You don't get to bring friends.
For those who wants to know Double Toasted's review

Well...

Korey gave BvS a:

High Rental

Martin:

Low Rental

Korey 2.0:

Worse than MOS

Bonus Ray:

Some 'ol Bullshit

I'm surprised at korey high rental as I thought he would outright call this a bullshit movie

Once again, I stand clear with my statement a few thread pages ago that this is the comic book movie version of Advent Children, with Superman filling in for a mopey ass Cloud.

Yeah, saw the movie and he really is just okay.
But I still think that most of critics are complaining just because it has a most serious tone that the Marvel movies, because there's no way that this movie is not as good as Thor (both of them) or the first Captain America

Batman Forever is at 41%. Nolan saved the Batman IP from the abyss of mediocrity and ridicule, only for Hack Snyder to plunge it back in. He must come back.

Nolan made the trilogy he wanted to make. Hell, it was even 1 more movie than he really wanted, he was happy to stop at The Dark Knight but WB really wanted him back for a last film. There's no reason to try and bring him back, he's done and he's happy.

I'm having difficulty imagining Snyder fucked up this bad. I'm no fan of his but I can't see it being absolute tripe.
Bleedingcool's thoughts are up that has a different take on the movie... Calling it more like an opera. It's a good read.

I was meant to be seeing this Friday with friends. But I have had bronchitis for around a week so had to pass on a ticket. One of my mates is a huge Superman fan ( but thought MoS was poor), how bad is he going to take it?

I find the intensity of the GAF schadenfreude around this film genuinely strange.

I remember the buzz being pretty negative overall from the initial announcement through to launch with some flashes of positivity now and then. Some people have genuinely wanted it to fail for who knows what reasons though.

But that's not the read I get from the results. In terms of RT, it's much lower than MoS, yes. But in terms of average score and Metacritic, it's really only a single point down on a ten point scale. MC is at 44 now, MoS was 55. RT average for MoS was 6.2 or something, BvS is 5.2.

Based on the actual reviews, and the way the numbers here work, I'll say that the take away isn't "This movie is absolute tripe that is unwatchable garbage compared to MoS." rather, the message is "If you didn't like MoS, this is more of the same, this is a sequel no one who had issues with MoS asked for, and even those who might have tolerated MoS back then, have lost patience with the direction the series is headed in."

The huge drop off on RT is indicative that many reviewers who had barely positive reviews for MoS, went into the negative this time. I'm fairly certainly that most who actually enjoys MoS and had a stronger positive reaction to it, likely still gave BvS a positive score. MoS was a divisive film in terms of how it handled Superman and the world he inhabits. BvS takes this further, but clearly not in a direction that people who have reservations about it in the first place would like.

I spent the last 2 days reading every page of this thread, what a beautiful trainwreck
-from thor 2 and ultron talk
- to Im3 Love
-and shitposting all around
what a fucking thread.

Early impressions are almost always shit coming from the public. People either go in biased or don't know any better.

Some of the reviews I've seen have called it garbage so I don't know. There are definitely a large number of lukewarm impressions but there is also a significant percentage that think this is some old bullshit.

I guess it's not unheard of for Snyder to put out an atrocious film but I do expect better of him even after MoS and the huge problems with that. Some of these reviews are making it out to be barely coherent.

I was thinking about going just to see the trainwreck, but I think I'll put the $10 towards a couple comic books instead.

Gotta support those endangered species.
