Batman v. Superman RT Thread: like standing ovations in rain

Disagreed about WW's acting, I thought she was fine given her material (a curve everyone in the film has to be graded on). Otherwise, yeah. Pretty much.

I hope Rich is a mainstay of the show now.

They only bring out to mostly help review comic book stuff since they have no frame of reference for that stuff besides past movies. Mike and Jay have no idea that The Flash has time traveling powers or who and what the fuck Vision is in AoU.

Just saw it.

I'm...I'm just gonna watch this for a few hours...

zack pls

Welp, time to rewatch the Nolan trilogy for the 100th time.

Going to watch it today

What does gaf say, is it good?

For the record, I loved man of Steel

No spoilers

It's a good sequel to Man of Steel. It continues the themes explored in that film and expands on them so if you loved MoS you will probably like this one as well.

I think if you loved MoS, you'll fucking love this.

I liked Man of Steel. It had a few issues, but overall I enjoyed the take on it.

Just got back from BvS and thought it was fucking awesome through and through.

Yeah, this movie has issues. That said, I liked it more than Batman Begins and Rises, and a hell of a lot more than Man of Steel.

The score is just so incredibly obnoxious though. Like holy shit. Every time there was a
Justice League cameo
and when
Wonder Woman popped up in full costume
they just blasted the most obnoxious noises, almost like they wanted to make sure people were awake to see it.

Anyway, it is absolutely a definite step up from the monster turd that was Man of Steel. The action was significantly better paced.

They barely made the $170 estimate, wow.
Doubting the $1 billion needed to be profitable...

Are you kidding!? It's already made almost half a billion in just it's first three days of release. This movie's gonna make at least a billion, whether people like it or not. Personally I'm happy and can't wait for Snyder's Justice League movies.

Well, I'm finally sat in the cinema with the film about to start, already had the Turkish Airlines trail.

Got the ticket for free (Vitality) so I won't be sour if the film is bad; I will go into this with open eyes......see you all on the other side.

It's glorious over here if you're a fan of the film. This was my Avengers or Star Wars and I loved every minute of it. It isn't perfect but it's a great start.

lol..Probably best way to experience it, yes. Enjoy!

Eh.. I still cringed more during Deadpool.

There is a Marvel bias.

Marvel paid Snyder off to fuck up Batman v Superman.
Diabolical motherfuckers..

lmao nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be--it's too damn long for sure, but very solid

definitely not Amazing Spiderman 2, or Daredevil bad. I'd have it above Avengers 2, maybe above Avengers 1 because I think that film has aged like shit, but not Winter Soldier tier

but oooff....that was a really long film. but its good.

So..rating? From 1-10?

I know the Transformers, Pirates of the Carribean, and Twilight films made a lot of money, but will this be the lowest rated movie to make the most money disproportionate to its score?

I still can't believe how close this is to Green Lantern's RT score...

Saw it last night and well while the movie had a ton of problems I enjoyed it. It's total cheese but if you can get beyond that you can enjoy it. That final fight was a huge mistake but aside from that I think it's pretty good. Finally we get a full blown broken psychopathic Batman.

Movie was deep, man. Not many movies come out these days, where we go back home, analyze the scenes and connect the dots and research for what's in the source material. Which is why I find this movie to be so good with each viewing. Sad to see folks around me not enjoying, just because they don't know much about either Batman/Superman or this universe before hand, or they think Sir Nolan's Batman is the Batman and thus they end up saying BVS Batman is not Batman at all. Sigh, why can't you guys take this as a newer interpretation of Batman(it's actually a more merciless version of TDKReturns Batman).

Batman is like religion man, it's a mythology. And there are very many different versions to this mythology, that we know. And lastly watching Sir Snyder's interviews, it's so evident that he's immensely passionate about both Bats and Supes, and he knows a lot of stuff based around the comics, which fans like us happen to know of. He's truly the person who can pull of a Justice League. Just wait for it GAF!

*shrug*

If I had to score it based on the scores these other comic book films got:

Thor : 77
IM 2: 72
IM 1: 94
IM 3: 79
CA: TWS : 89
GotG: 91
Avengers: 92
Avengers 2: 75

I'd have walked out of the movie thinking I'd give it an 80. Think this is a better basis to throw a score out there than comparing it to all films generally.

Saw it.

It's.... not that bad. I think there's a good movie there, but at it's state it's just too bloaded, badly paced and edited. And long. I think an "alternate cut" of sorts could do wonders for the movie.

Enjoyed Baffleck as Batman, hope he gets another try.

This is movie is so good, the two lamest members of the Justice League had to go on Instagram to make memes defending it from those dreaded critics.

That Red Letter review made me hate the movie more lol. It's a really really stupid movie.

The only analyzing of this movie is how many dumb things are in it.

I hope Rich is a mainstay of the show now.

If you're talking specifically of Half in the Bag, unlikely. Rich only seems to appear in BIG movies, usually big blockbuster geek films. His few other appearances have been in Avengers, Jurassic World, and Star Wars. He's a regular in Best of the Worst in RLM though.

God this movie is so good. I mean yeah, it's edited like garbage and the acting is bad and none of it makes any sense, but there was at least one explosion so really I'm set. Also one of my coworkers who no one likes reads comics and said that he recognized one of the scenes from a comic (he calls them "graphic novels" LOL) so I know it's super accurate

TLDR fuck the critics, 9/10. Only thing I didn't like was Wonder Woman, she seemed to have too much agency. But I know that Snyder will fix that with the director's cut, bring it more in line with his normal style

Why compare it to Marvel stuff? lol..I'll just assume you're giving it an 8/10.
