It will work for some maybe not you but that is enough for Sony.
They want to create interest to their platform from a parcel of PC users that never played their games to make they realize that is nice to have a PS5.
And I disagree PC gamers can be very impulsive depend of each one.

I think it is delusional mainly because Hulst stated that is not going to be the case. Horizon is there just to see if they can have some people from the PC world come to the PS, and also, they're probably going to make an extra profit, which is never a bad thing. But he clearly said no day & date releases on PC. Some years down the road? Well, I guess the future will tell, but right now, he said clearly that it's not happening.

Because we don't know how far will go. We can stay here all day saying "WE KnoW WHeRe THiS GoeS" but we don't. If exclusives are the ONLY thing that kept him on PS, then he probably should have taken a PC ages ago with all the benefit with it. Consoles and PCs are not about exclusives, masses are never going to embrace PCs in the near future, it's a completely different ecosystem.

do you think those interested in HZD have waited 3 years? no if they were interested they already bought ps4 and played the game. yes they will get more sales from pc players but they won't get into PlayStation after playing only one game. they will wait for more games to come to pc

Exactly, I swear I don't know why people are treating this like Sony announced the release date of their entire catalogue. He said this was a PARTICULAR case, and I am sure Playstation understands the value exclusives have on brand image and name.

Also they could have minimalise the backlash if they had given something to PS fans like specs of PS5

I still think it comes down to a few things. One of them is the know-how of building a custom PC with everything you need to run games at their maximum potential (I guess?) Some Consumers wouldn't know where to even start, let alone trying to obtain the funds for that never-ending investment. There's People out there waiting for $5 sales on games - I doubt they could even invest in high-end PCs.
I mean...I know little things here and there with my PC (I just put in a graphics card in their the other month for my dual monitor), but not to the point where I'd build a Computer from the ground up and game on it. Maybe it's simple - I don't know. For me, I have a PC dedicated to music production, so I personally would avoid pushing other taxing features on it.
Could you say, 'tough shit?' sure, I guess. But nothing is simpler than buying the Console at the fixed asking price, put a physical disc in or buying digital, run the game(s). Done. Also, the other question is (playing both sides of the coin), would you want to wait 3+ years for a game to come to PC, or end up having both platforms and get it once it's available? Hell, there's some games that never make it to PC. Maybe they'll come sooner. Death Stranding is showing that a game like that can make it's way to PC within a year after Console. Guess it just depends on the title.

The concern is PS fans being slighted by Sony for “betraying” them with first party games on other platforms.
Somehow a PC gamer playing a 3 year old game is a slap to the face.
The Sony exec even had to chime in with a statement saying this is experimental and fully distributing first party games on other other platforms is not a focus. The guy even starts it off saying something like “putting your mind at ease” because even he knows the news of Horizon on PC would be a wild storm or comments.
there's nothing wrong with a three year old game going to pc. BUT if they do day and date then we have serious problemI dont understand this fuss about HZD coming to PC. Are people that blinded by fanatism that they feel hurt that more people will enjoy a good game?

IMO if Sony can port games later and the get more money they should do it .

I always thought PS2 CPU was fast because of 128-bit capabilities? You say gta wasnt a fair comparison, but it's not MS fault sony build PS2 hardware without HDD. At least GTA Vice City port on xbox looks comparable to PS2 version. I could always compare Splinter Cell games, but then PS2 hardware would look extremely bad in comparison
.There were impressive looking fog effects in GTA 3-VC-SA and I have only noticed performance problems in fillrate heavy scenes with a lot of smoke or rain effects, but overall gta games run much better on xbox. Solid 30fps with dips only during smoke heavy scenes on xbox was still better than constant streaming pauses and fps dips during entire game on PS2. I have played GTA games for the first time on PS2 and I was still able to enjoy them fully, but xbox ports were clearly better.

I think what everyone wants to know is whether their games going to PC will affect their quality. The rest is just warring on a piece of plastic. I don't see myself giving up PlayStation and going to PC, I'm too old and tired about configuring and tuning PC parts, drivers and software and I love the convenience of sitting on the couch, turning on the TV and just play a game.

I think it can bring some people to the PS fold. Obviously, it won't be by the millions, but I don't think it's a bad idea, and I would think, besides what Hulst said, that people at Sony positively know that a great deal of PS4's success is based on exclusives. Guy literally tried his best to keep shit from stirring up. Blatantly says that porting is not the usual strategy and people still make it seem like Sonys entire catalogue is coming to PC day and date.

Maybe if they were day and date but late ports would not have that effect .

You mean the blades used in the data center? Unless MS gave up on 4k streaming, that's a good point.Said it before but I think there is a very good chance that Lockhart is Project xCloud.
It would explain why nobody has spoke of it yet and why AMD pointed to xCloud as hardware they're working on.

For me, it is such an odd behaviour....to be upset about this. I rate my current-gen platforms as follows;
1. Xbox One X - I play most on this platform
2. PS4 Pro - Sony exclusives only
3. Gaming PC - some RTS games
I don't play Xbox games that are also available on PC as for me is too much hassle and prefer console "experience". I have HZD on PS4, and even if PC version will be better I still will probably play it on PS4 - experience is different. I understand the points listed in this thread but I cannot comprehend why some Sony fanboys are so pissed.
Anyhow, any Lockhart news today?

All the previews for XCloud have been no higher than 720p so thy have a long way to go.and even at 720p there is input lag to consider4K streaming?

I think that 720p will be the default streaming resolution for mobile. I expect it to go up to 4K when streaming via console/PC. (it is only me guessing)

Normal people who like playing games on various platforms are happy, because after all Horizon on PC will look and run better. Fanboys are crying, but Horizon is already old game and I doubt sony will port all their exclusive games day one from now on. So people still will be forced to buy playstation just to play sony exclusives, and who will want to wait 3-4 years just to be able to play playstation ports on PC?
