Batman v. Superman RT Thread: like standing ovations in rain

Does no one remember the attrocity of Captain America 1?

It seems that all these franchise starter movies suffer from trying to establish too much for future films. That and needless irrelevancy.

It was bad, but I didn't want to get murdered here, and there was a little charm to Cap before he went through the change, like that part of the movie was cool to me.

Nothing can deter me from seeing this. I want it. I loved the critically panned and Terminator aficionado despised Genysis. So.
What could go wrong?

I loved jurassic world. Hated the force awakens. I'm my own man, man. I'll play Skyrim until I'm force to get a noob tattoo. Don't care.

Can you explain? I dont understand how these graphs work

Each point shows the RT rating of a movie compared to it's BO. The lines show trends in correlation. For Crime movies, it actually seems to be that the lower the RT score, the more money the movie makes. Horror is the same way. Only Action, Adventure, and Documentary show positive correlation between RT scores and BO performance (that is, the worse the score, the worse the money).

Didn't think it was that bad. Cluttered, too many dream sequences, and the reason for a Batman vs Supaman was dumb, but it was still miles better than MoS.

Weak sauce. Seriously
the dude moves faster than sound, he could get in there and get her out before they could do a thing, alsohe could hear Lois lightly tapping on a stone while under water and rubble, but couldn't hear his own mom when she was muffled, but not completely silent?
Yeah, that didn't make sense. Like, was she tapping in code? Or does he have super scent? How did he discern her tapping from the average couple knocking headboards?

My ex-wife gave me her review, basically the movie is all over the place and was poorly edited, the editing made a mess of the movie jumping from one aspect to another, also she said if you don't know Batman you going to be lost, they don't fill in the blanks, they jump from one aspect of Batman/Bruce character to another and without knowledge of the character movie is going to be a brutal experience...

Hopefully i am going to check it out tomorrow.

But who doesn't know Batman? Or Superman, for that matter?

I've seen it.

Worst new movie I've seen since Terminator Genisys. It was dogshit in just about every way possible.

TG wasn't even that bad. Just bad acting. Critics hated it of course.

I think the more serious you take these movies the less you will enjoy them. I felt like I was watching a saturday morning batman/superman crossover cartoon. Ex. Batman walking around in a giant metal suit thinking he can take on superman should hold no serious realistic expectations. And therefore any reason why someone thinks this scene is silly is just as silly as the reasoning against it.

That was my problem with TFA. I took it too serious and I didn't love it like the rest of gaf.

Nailed it

Batmobile sequence is all noise and bombast with no tension or execution. This is further reinforced by just how much of it is CG!

In regards to the warehouse fight, I'll add that them adding a background score also deflated it. As mentioned before, the sequence came off A LOT more awesome in the trailer.... but like u said, it WAS nothing but the money shots, emphasized by only SFX being heard.
It was the one scene I was looking forward too but by the time it happened, I didn't give a shit anymore

Fuck this movie :(

It's funny. I don't disagree with this, but I think by that point of the movie I was nearly checked out so even then I found it a highlight.

Told ya, I'm sure it'll die down

I wanna see Ben Afflecks response to that video. I'm sure he'd take it lightly and find it funny

Besides he should be perfectly aware that he seems to be one of the actual positives in the reviews.

Shit. He was the part I was iffy on. That worry is long gone, thanks to the bulk of reviews..he knows it ain't him.

Kinda feel bad for poor ben. He's the best thing in the movie lol. Still can't help bit laugh watching the video over and over again tho

Ben will be fine, Adams will be fine, Einsenberg will be fine, Fishburne, Irons, the tea lady, the guy who played Jimmy for a few minutes - all fine.

Cavill though will be the fall guy and is going to go the way of Brandon Routh

Another Superman actor bites the dust.

Is the role cursed?

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
Yeah, I think a reboot would destroy Cavill's career. Everyone else would be fine, but I don't see him bouncing back. Hollywood will put him wherever Sam Worthington is now, but without the hope of another $1+ billion movie in the pipeline.
