Snes had 128+128kb of memory + 1.79 to 3.58MHz cpu
ps1 had 2mb of ram, 1mb of vram, 0.512mb for sound = 11x more of ram
ps2 had 32mb of ram, 294MHz CPU + 147MHz gpu = 16x more of ram or 10,6x if counting ram+vram
ps3 had 256+256 of ram, 3.2GHz cpu + 550 mhz gpu = 16x more of ram
ps4 had 8gb of ram + 1.6? Ghz jaguar + 1.85Tflops gpu = 15,6x more of ram
So PS5 needs to have 80 to 128 gigs of ram to jump to be even on the same level of gens before it (and even 32 would be a day dream)
I didnt check gpu / cpu flops, but if I remember correctly they are around the same ball park aka 10-25x more between gens.
So in raw numbers next gen isnt clearly the biggest jump, it is kind of one of the smallest jumps in raw numbers.
But if looking at what can be achieved with it, then it is nice jump but of course next gen have always been better than the one before it (not counting nintendos slow ass tech)

Now this IS very interesting. However, my fingers wouldn’t touch those new parts on the inner grips very well, so if they are sensors or bottons they won’t work for me, or for little kids even. The new buttons under the dpad and face buttons look like start and share have moved and the entire front at the top could be a touch pad?

This in no way would be a make or break generation for them. They recouped the profits thy lost during ps3 and then some. If thy don't do so hot this gen which is virtually impossible thyll continue gaming.
