Osiris and BG are leaning towards 12.8 TFLOPS which rounding is 13 TFLOPS.

idontbelieveyouwithwillfarrell.gif

im gonna stick with 10-11 TFLOPS.

it's basically leak 8.8-9.2 teraflops vs 11-13 Osiris and BG. I was convinced the leaks would be right. Now i'm 50/50. the last 2 spec leaks from well known insiders were off by a country mile.

Phil Spencer is tweeting about getting shown a Demo of Gears 5 with "enhancements"
basically hinting at a Series X patch that they are showing off.

I wonder how many patches like that will be ready for launch day?
would be kinda cool if the majority of first party titles get upgrades at launch

Maybe they’re actually retrofitting the lifeless world with features from the series all the way back on the 360? Even though below vid is gears5 footage from pc version, it’s still a current gen game designed around console limitations. Jaguar begone!

Some compromises have to be made when they have a much bigger and varried game, gears 5 has a lot more stuff then epics gears game, I think they made the right choice the shooting and combat was great in gears 5 despite there being some changes from previous years games.

Abosolutely, hopefully basic physics and interaction compromises will be a thing of the past with ample cpu power next gen. Having your cake etc.

I only understood Gracias and Hermano (the later because of Breaking Bad). But glad to use Google translate.
Never trust Google translste. It tries to make things friendlier as they are!

Yes, hopefully better tools and tech will minimise compromises, but design will still impact where the focuses are.

Excuse me? That is very insulting of you.

And you're doubling down on the insult?

What are you talking about? Why split my post into 2 and respond to the same post twice as if I made 2 separate posts? You need to stop being disingenuous and framing people. You're pathetic.

I just quoted what Jeff said. I simply agreed because:

It is our own fault this is happening. Our thirst for news has gotten us to twist everything anyone says as confirmation of anything. It's pretty ridiculous and sad actually.

Did he actually claim that the TF number can be found within the clip?

No, it's just people adding up to their believes. It's like in that movie with Jim Carrey, The Number 23, where once pitched the idea ha started to see the number literally everywhere, and the same applies to many many folks here, they'll find a four-leaf clover and still add a philosophy why it means 9 (or 12) TF...

Funny thing would be if it was dev kit flops they've been talking about the whole time. Because we know that they always have beefier specs in the dev kits.
Nope, Sony has a history of having their development kits as powerful as the retail console, the CPUs/GPUs are the same, just maybe a bit more RAM, that's all.

It happened with the PS4 and with the PS4 Pro, PS4's 1.8 TF GPU was known since June 2012, almost a year and a half before Its release and look now, it has a 1.84 TF GPU, now we are less than 9 months before these consoles release, so these development kits that developers have right now are final.

Xbox One X dev kit I believe. 6.6 TF as it has full 44 CUs active running at 1172 MHz. As for the CPU, I think it's probably the same but clocked a bit higher. Not sure about the CPU though.
That is weird and not the norm.
Using a stronger hardware to test a game that will run in a weaker hardware.

The goal of a DevKit is to have the exactly environment of the retail machine.

Because everything else you can do on PC... if you want to run the game in a strong hardware.

Never bad to have headroom for debug, etc. while still maintaining the full performance of the target.

Honestly ps5 is not my concern since we don't know how it will be at the moment. Sorry offended the XsX XD

Hah, no offence here. I'm getting both either way. I just find it funny when people think the xsx is "big" when it's not big, it's tall. It's actually got a small footprint. Think of a gamecube, but a wee bit bigger, and obviously several gamecubes taller.

Equally, we know roughly how powerful the ps5 is - so cooling is going to be a big factor in that too. Unless the ps5 is going for a same tower design as xsx, you can rest assure it'll be bigger than the PS4 pro.

I guess it's a Microsoft thing. There's also Xbox 360 devkit with 1GB RAM. Twice the amount of RAM of the retail unit, just like today we have One X devkit with 24 gigs. Devkits are usually beefier than retail units, even for Sony. That massive PS2 devkit comes to mind.

9.2 it is then! :D

Devs where told to target 10TF for retail last year. Rumor is then they was told target was 11TF Retail. I can’t confirm the 11TF Retail increase because I haven’t seen the documents on it.

In the last week and a Half to 2 weeks Devs have received new Dev Kits/Debug Kits a new revision for PSVR2. The new dev Kit/ debug Kits code names Caesar. For devs with VR games.

Rumor is in the last 3 Months Devs where sent new Debug Kits For PS5 a new revision to all devs.Debut Kits are the PSV dev console.

Also a new DS5 was supposed to be sent to devs. I haven’t Seen them or a pic of them. I don’t know if they have a camera or not in the new DS5 Dev Controllers.
here we go. another insider.

Hi there, check your DMs.

If its 9.2 TFLOPS then what did the 'genius' of lead architect mark cerny truly achieve? oh wait its 13 TFLOPS with FP16 precision, not gcn tflops. :messenger_dizzy::lollipop_grinning::pie_eyeroll::pie_eyeroll:

We don't even know what the circumstances were with the 9.2 TFs, you are looking at an out of context andf out of date information, and get this, Sony was planning to release the PS5 in 2019, so I don't really know every bit of every possible info or decision that Mark Cerny or Sony does in every dev kits, we just have enough info to fill out the unknown blanks, that's it.

KEY SENTENCE: I told you the PS4 dev kits in June 2012, not in 2011, because there were dev kits of PS4/XB1 in 2011, so June 2019 is the new PS5 that's being planned to launch in Holiday 2020.

Andrew Reiner and Arthur Gies both of them knew that XSX is 12 TFlops since around E3 2019, and still, Andrew Reiner said that the PS5 is more powerful than the XSX.

He said that he almost lost his job for saying early ps5 dev kit was better than early series x dev kit. If there is a number there to find, it for sure isn’t the teraflop number. And if it is, he couldn’t tell us. So I don’t know which number we are looking for that we care about and isn’t under nda.

Indeed, normally devkits have more memory due to tools devs need to use, but that's it.

a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend who works for a famous video game development company stated that ps5 makes holographic rainbows, unicorns and stars.

I can finally transform into a princess like I always wanted !!

So he almost lost his job, and now he's posting gif and playing a game to give hints about ps5 specs. forgive me for being cynical but something doesn't sound right.

Personally, I will easily believe Timdog, Rand, Dealer and Jez Corden as they have literally said what Xbox Series X was going to be since December if not earlier, never wavered and have been proven right while on the other side, every single so called PlayStation insider have been full of shit, plain and simple. Ever since 2020 started, it's been one leak after another and all of them have varied while all those Xbox guys have said the exact same shit for months because they already knew. Every week (if not every day), it's a new PlayStation leak/rumor with nothing to back any of it up as well as the fact that every leak and claim is always different. There's no consistency or accuracy whatsoever.

There's not a single PlayStation "insider" that I would even take seriously or believe anything that they say. The only PlayStation guy I would believe at this point would be Colin Moriarty but he rarely if ever says anything outside of Ratchet & Clank 2 which I believe is pretty much a given so instead, I will just wait until Sony officially says/posts/releases something themselves which I don't believe will be until after Microsoft's E3 2020 showcase and that's my own personal gut feeling. With Nioh 2, FF7R and TLOUP2 all before E3, Sony simply doesn't need to reveal any more than what they already have via Wired articles.

Like I said they have more RAM to allow the tools for debug/profiling runs without impact the game.

CPU and GPU are exactly the same.

That X devkit is odd.

Never bad to have headroom for debug, etc. while still maintaining the full performance of the target.
They have more RAM for that (debug, profiling, etc) but the CPU/GPU are the same because you need to have the same retail hardware to optimizations (the goal of the devkits).

So PlayStation is better at keeping secrets then
