But what's the actual depth? Did he have an affair with Heihachi's wife? Is he her bodyguard? We need more.
I like that Tekken is one of the few series where the main characters are straight up no nonsense bad guys
Good point. You know, it speaks volumes of Kazumi when Akuma--one of the baddest individuals in fighting game history--owes you a favor.
GAF has touched on this on so many levels. So no, let's not go there. The argument ultimately condenses to Japan has a much younger audience. Its characters consist of teenagers doing "coming of age stories". Tekken never grew into a man. It's still a teenager. Tekken's western fans are grown ass men.
Jin isn't a bad guy though. <_<
Jin is the worst of all of them lolJin isn't a bad guy though. <_<
I dunno, didn't he start a world war in Tekken 6? doesn't matter if it was for the greater good or not, he caused a shitload of deaths for his own personal reasons. he probably had the worst run as CEO of the Zaibatsu out of everyone.
I'm pretty sure Harada has finally moved on from Jin and realized how shit he and Lars were.

Harada is still a Jin fanboy....but i'm glad that one time Lars thing went into the backround.
Harada's favorite character is Heihachi.
When i look at Heihachi i see an old evil guy who is obsessed with himself to the point of complete ridiculousness.
I sure hope Harada doesn't do something dumb like try and explain away Heihachi's motives throughout the entire series. Just keep him a tried and true bad guy, then end this old man.
I like you.I'm pretty sure Harada has finally moved on from Jin and realized how shit he and Lars were.
I don't think Jin deserves a lot of the hate he gets. He goes through crazy character development before (even gets reflected in his movelist!) and after the Tekken 4, but it all gets thrown away in the Tekken 5/6 era. He's horribly mishandled, and I guess that came with being Tekken's posterboy.
Lars is shit though. No doubt.
Different game.
Different budget.
Different development costs.
SFXTK had to make all of the Tekken characters from the ground up.
You're making a false correlation.
Some games sell 500k copies and are profitable.
Other games sell 5 million and still need to sell more to be profitable.
I even like Lee more than Jin.

I just look at him as Lee Chaolan 2.0
A pretty boy they try to shoehorn into the main storyline by making him related to Heihachi in some form then a few games down the line they forget about him.
Both games had initial projected sales of 2 million, both failed to reach that. It's not like SFxT was shooting for 5 million, while TTT2 was only shooting for 500k. They were both shooting for the same sales, they both fell a bit short.
It would be rather strange to be shooting for the same sales target while having vastly different budgets.
It would be very hard to argue that SFxT failed and TTT2 succeeded...even though both games had the same sales projection and similar sales overall.
Lee has neat moves tho. Lars is trash.

Lars moveset is actually amazing actually. He's fine.
Lee is annoying though

Lee!? Ugh...that guy...Violet is better than him by far
Even assuming so, TTT2 had a successful arcade version which made money - an alternate revenue stream. SFXTK did not.
So now Akuma is being introduced and STILL NO WORD on my girl Nina Williams being part of the roster??? She's the poster girl of Tekken I'm losing my patience with this

Not really talking about the arcade version, but...
Likewise, we don't have DLC sales, which were (obviously) a larger part of SFxT's revenue plans compared to TTT2.
In spite of the whining, DLC costumes, characters, and even gems were a very common sight online.
Also, we don't know what kind of deal Capcom had with Sony, but they clearly had some sort of financial support considering all the Sony exclusive characters and the Vita promotion. (SFxT was probably the precursor to SF5's current Sony relationship)
Bottom line, both games did not do as well as their developers wanted on console, both sold similarly, yet both are not viewed similarly by the FGC...even in the west, where "arcade performance" means jack spit.

Despite being an avid Tekken fan, I was disappointed with Tekken 7 as the game didn't seem to bring much new stuff and the visuals didn't seem next-gen at all.
This changed that, by alot, in a good way. Excited!
lol I wouldn't worry about her. There are still alot of character annoucements to come. And she has been in literally every Tekken game, they even made a spin off game about her: Death By Degrees. I highly doubt that they will suddenly not include her. Same thing with Lei Wulong, he has also been in every Tekken since he was introduced in T2. I'll be shocked if those two characters are not in.
Lars is trash???!
Wow. Lee? Lmaooo.
Heihachi is a has been. Lee is ass, and not even a real Mishima. Lars is the king of swag. Jin is a badass seeing as how he can take out the whole Mishima bloodline by himself.
Thanks k bye.
