Madden is somehow a huge deal still? I thought YoY it was declining? I don't follow it much but NMS I would think the delay would benefit the title. Plus it's two polar opposite genres.

He had one of the redditors message him on Twitter blaming him for delaying NMS, like Jason was personally responsible, when the article was published and how he was going to come find and kill him and his entire family. Thats how fucked up it was, and still is.

I suppose they have to do what they have to do but it's extremely disappointing that I won't get to play it on my holidays which I booked to start when No Man's Sky was supposed to release. The first week was devoted entirely to playing this. What makes it worse is that August to the end of October is a really busy time at work too. I'm talking 12 hour days, 6 days a week which doesn't leave much time to play my most anticipated game of this year. That sucks.
I hope for their sake that the game releases to universal praise and is everything we want it to be. Don't disappoint us again!

I've seen enough of the game and at this point I'd rather just play it than watch footage or a trailer of "oooh look at this procedurally generated planet we found!". No, let me find and experience it thanks. lol

Given that No Man's Sky is a relatively niche title compared to Madden-- at least here in the US-- I do think Madden handily outsells No Man's Sky on the PS4. Madden is a consistent Top 10 game in sales every year; No Man's Sky is an unproven commodity.
That said, No Man's Sky has a 2-week head start. If it reviews well and has strong WOM, it could do okay in its launch window before Madden 17 slams it shut. Not crazy numbers, but okay.
Would it have sold more in June? Maybe... but June is a pretty stacked month of releases too.

I'm ok with this as long as they don't take 10 minutes on stage at Sony's conference. We've already saw a trillion trailers and demos of this.

The tits are pretty great. As long as you use reddit for cute animals and naked people you actually get pretty far with it.

Not too bad of a delay at all. Hopefully that extra month and a half will just add an extra layer of polish to the game.
Also people really need to stop questioning Jason Schreier. At this point if he puts his name on it book it. The dude has earned that level of trust.

I think if they can accomplish the procedurally generated worlds they have been talking about, that in and of itself is pretty damn special.
