Haha... well that ends that. You boys and your chasing clouds13.8...
@BGs you missed the most important event over the last few days...
![]()
I'm probably just stretching, but what if it's hint on BC on PS5?
I ... thought you said that the 13.8 number you said days ago was a joke.Written from the phone in the subway.
I will use this message to respond in general to almost everyone .
In reference to your message I do not know if I have understood your concerns well, but if I keep posting here it is because I own my life and follow the rules.
I have not republished anything that I could not from that slip in which I was warned of the consequences that could have if this continued along that path. And not by publishing it here, but because it became news.
There were no consequences because what I said was something that was already known (I will not give details).
Then what you want to believe or not is your business and I respect it. I sleep very quiet.
In the same way, do you really think that in the Gif I have put some data that I cannot say? We are always with the same problem, each one interprets what they want to read.
I said "do you want to play a game? There is a hidden number, the one who guesses right will have a prize."
And the number is 13.8, the same as I always say.
And for those who are interested, it was obtained like this ... I am European, therefore I am used to the PAL system. The GIF is at 25fps. If you import it in Premiere (for example) in a sequence of 25fps but interpret the GIF as 50 (pal) the result is approximately 11:05 (if I remember correctly). If you multiply it by 1.25x (amd) you get 13.8 (same number I always joke with).
End of the game.
I will not be able to respond to everyone, but let it not be said that I have not responded to you.
For others, I have not been able to look at all the pages and I don't know what has happened in the last hours. I'll look at it little by little. When I can I answer you here or by PM.
Cheers.

Time ends when official PS5 data comes out.
WAIT!
Do I understand that correctly? Cause you said...
But, to my pleasure, I discovered that we got higher resolution and better colors via RGB scart. The real problem was pseudo-double buffer VSYNC, which can only switch between integer submultiples of the refresh rate , so in the NTSC regions it went from 30 to 20,15,12,10,6,5,4,3,2 and 1, meanwhile in Europe we went from 25 to 10,5,2,1. For every framerate drop, you get 20 in the US, and 10 in EU.13.8GB RAM, after the OS has gobbled up its share
Ah, 50hz. Or "50 hurts" as we used to say, because back in the day us Europeans had to put up with lower frame rates than our US and Japanese friends![]()
Do you think consoles are used only for games? It's affordable hardware for many other realtime graphics purposes. The problem is they're closed systems but sometimes you can get a deal even if your company doesn't make games. The primary reason for Linux on PS3 was server farms (for the military, IIRC) and when it became obsolete and hackers started poking around, they scrapped it. Why wouldn't they sell more hardware if possible?
I think this will be a bit earlier, when her toes touch the ground so less flops. Damn, I was thinking about allusions or references instead of downloading a GIF editor and checking the hard data.
360 to X1 was a big architecture change. It's quite amazing actually how well Microsoft managed to emulate one with another. Also PS3 to PS4 was an even bigger architectural change and much more difficult job to emulate SPUs. PS4 to PS5 and X1 to XSX will be much easier. If anything, PS3 emulation is going to be a bitch. Personally, I don't see the appeal and reason to play those low-res, jaggy games from PS3 era again but that's me.
Your HDD upgrade was noticeable probably because it's a 7200 RPM drive as compared to 5400 RPM stock drive (they're a bit cheaper so you get that in standard). Those have better seek times (SSD has them much better). The bottleneck of storage in PS4 is SATA2 bus (3 GB/s) so your SATA3 drive can't work faster. Fun fact: external SSD in PS4Pro is a bit faster than when you install it internally. I don't remember the exact reason (must be something with the USB controller) but it's even more convenient to put an external drive next to the console than replace the internal one. Plus you don't have to spend big on 2 TB SSD (still around the price of the console, I guess). I keep the games I play most often on it and move some games there and back or just re-download them. The problem is, it usually me takes longer to install (it's called "copying") the game than to download it. Another problem is that games when patched need double their size of space on the drive so when I'm matching a motherfucker of BFV for example, it's over 200 GB (half of my SSD) I need. PS4 storage hardware and software (file system) is ancient right now and that new tech in PS5 is my biggest expectation, much more important for me than the puberty issue.
Fanboy idiots are on every platform. They should be wishing 9th gen consoles to be as fast as possible because it will translate into better ports of AAA games for them. For which they'll have to buy hardware worth thousands but nobody said having a long e-penis is cheap (and I was into that mustard race myself years ago, boy, was I stupid).
I'm probably just stretching, but what if it's hint on BC on PS5?
It is a joke, that's why the number gussing was a GAME, not official announcement. And I like the game, it made the long waiting more interesting.I ... thought you said that the 13.8 number you said days ago was a joke.
I ... am confused right now.
Voted for 13 TFs months ago, but ... still confused.
where did they pluck 14 Tflops from?
1:00 PM PSTWhen is this AMD event happening today?
I have not heard anything about it on the grapevine?
I'm probably just stretching, but what if it's hint on BC on PS5?
The NUMBER has nothing to do with PS5(I suppose), because a number is a number.13.08 can be 8 March, 13h?
Or can be 13 August?
1:00 PM PST
Lmfao oh shit I think we r going too deepThe green background at 2 seconds in , might mean playstation are partnering with Xbox for sharing exclusives!
So what do you expect to come from itWell folks... Tonights the night... and its going to happen again, and again...

Remember what I said folks, keep your expectations in check, and if nothing comes of all this, I apologise. Could be anything. Could be nothing. Could be one system that goes for the other. Could be a load of hot air. I'm suited up just in case, and will greet you all with a smile (as your roasting me alive no doubt), and will not be doing a Fisher.

Look at that chunky exhaust fan cooling DevKit. It's no wonder PS4s were always sounding like a jet engine and heating up with their scrapped down few cents edition cooling. I hope Sony learned their lessons, cause if PS5 is not as silent as the One X they will not hear the end of it and personally I'll feel let down after current gen debacle. I don't care if it is 9.2TF or thereabouts I want that fucking thing silent as a dead mouse and cool as a cucumber.PS4 Pro Dev Kit

I'm under the mantra now that until I get my email from sony directly nothings going to happen. If it's on at a reasonable time I will watch what AMD are showing (if indeed they do live stream something) just for general interest of what they are doing in the pc space. If i get some next gen news all good.Well folks... Tonights the night... and its going to happen again, and again...

AMD Financial Analyst Day 2020Is there a link or something? What's the event called?
Is there a link or something? What's the event called?
You should check out previous years. It's more than just financial information. They do discuss tech stuff and roadmaps.![]()
It's just a financial analyst day, these sort of things they give juicy tech details, they will probably just say "we expect higher revenues due to next gen consoles.
I bet it's going to be a nothing burger.
I Nelly don't know what that entails but I just hope for a real premium piece of cooling like vapor chamber, like the one on the One X, if they could do it for last gen, Sony can do it for PS5...Well we know ps5 is using premium cooling solution
Maybe, but it's still funny to imagine some sweating and shaking fanboys during the event.![]()

The thing that gets me about that PS4 pro design is the fan... is on the bottom. So is that fan an intake, or an outtake fan? Because for heat, you want to get the hot air out as soon as possible while getting the cold air in. Basic engineering will tell you that once you remove the air from the board by pushing it out, cool outer air will fill its gap, and so you place the fan where the heat is expelled (because heat rises), i.e. on TOP.... Yet that fan is on the bottom...? Can somebody explain this one to me? You don't set up a single fan to bring cold air in, because that won't remove the hot air correctly...? Am I being thick here? If so, somebody explain please!
Xbox is useless, gonna play all my Xbox games on PC.
Man everyone speculating on specs...which is what we all want to know but anyone else really excited for BC? This seems like a long overdue feature that has been on PC since...I don't know? Forever? I'm hoping PS5 is full BC with all their previous consoles. Is it going to be software or hardware emulated? Only thing worrying is PS3. I want full hardware emulation giving 100% BC but that's probably unrealistic.
Seems wasted if it's not full BC and like 40% of each system's library. That would mean only the biggest releases get to be put up as BC.

Is Sony attending it ? Like cerny ?Original expectations were it could have been a game reveal, as the person with the deets has been going on about it in that light, as I would see soon enough. But realistic expectations were a spec reveal, something like a shadow drop info clump like MS did. As soon as I posted, I see AMD are doing their usual live show, and now that I think about the two they fit. So a realistic, up to date expectation would be that you won't get a big reveal, you wont get a full spec reveal (and quite simply WONT get on until release to keep the guessing going), but you will get small info dumps like the CPU powering the next gen system(s), RDNA 2 clarification (RDNA 1? RDNA 2? Or as I expect, RDNA 1.9, with whats needed bolted on for the spec size?).
So, expect nothing, because I wouldn't be the first to say something could happen but didn't. But keep your fingers crossed for at least something. I would be VERY shocked if today we don't have at least something new.
It is an intake fan. But the problem isn't wholly the fan, yes it lacks proper ventilation space for ample air to pull, but the heat sink that is in front of the fan is very small. And after heat sink it goes through the PSU in not a straight fashion, so some hot air is always stuck there, since the exhaust ports are also not ample. There is also the issue that on top of the back of the unit, there are some flaws that lets in hot air towards the inside of the unit and should be sealed by users....The thing that gets me about that PS4 pro design is the fan... is on the bottom. Actually it's looked pretty juicy in 2017, maybe this will be juicy after all.
I'm confused.
Aren't 1:00 PM PST equals 3:00 PM CST ?
Edit : PST is UTC -8:00 and CST is UTC -6:00

I think it's better we have a new thread for it.AMD Financial Analyst Day 2020
Edit: We can even ask some questions, but with crazy ppl here I know nearly none will be featured there let alone answered lol
Mod of War can we have a thread mark or something for ppl who want to watch this thing? It can be easily found.

Have you watched any of their previous offerings, cause there were some real juicy bits there in the last few years financial analyst days.
