Doesn't seem to be spreading in the hot equatorial climates. There have not been major outbreaks in the southern hemisphere.
Experts believe, like influenza it survives longer in cold weather.
citation needed. Seeing how MERS started in the middle east in 40+C heat, and this is also a corona virus like MERS, there is nothing to suggest it will go down in the summer.

that would explain why the touch pad sticks out on the top so much and why it is now completely flat instead of the curved one on the DS4

It can slow down, adapt then come back stronger, that's the main concern here. It can be pretty fatal if it happens and spreads way more fast as well.

the possibilities are that it gets either more dangerous with mutations or it gets more harmless with mutations.

it could be that it will just become an alternative version of the common flu and it will just hang around like the common cold, which is also a type of corona virus.

or it will become really dangerous in which case scientists hopefully get a vaccine developed fast.

I can't be the only one that's incredibly impressed with Sony's ability to keep a lid on any concrete details about the PS5. Considering the extreme interest and the many possible holes for leaks, this is ridiculously impressive.

well we have images of dev kits and the controller's along with hardware test data, even if it's incomplete data.

so honestly the only thing that's really left is the final retail design and the completed picture of the tests we got.

but yes, compared to the last time around AND ESPECIALLY COMPARED TO THE PS4 SLIM LOL (that was hilarious) it's not as much info as you'd think we have by now.

Sorry, but I'm done with the steady conveyor belt of insiders now. I mean this latest one seems to be saying anything from 'around 10TF' to now being 11.5-13TF and things like 'PSVR2 overhead' over a 3 week period. I just don't believe any claims that say the target spec changes multiple times in 3 months. Devs wouldn't know which way was up!

Andrew Reiner said last June the PS5 target specs were above Scarlett which I believe would've been well after the 12+/4+TF leaks that were then confirmed months later.
Absolutely this. Nothing is confirmed until it's official.

You guys wear me out it's not MERS...
Just look at the numbers you'll see a pattern do some fucking research yourselves

This might be a dumb question. But why did the game reporters stop commenting on shit after the XSX was revealed?

We had (I think the Eurogamer guy and others) leaks about how slow MS was with communication, how strong the PS5 was, et al. But I haven’t heard shit since. Did their sources run dry all of a sudden? Did Sony threaten them to even reveal rumors?

I already had a valve index but the oculus quest is the best gaming purchase I made in years. Wireless is a breath of fresh air. Just wish the screen was higher resolution but beat saber is amazing as are vr 180 degrees videos that let me be whereever i want and see whatever i want.

The ps5 and psvr2 need wifi direct and 4k displays and it would be THE killer app.

I been considering getting ps vr 2 if the QoL is greatly improved n is powerful. Had the chance recently to try out Re7 in VR n Jesus.... Damn I hope that Silent Hill rumor is true and it has VR support

I honestly think because of Corona everyone is just giving up on it for now.

Sorry .But all this past rumors for ps5 gpu. i think is a big joke..Whe hope sony to release the real specs (for ps5 soon). To stop this fake nonsene.
Come on sony tell us something

I think that leak said "surprise 15" like they were seeing how high they could go, not that it would literally be 15. I'd have to see it again.

But if they somehow managed 15TF and launched with that, what an egregious meltdown would unfold.

I'd buy a window AC to blow straight on it..no way they could cool a box like that.

Wait, no. I wouldn't buy the AC because the system would be like 800 bucks and I'd be broke waiting for it to melt and then be out of money and a system, lol.

I am way way way more interested in Low latency wifi direct for PS VR2 than I am in the the PS5 Teraflop number.

I hope ps5 has a low latency direct wifi chip built in that can stream 4k resolution wirelessly to psvr2.

A wireless psvr2 similar to the oculus quest that gets the image from ps5 would be amazing.

Pair dual 4k screens with surround sound and haptic controls and you can have vr experience that are damn near life like simulations.

Why not license Oculus as well and get some spare money out of those chasing perfection?

Putting to one side the final TF metric for PS5 – that we won’t know until we know. I’m still really interested in the design ethos for each console and specially the clocks chosen for the CPU and GPU, and how they vary between current gen game use and the PS3/360 gen use – assuming we are getting hardware B/C.

The clocks for last-gen CPUs were really interesting (IMHO) because they pitched at a level that made easy B/C impossible for the PS3 on PS4 and even though it was a simpler case on the 360 and the One – which I’ll explain in a second – with game industry distilling game logic for games into a single general purpose CPU core (with 2 hardware threads) running at 3.6GHz (on both systems) the APUs on PS4/One had no way of accommodating those main loop workloads across multi-core using half the clock speed without game re-engineering(cross gen patching on ps4) or extensive emulation work(Xbox One).

For the Xbox 360 its multi-core CPU for the most part had been a waste of die-space, because the Silicon Knights complaint of the original Unreal engine 3 powered Gears of war using multi-core rendering meant the 2nd and 3rd general purpose cores were do rendering workloads they weren’t suited to run, and presumably did so on all UE3 games there after, just for any extra rendering help they could give the xenos. So moving those games’ workloads to Xbox One CPU compute cores resulted in better performance because they were already light workloads and would be perfectly suited to APU cores in the emulation (AFAIK).

The PS3 unfortunately couldn’t do the same, as the SPU cores were similar efficiency as the APU cores, but had twice the clockspeed – and there were 6 SPUs and only 6 spare APU cores available and they were running at half the clock speed – so although much of those workloads in cross-gen patched games could be moved to the PS4 GPU, some of them just couldn’t because of clockspeed. An excellent comparison of Journey on PS3 versus PS4 by DF highlighted the removed workload in the higher resolution PS4 version. Playing through the Last Guardian also has at least one water section puzzle in which major slow down occurs that I would be shocked if the code that does water physics simulation in the unreleased PS3 version doesn’t run perfectly– and this brings me on to my last points.

PS3 and 360 gen clockspeeds aren’t power efficient for hot APU chips, so if Sony and Microsoft did allow the APU cores(in PS5/XsX) to run that high, would they limit them doing it when they were using a specific B/C mode that downclocked the GPU massively to keep the APU cool? If not, are higher clockspeeds an essential part of RT workloads ? Does going higher clock on CPU and GPU help reduce things like memory thrashing - by giving CUs enough clock cycles per frame to get work done in time with less memory redundancy acceses?

The Xbox Series X is going to feature the most complex system on chip for gaming consoles created so far, according to a recent reveal.

Twitter user @blueisviolet recently discovered on the LinkedIn page of an AMD SOC development lead that the Xbox Series X is going to feature a complex SOC that will consist of multiple CPU clusters, with multiple CPU cores in each cluster using both x86 and ARM cores. The SOC also uses the latest 7nm technology process.

He always do that. For what porpuse I still don't know.

Perhaps just one reason is because one can not (or will not) summarize the intricacies or this kind of subject matter in 2-3 sentences. It’s just reading at the end of the day. I love it.

Can just imagine Cerny has got some hardware based witchcraft going on that can turn on and off CUs on the fly as and where needed during gaming, making everyone on this board both simultaneously right and wrong and blowing apart reality as we know it.

They will probably wait till after the Corona craziness dies down a little. I wouldn't expect much until at LEAST may at this point. Nobody would even talk about it at this point. Hell nobody is talking about XSX and it already blew it's wad on announcements

Anyone think with possible limited supply of next-gen Consoles that Retailers will ask for the full amount to secure a unit at launch? Not sure how it is with online Retailers, but with a place like Gamestop and/or local shops, they usually ask for $100 deposits. Would not be surprised if the full amount is asked prior.

That would increase my chances of getting one so I'd be all for it!
