Did anyone post this yet?

That's pretty much the moment the foot fully touches the floor and stops moving.
why would that specific point have any significance other than just the number?

I don’t believe so.
They started with only RDNA... next-gen RDNA started late 2019 after the second Wired’s article from Sony.

“Project Scarlett will set a new bar for console power, speed and performance, arriving Holiday 2020 alongside Halo Infinite. Powered by a custom-designed processor, leveraging the latest Zen 2 and Radeon RDNA architecture from our partners at AMD, Project Scarlett will deliver a new level of immersion.”

Ahh good eye they used it before saying rdna 2 though but yeah sie is old we will likely find out tomorrow im sure off it i dont see why it wouldnt be rdna 2 infact it feels like it would have to be rdna 2 to help with power consumption

Man everyone speculating on specs...which is what we all want to know but anyone else really excited for BC? This seems like a long overdue feature that has been on PC since...I don't know? Forever? I'm hoping PS5 is full BC with all their previous consoles. Is it going to be software or hardware emulated? Only thing worrying is PS3. I want full hardware emulation giving 100% BC but that's probably unrealistic.

Seems wasted if it's not full BC and like 40% of each system's library. That would mean only the biggest releases get to be put up as BC.

I am still a firm believer since 2018 that they would be able to do full bc even with ps3.

I would be shocked if that happened. At most, everyone here should expect backwards compatibility for the PS4. Software emulation isn't easy to do considering Microsoft has been doing it for over a decade and many games are still not supported.

Set you expectations low. The Xbox One can't play all Xbox 360 games, and I doubt the PS5 will support all PS4 games. As such, don't sell your Xbone/PS4 expecting all the games you bought to be playable on the PS5. Any and all rumours claiming that the PS5 can play all PS1, 2, and 4 games should be discarded.

I heard it is due to licensing and not because it is hard

That is the exact reason I’m bringing this topic up. Can the SSD improve server load times? How much of it is connection or background loading?
Does anybody have any ideas on the ratio for let’s say Destiny 2 or The Elder Scrolls Online?

I changed my HDD to 2TB that was rated 6Gbps instead of the original 3Gbps. Guess what? I was most of the time the first player to enter in Battlefield 4 and BF1 and always lucky to pick quickly what vehicle I want. And that's HDD vs HDD!🤔 My friends had way faster internet speeds yet they always surprised of how big thr gap between them and me.

And that’s not even completely optimized for an SSD setup.

I did this with the pro. I don't know if it was the 2.1 ghz clockspeed of the cpu or if they had a faster stock hdd but i always got in first and picked the tanks..

Dice actually had to patch it out lmao.

AMD announced the same day.
"This processor builds upon the significant innovation of the AMD Ryzen™ "Zen 2" CPU core and a "Navi" GPU based on next-generation Radeon™ RDNA gaming architecture including hardware-accelerated raytracing.”

Same thing. You don’t actually think its radeon gcn do you?

It's a stretch but the only thing that one could hardly argue is next gen radeon= rdna Next gen rdna obviously rdna 2. But i believe 5700xt was actually announced at the event so it doesnt make sense for either due to there not being an rdna product out at that time.

I bet tomorrow we see "RDNA2 DEVICES"With PS5 AND XBOX LOGO'S on the slide next to each other aha

So you’re telling me that since she spoke only about radeon it means its rdna 1. So what about the lead amd product manager when he spoke of both consoles will use radeon, are you telling me now xsx will use rdna 1? Lol.

Even if it's true, I doubt he can confirm it for the sake of his job.

As others have said however, it looks like the PS5 landed on 13.2 Teraflops. It would make sense considering the length of the clip and where it was spliced between.

Well, that would be incredible as hell and a major marketing angle too. We'll see. I'm a bit doubtful myself, but that's because I really have no cause for intelligent speculation towards ANY particular number. All I really think right now is that both boxes are going to be the same or negligibly different in performance regardless of the specific numbers they attain. And I hope that's the case. I don't want to see more years of arguing about one box rendering at a lower resolution internally or anything like that. Let it be about the ecosystem and the exclusives.

I have to say though that Sony is stirring up the big time fans in a MASTERFUL fashion with this stony silence of theirs. I think that letting MS announce their stuff and features has gotten the MAJOR news for Microsoft out of the way in any case. So that will die down and be a lot lower noise level whenever Sony finally drops the curtain. Is thus allowing THEM to control more of that volume of noise rather than getting into some back and forth battle with MS. It's actually very smart marketing on their part, I think. It's frustrating as HELL, because I want to KNOW...but I think it's smart marketing.

Ok, gonna post this now for coverage.

I posted the TF count previously that I was told about, and that still stands for myself. For the record the number I was given was an 11.6 (previously lower slightly, was worked around and now seems to be there).

But tomorrow is the 5th, and that’s when I was told things were happening, as I mentioned over the last few days. Now I’ll be up front and honest here, I don’t actually know “what” that means. It looks very likely that it may be confirmation of something at the AMD event and he was possibly alluding to that, be it something spec related, a nugget of info, or RDNA talk.

It could also be a possible avenue for Sony themselves to share more details. All I *believe* is something will be said, which is I know isn’t a lot to go on... meh...

Anyway, as one of us, I hope we all get something tomorrow, even if it’s a small nugget of info. Anything is better than nothing. 👍🏻

You are our new savior! I smell something like an ancient Greek armpit aroma?👃

Maybe the CPU as well, but had that advantage with the original PS4 as well. PS4 Pro doesn't have a faster HDD anyway, both are 3Gb/s (Gigabits not Gigabytes) and nearly all of the aftermarket HDD's are 6Gb/s!

It makes a huge difference for me. Playing Oblivion or FO:NV on the X is night and day. Instead of sometimes almost a minute of load time it's now only a few seconds. It makes those games SOOOO much more enjoyable to play.

Back when they came out on the 360, I used to get dread fast travel or simply entering a building and I'd get really irritated when I walked into the wrong building by mistake because of the looooong load times.

From what we've heard, with the SSDs that frustration should be eliminated and I'm all for it. I don't even care if it does anything else to enhance games.
I had an Atari with a cassette player. Loading a game took from 10 to 30 minutes. I was able to play the biggest games (in terms of size) only when I'd switched off the fridge because a drop in electricity circuit meant getting a loading error. My mother would give me hard time when I switched off the fridge and forgot about it.

You kids have it easy nowadays!

SSD makes your life much easier. I have 512 GB external SSD for PS4P and it does wonders to loading times in almost all games. Some load up to 2 times faster.
