PC gaming obsolete confirmed. master race destroyed.

Sony wasn't winning the exclusives war at the start of last gen. They both sucked. And then Nintendo was over in the corner puking all over themselves with the Wii U. What a glorious time to be a gamer. Sony won because of price, and zero fuckery. Microsoft was all about the fuckery.Pretty sure it was the price point plus the fact that Sony didnt try and fudge over customers by locking games to a system.
Also exclusives!!!
It will hurt them greatly if people like me start buying third party games on the competitors console instead of theirs, which is what I will do if the power differential is large enough for me to notice. I've enjoyed some of Sony's exclusives this gen, but I'm sick to death of 30fps and tight FOVs.It won't hurt Sony at all. They will reveal a great new console, with all their strong IPs and it will sell gangbusters.
But MS are doing something clever. They are looking to put clear daylight, from a technical point of view, between themselves and Sony. Not a case of getting the magnifying glass out - rather a significant performance gap. And they have to do that, because they don't have any games to draw you to their platform. That's not a dig. In a few years' time we might see the fruit of all their studio acquisitions, but for the time being, for the wonder of all those specs, I have yet to see anything from a gaming point of view that demands I pick one up. Also, and I will say this until I'm blue in the face, they should have never let Bungie go. I know they wanted to leave, but Destiny would sell the X on its own.
Also, I could obviously be talking absolute nonsense, and Sony reveal a powerhouse themselves. I'd be surprised though.
They don't need to.
What are you talking about? Xbox One had suspended games since 2013, PS4 got it much later. Next gen Xbox is increasing it to multiple games, not just one.
Apart from this gen with the underpowered PS4 and XB1, its always like this at the start of a new gen. Next Gen consoles matching mid to high end PC's, and then a couple of years later they are low end. Thats because apart from the enthusiast PC crowd, most PC gamers have gpu's that can run console ports at higher framerates and resolutions, and settings. Hense why the 1060 is (or was, havent seen the updated Steam starts for a couple of years) the most used GPU this gen, because its OneX level. PC users dont need more than that to produce much better than console settings. Once next gen launches, you will see PC users upgrade again to something that gives them the same reslts over the comng generation.PC gaming obsolete confirmed. master race destroyed.

PS4 has it for all games.
PS4 has it for all games.
Considering neither the PS Pro or X came anywhere near to being used to thier full potential it's going to be truely exciting to see games that will take advantage of such beefy specs
You've got my money MS sounds like one hell of a sexy beast!
Balls in your court now Sony, MS just brought thier A game, eagerly awaiting your announcement too
What a great time to be a gamer
PS4 received it in a system update one and a half years after launch is why. It's a OS level feature on both consoles so I don't know where this idea that one console had it while the other didn't comes from.

They reduce settings to get those framerates, even some people with 1080ti's and 2080ti's reduce setings to get those 144+fps ranges. Thats the beauty of PC gaming, player choice."Can't play in less than 120fps" crowd will be punched in the balls by CPU requirements of next gen ports (meaning no CPU on the market will allow that framerate in many games for years to come), that's for sure.
When I make statements about who I see as the competition and who I don't see as the competition...I would much rather see companies that have been part of bringing the games industry to where it is today be leaders for the next 20 or 30 years, because there's a learning and responsibility those teams have held for a long time that has brought us to that point. I think that learning and understanding and responsibility should be part of gaming's next 50 years. [...] I find that my conversations with those other companies are usually more collaborative than "two enter, one may leave" scenarios. In that world, I'd love the industry to continue to evolve through both competition and cooperation. We should compete in the areas that help us get better. I love the brands that are in the industry today and the safety players have with those brands and for us, as an industry, it's great when all those brands continue to grow.
So Halo, Gears and Forza....Uncharted, Last of us and God of war. Throw in SM stuff, as you say, toss in playground games Fable? new IP from ninja theory in project mara....hellblade...horizon and kojima stuffNone really, I play cheap tat off Steam - but I still recognise that they have a distinct and clear gaming vision. Much like Nintendo. They have their usual Santa Monica stuff, so Uncharted, Last of Us and God of War. Then the new staples like Horizon alongside whatever Kojima cooks up. Atlus deliver the Japanese fare. They also did a good job of getting certain exclusivity arrangements on 3rd party titles (a practise I hate, but seems to be standard)
I don't see that with MS at the moment, and I think that's part of the reason why they're making such a play for power. It's the thing that makes them different. Watching their adverts, you'd be tricked into thinking you're picking up an Aston Martin.
What MS needs is the best console shooter in class, exclusive to their console. Perhaps that will be Halo, but it needs to be the game that defines online FPS for the next decade.

True, its sad no one gives a shit about MS or Xbox brand outside USA.
These days, loads of graphical effects are tied to the cpu as well as gpu, such as shadow quality, shadow distance, grass/foliage quantity and range, view distnce, asset quality, etc. Also people with high end cpu's like I9's will still be far ahead of next gen console cpu's.Assuming you can reduce things that stress cpu the most, in many recent games you can mainly adjust graphics load.
Lets be honest here, 12 tflops was leaked over a year ago on Reddit, leaked by Windows Central after, confirmed by Phil Spencer when he said XSX had twice the power (not performance as hacks have been misquoting him), and confirmed by DFs sources. The only real bit of new info was RDNA2, which was pushed by ALOT of XBOX fanboys like Blue on Twitter.
Anyone saying there was any question over if XSX was 12tflops Navi before this either spoke English as their second language, or they were just plain thick.
To be fair, a lot of people was thinking RDNA 2 vs GCN, in terms of 'twice as powerful as the OneX' could of meant like 9tf RDNA2. The real news here that it IS 12tf, and RDNA2.Lets be honest here, 12 tflops was leaked over a year ago on Reddit, leaked by Windows Central after, confirmed by Phil Spencer when he said XSX had twice the power (not performance as hacks have been misquoting him), and confirmed by DFs sources. But even that console war stuff is one thing. Some funny memes and jokes have come out of it and rivalry isn't necessarily a bad thing. I don't get why super basic garbage like that isn't just a perma ban though. This thread is insufferable with the console warrior nonsense. Even before clicking to open this thread this morning i was expecting to wade through it page after page and i was right. Best thing to do is the weed out the bad ones by putting them on ignore. That way you don't have to sift through mountains of garbage.
At the end of the day you have people who's sole aim is to devalue real discussion by any means necessary.
Tell England they’re no one.True, its sad no one gives a shit about MS or Xbox brand outside USA.
CDPR already announced today that the Series X Cyberpunk upgrade will be free, so a next gen version is def coming. After today, it's looking more and more likely that Xbox Series X will be my primary next gen gaming console. All I need now is CDPR to announce Cyberpunk 2077 for Series X day one at Microsoft's E3 showcase and I'll be even more ready than I already am for for next gen!!! Screw any delays!!! Let's go, let's go!!!
So Halo, Gears and Forza....Uncharted, Last of us and God of war.
And to the 85mil 360 owners. I think 'No one really gives a shit about XB1 outside of US and UK' (and Japan obviously) would be a bit more accurateTell England they’re no one.
Yea, that safe...stick with thatXbox series X bad design.
You barely made it out of the tutorial and are ready to claim Gears 5 sucks...Forza is wonderful. Truly wonderful. But Gears 4 and 5 were both awful. I downloaded 5 on Gamepass, and it was so boring I could barely make it out of the tutorial. The franchise feels dead. Like something that should have ended ten years ago (having been, at that point, about the coolest game on console). It never evolved. Halo has had a bad gen. Sea of Thieves looked great, and then you played it and realised it was a tech demo for water effects. And then you had stuff like Crackdown 3, which was fun in the way that playing an Amiga game is enjoyable. They've just lost their way.
Sony, in contrast, has nailed the single player, big budget title. I'd rather chew glass than play Uncharted, but it's polished and has an audience.
MS just need to get their audience back, and that's by having the the best console shooter. Needs to blow Destiny and Overwatch and COD out of the water. Needs to spend two to three years sat in the top 5 on Twitch.
That's what will bring X box back.

Do you also say those games suck?In my defence, I barely make it out of most tutorials these days.
Regardless of what Phil and others say, by the end of next gen most games, percentage wise, will of been 30fps over the whole gen. Sure there will almost certainly be more 60fps games than this gen, especially in the first couple of years, but most games will be 30fps over the whole gen. And it will always be like that on console, until Sony and Microsoft mandate 60fps in all games, which they wont do.It should work like that but in many games you can get drops to for example ~50 fps in some place in maximum settings and same 50 fps on ultra low 720p, cpu load is unadjustable in many titles as games are designed around it.
If next gen game runs ~60 fps (probably slight above if it's stable) on 3+GHz Zen 2 it magicaly won't run twice as fast on 14nm+++++ Intel cpu, just some % faster. Current gen consoles were far from CPU top power in 2013 and they are quite close now. CPU power aside from core count won't increase much in upcoming years.
Do you also say those games suck?

PC will always be the place to be if you want high framerates, resolutions, and settings. You have to pay for it of course, but its still fact.
This is the only thing I care about. So this is basically like BC, right?Smart Delivery
PC optimization is always a bit shoddy in the last 2 or 3 years of a gen, thats because most devs know PC users have good enough PC's to brute force console ports at that point. PC optimization is always better in the first half of a comsole gen, hense how Digital Foundry's 'budget PC' build would run games better than PS4 at the start of the gen, even though it was sporting a GTX750, which is supoposedly less powerful than the gpu in PS4.Yeah, majority of titles will be 30 fps and that's even worse, CPU heavy games will run like dog shit on PC, even 60 fps will be a pipe dream in some titles. ACOr and ACOd are super heavy on CPU side right now and this games are designed to run 30 fps on jaguar.
I'm a PC gamer mainly but future is not looking bright![]()

I hope Sony does something like this. I doubt it since we had to re-buy old games.
Gears 4's story was aboutOn the whole yes, but I admit I could be wrong.
Gears is bloody awful though. Same guns, same reheated story. Just let it go.
I struggled through 4 up until the point that the Felix was in a massive monster vagina and then decided to call it quits.
I won't spoil it for anybody else hear, but Gears 4 and 5 were related in story. Gears 4 was about how Marcus went into hiding after his wife died and his son JD went rogue against the COG along with Kait who's mother Reyna was captured by the new threat to humanity. JD and crew rejoin the COG and seek out Marcus to help deal with the new threat. On the whole yes, but I admit I could be wrong.

Thanks for thatIt's forward compatibility. BC is already there and the console natively plays all OG Xbox through Xbox One games better. Smart Delivery gives you a Xbox Series X version of a game you already bought on the Xbox One.
