They are. You can dismantle them at a loss of some of the required ingredients and re apply them to another slot. That becomes a pain in the ass when dealing with rare stuff. Thats why my upgrade layout is in shambles. I cant be bothered to go look for Aluminum and aqua spheres again.

Just for a small boost and tidiness.

You have to dismantle them and then rebuild them in the spot you want.

Yeah, fuck that. Dumb oversight. I'll wait for a patch.

Ok, I've decided walking around on planets is the only true way to get anything you would call "emergent" gameplay so Hello Games have to restrict the ship's abilities inside a planet's atmosphere under certain conditions.

The fact you can land on a planet with storms that can kill you in less than a minute if you step outside, and instead of struggling to get away you can just jump in your ship like "LOL no thanks" feels like pandering to the space tourist crowd.

It's fine on beautiful planets for it to be easy to move around by flying, but on planets with crazy storms ... imagine a movie where they're stuck in a huge storm outside temperatures 100s below zero, step outside and they're near death, dramatic music kicks in as the storm bellows what are they going to do? oh they just hop in their ship and go.

So my starting planet (after graphical settings restart) for PC was an already discovered planet???!!

It was an awesome earth like planet with dinosaurs

Okay? I have named all my planets and systems but I'm not naming any animals or waypoints. I enjoy it.
I find it really hard to come up with stuff for planets and systems. The creatures and stuff like that is easier but gets... boring I guess :S Really surprised I feel like that.

Found a nice planet and then it crashed. RIP planet.

soooo guys can you get an upgraded suit because i just found a pod and im at 48 slots but it wont let me buy another slot.... i have 5 mil...

does any one have over 50 slots or is 48 max??????

hope my game isnt bugged... 😑😕😞

haha, didn't know it went THAT high. My guess was 25, 30 tops. I have 45 slots between my suit and ship total and even that feels like plenty. Still haven't seen one of those planets covered in pods that some of you have found, though.

I literally just saw those now and I thought something was up with them too but couldn't figure it out. Was odd how the balls could be moved and rolled.

Yeah. The more I think about it, the more I believe they have a specific function, even if it isn't for those portals. Literally nothing else I've come across has its own physics like these balls do.

I have a video where I pushed one across a planet for a few minutes. Maybe I should upload it when I get home so others can see what we mean/help find out if they are actually meant to do something.

I'm starting to feel like this game's not terribly subtle with some of its design inspirations...

Not a complaint, I think it's a great tribute, just funny how much Star Wars-inspired stuff I keep running into.

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but is there any interaction among creatures at all?
Just landed on a planet with several different species in one place, two of which were predators. They specifically attacked and pursued me. I would've expected them to target the other species as well but never obvserved that as of now.

I haven't had those bipedal walkers show up yet. Is it later as you get closer to the centre or have I not upped the sentinel alert long enough for them to come as back up?

I'm sorry GAF, but I had to request a refund. :( Doesn't run that great, despite my PC falling well within the recommended requirements and it just isn't that fun. At least when it comes to a refund, I'm thankful I won't have to argue with customer support in order to get my money back. When it came to GIG it literally took me months and calling up paypal in order to get my refund.

No. Nothing interacts with each other in this game. Only with the player.

I've seen species attack each other and such. But no they don't really have a daily routine. They just walk around. They don't eat or sleep and the like. Which is a shame but that wouldn't add any functionality to the game other than neat things to see and there is already a lot of neat things to see.

Guys I found a funny bug.

Bought a ship but forgot to dismantle everything before.
So I reload the save and now my old ship has the design of the one I bought but everything else is "old"

Anybody?

Crashing isn't helping. In the last hour I've warped (attempted to, anyway) 10 times and it's crashed 5 times.
You should be able to count the stars between on the galactic map. Once you upgrade your warp drive to sigma at least, you should be able to make it one 1 or 2 jumps.

Just upgraded both my suit and ship inventory to 48 slots each. Feels good.

For the suit just keep an eye for drop pods on planets, especially in barren planets they are easy to spot from the air.

For the ship i upgraded all the way to 48 just repairing crashed ships on planets. I just keep the repairs to the minimum cuz was always changing ships. Every time you find a crashed ship that ship will have 1 more slot or 1 less slot than ur current one, so just keep repairing the ones that have 1 more slot and soon you will be at maximum capacity.

How to find crashed ships locations easy:

1- Find a scanning beacon (the ones with an orange beacon on many outposts, easy spoted from the air) and scan for transmissions. You want to find a "Transmission Tower"

2- Inside a transmission towers solve the puzzle to scan for crashed ships locations. You can repeat the scan to show you many locations.

3- Keep repairs to the minimum, the materials neened to repair are very easy to find in all planets. Except for zinc, if the planet dont have any flora.

This way u can upgrade ur ship to maximum and save ur money to the exosuit upgrades.

It only shows about 7 systems ahead and then stops. That is after 10 or so jumps. I can only jump one system at a time. Haven't found any upgrades to my hyperdrive.

I ignored the red ball at the beginning. I've been mostly blind on media so I thought I'd go in as blind as possible! Mistake?

Also, can you get something on the ship that allows you to see the same HUD markers as when you're on foot? Seems like I'm not seeing anywhere near as much when I'm airborne and I'm flying pretty low to the ground.

Besides There's one trade commodity you want to hang on to,
Atlas Stones
, other than that, yes some trade commodities are used in blue prints later on, but don't hang onto them. You'll start to get what you get where. Also, there's no reason reason to fully explore a planet. It'll just take for ever, and within five minutes on a planet, you've already discovered all the resources it has. All planets have Iron and Carbon, planets with flora have Zinc and Platonium, and there can be up to three different "mountains" of resources per planet, and one crystalized neutral element. You won't find more as you continue to explore, really.
I want to at least get to the point that I can "complete" the planet in discoveries. Honestly if I see a question mark on the HUD I find it almost impossible to ignore.

I found a pod on my starter planet. I stepped in and received an inventory upgrade.
I've had two on mine, both at save points. Hoping to find more as I continue to explore.

Do I need an upgrade to name animals/plants/planets? At the moment I'm just scanning them
Assuming they're all the same as you start out, you'll need to upgrade your multi-tool with the (I think it's called) discovery upgrade. After that you can analyse them with L2.

I encountered one of those sentinels yesterday while farming Albumen Pearls. Got absolutely wrecked and just barely escaped with my life and loot.

Didn't know about that second picture though. Damn, now I wish I still didn't.

That's pretty good thinking, actually. I had given up on bothering with crashed ships since they were so similar to my own, but I hadn't realized they always had one more/less slot than your current one.

Realistically anyone could get a badass ship in a few hours tops.

This is not true. I have video of a predator chasing after prey. I was hiding in a suit upgrade drop pod watching it. I'll try to upload it sometime.

guess my 19 slotship isnt gonna cut it wish the high slotted ships wasnt sooo ugly....

also really my most hated thing in the game soo far is ship comabt.. i put ship sensitivity to 100 and still feels like I cannot turn fast enough it's mainly because the ships that are fighting you stay so close their like flies, instead of staying there distance so you can get a shot off ... i guess it get better if you have better upgrades but i like my fashion ship.. lol

I chased a small skittish mammal in the direction of this deformed raptor who's species had 'predator' status. Sure enough the raptor attacked and killed it. Haven't seen anything like that happening on its own but I've only encountered a couple of predators.

Also use scanning beacons to scan for shelter. If a Drop Pod is near by, it seems to have top priority when the beacon is scanning.

Is there a way to change your mind about the atlas decision at the beginning of the game... I'm thinking about starting over. I came to a monolith that 'remembered' my choice and basically told me to go 'f' myself. What am I missing out on?

Has anyone else encountered the glitch where they can't claim the reward for recording all the species on ANY planet?

There's no way I'll be able to afford a ship anytime soon with this glitch, or any reason to even bother scanning animals at all now.

Every planet I go to is 100% complete, regardless of how much scanning I actually do.

I'm having a new issue recently in the game that I can't figure out. Whenever I equip environmental aids for my suit, they will run out of our seconds after replenishing them. This didn't used to be the case.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Hmmm. I recall something like that happening with me. You are following the waypoint thats not the center of the galaxy path? If you follow the waypoint path it just ends without being on an atlas interface?

That happened to me so I just started following the path towards the center of the galaxy and then
the anomaly
showed up again and I was able to get pointed back in the right direction. The atlas paths are usually only 3 or 4 jumps between interfaces so I suggest you just head towards the center and wait for them to show up in one of the systems.

This happened to me but only on planets I've already been, any new planet allows me to upload the 100℅ mark discovery. If I go back to a planet that I didn't discover every specie, now it says 100℅ and can't upload the mark.
