yeah. They seem to be behind and have no idea how to respond.
Its mind boggling how we are approaching 3 months since ms revealed their console while standing in front of them boasting about setting the bar and Sony is still MIA.
They haven't responded to the github leaks. They have cancelled e3 since. They have revealed a logo of ask things. They just stayed quiet after the Bloomberg article. And have cancelled two major events though this time they had an excuse. Their pr and marketing departments are awful.

They just go their planned route, starting from logo reveal. Even though this particular thread is thirsty and anxious, world doesn't really care, and logo reveal shows that Sony strategy is a reasonable one.
And they do a right thing to cancel events. There is a chance that virus soon will be everywhere. It's not contained in China like some may think - there are already small outbreaks, not just single cases, in Japan and S.Korea.

It was the worst possible scenario, but in the face of external and unexpected elements such as the C-19, little can be done.
Seriously speaking "wasting time" no. But it is an important blow. But it could be worse, they could cancel the GDC. That would be a good slap.
In any case I am sure that alternatives will be applied, either by Streaming or Videoconferencing (or some other alternative). In the face of the user, the worst thing that can happen is that the output of the new consoles is delayed due to lack of components. Although I believe that it will not reach that extreme, it would be more viable to go on the market on the established dates but with less quantity of consoles manufactured.
Although it is so far in time that all this remains in mere unnecessary speculation.
We have worked very hard and it is time to continue doing it. You never know what can happen.
PS. Yesterday we received a new black and cold machine (surprisingly very cold literally). Next week will be the time to start using it..

I only talked about the fact THAT a new console generation will arrive at the end of this year. That wasn't only distributed on GAF, Twitter or Reddit. There were several newspapers and sites who also mentioned it, even if they are not specialized on gaming. It's clear most of the people don't care about deeper facts at this time. But if you are interested in (console) gaming in any way and use the Internet you stumbled over an XSX and PS5 news.
But then you have the prove why it's not necessary to wait for a game release first. PS4 was revealed in February 2013, few months before TLOU was released. At this point it still was clear the PS4 is not BC and the PS3 was sold about 70m units. Even that didn't negatively influenced the sale.
There are more than 100m PS4 users out there, the PS5 is BC and TLOU2 will be one of the greatest games on PS4. There is absolutely no reason why a PS5 reveal steal the attention on this game. Even if it's technically not as great as a direct PS5 game, but would you care? I don't. Even than the PS5 is away 5-6 months from the release date of TLOU2.

Why not push this logic to its finality? i.e. simply stop shipping Playstations (including the ps4) & stop selling them in stores as well. Bingo, no risk of infecting the buyer.

We shouldn't go crazy. Didn't noticed any delays on the smartphone market so far. That doesn't mean it's not getting worse in the future, but we should rather wait before seeing everything so bad. Acutally there is no reason or proof of it.

They have a long history of that since PS Vita or earlier where they had an official Games/UI Apps SDK for indies all in C# and then brought in a custom Unity version.
Before that they were one of the few developers still using a flavour of GNUStep + Objective-C (kick-ass language)... think it was called SNAP Framework or something: https://applesecrets.com/sony-snap-connected-device-app-framework-frozen-slashgear/ .

How about all the Sony employees etc. & even those from other distribution chains who pass through the Guard du Nord train station in Paris? (i.e. one example where half a million people pass through daily in a country where someone has already died of the virus). Surely all these workers who package & ship Sony products deserve some thought? The excuse is ridiculous. Use your brains, people.

Yup, that means 1400 nits. But it's still called HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, but seems companies try to make it simple that way as read once HDR 2000 myself. The more nits the better HDR performance, doesn't mean you should melt your eyes with high brightness. Still, you must always check out site like rtings.com especially for input lags and very deep analysis. You may as well check youtube for that matter also. You know such TV's aren't cheap and you must pick one wisely.

There is not exactly correct answer, yes, virus can survive on surfaces but max. is couple hours.

Saw a post somewhere that mentioned Sony is putting the camera features(mirrorless camera for their camera business) on hold to focus on PS5 production and optimizing the costs. This article also says PS5 is due for release next year. I don't remember seeing anywhere else about the PS5 releasing next year. Right from the beginning its been supposed to release holidays 2020 right?

Man, I remember SEGA Saturn was insanely overpriced here to around 1000 Omani Rials ($2600 USD) then settling down to around 700 OMR ($1820) after that being sold at 450 OMR ($1170). It was beyond my reach to the point it was crushing me when I go to my cousin's house and play it there or to an amusement shop with the SEGA Rally set
I was struggling to continue playing Streets of Rage, Sonic, and other games on SEGA Mega Drive (Genesis)
Still have a yellow SEGA Game Gear since 5th grade

Very few people have access to the specs of PS5.
Only high level people on studios know the actual specs and no one is going to give you that, because they're not willing to lose their jobs.

SK Hynix closed a factory ... 2nd largest memory maker in the world, just saying. it’s a ripple effect takes some time to feel .. doesn’t help they launch in the end of the year. It’s better to be realistic and keep in mind .. but maybe we get lucky.

Let's just say any leaks of un-vetted insiders (or so-called average Joe that happens to hear something) are not legit. Mods should look into it before we can put some weight to those claims.
Lol no any leaks without person verified i take with a grain of salt.
So far I only trust GitHub leak and even then I'm not even sure how accurate that is (old data, BC mode test etc).
Gaf has changed over the years before it was a zero tolerance if you teasing shit or saying insider shit get verified or get banned. But it seems nowadays it's cool you can come in like Osiris and some of other dudes and give insider information without no ban. So what's stopping us all saying we got inside information. In fact I may just do that if we don't have information by next month for lols.

It is like saying "when games will support HDMI". How your console talks to the TV is none of the game developer's business. Even current gen consoles can; spit out both HDR10 and paid Dolby crap. Did I mention that it makes consoles more expensive with no actual benefit?
Technically we have exactly zero TVs with 12-bit support and also none on the horizon either.
It's a paper advantage, Sony and Samsung (who drive the HDR10/HDR10+ standards) need to add 14 bits, just for giggles, I guess.
Microsoft own Minecraft - and their devs release on all platforms so will def have a PS5 dev machine.

I think they will, just like they wanna have Dodge Challenger DEMON with 840HP yet they can't be sure they will beat a 600hp Nissan GT-R from zero in regular streets, and 100% sure they'll lose in a circuit.

Well, thanks. Current PS4 only supports HDR10 (not sure of HDR10+). If they're gonna support HDR10+ then I wouldn't really care about DV. Only X1X supports DV so far, I guess.
