I'm kinda wondering when Sony is going to do some kind of bombastic reveal, not even price just like the overall form factor, and maybe some games reveal? Cause at this point Sony is dead silent, and Corona virus kinda killed the whole: We are going to go to hundreds of community events to promote the PlayStation brand.

Sony employees, have been giving fake info to insiders. It's conceivable that he was played by his sony source, who previously gave him the good news. It's also possible that his friend told him to stop and he knew he couldn't keep his mouth shut so got banned to save himself.

Whats pretty clear is although Tommy gave you some really good news that was 100% correct, better than other so called xbox insiders, but because this information also comes with the caveat that the PS5 is stronger, you don't like the man or what he's said.
The man was spot on for god sake, not close, not in the ball park, not +-0.5 tflops which all would be acceptable margins.

It's like having the fine print in the bottom of the letter to save your ass incase the title is wrong. Then they can say "no we said OUR most powerful console, look at the fine print.

first of all, compare the load times of these games on their native platform.
then remember that this is literally running on backwards compatibility and was not specifically ported or optimised for Series X.
the interesting metric is not how fast the final time of loading is, the real metric should be how fast it is compared to the original hardware.

SOD2 takes 32 seconds approx to start up in One X. It goes down to 8 seconds in Series X. So 4 times faster.
Spiderman takes 8 seconds to load in PS4 Pro. In the Ps5 dev kit it takes only 0.8 seconds. So 10 times faster.
So, PS5s SSD is potentially twice as fast as Series X SSD, not 10 times. And since the games are different and we don't know what HDDs were in both the PS4 Pro and One X, we should take this comparison with a big grain of salt.

ps5 comparison was 18x though. spiderman fast travel on ps4 was 15 seconds. on ps5 it was 0.8 seconds.
state of decay was 50 seconds on xbox one. on series x is 9 seconds. 5.5x.

That sounds very expensive, and i'm not even sure you would need all that. A full 16gb for games would be very nice though, especially with XSX having 13.5gb for games.

Anyway yeah, in hindsight I can probably see why they did what they did if it was to throw any MS/Sony higher-ups off their tail. Which means I doubt they'll pop back in under that old account because there's too much heat on it now.

I've seen quite a few comments regarding Microsoft releasing all the info now. My 2 cents:
MS shot themselves in the foot. I fully believe that when they saw that Sony was not releasing any info, they thought Sony is in panic mode. While this is possible, if Sony was in panic mode, they would have probably be much more reactive. They are not, which indicates they are super confident in their product. MS read it otherwise, and has been flooding the market.
Nothing wrong with this approach, tbh, but the timing is awful! We have covid-19, 6 months or more until release. They are basically using all their jokers all at once. It can work spectacularly well if Sony really has a lesser product, but if Sony has the better product, MS risks being absolutely destroyed.
I sincerely hope both consoles fare well, because I want gamers to win, and I'm a Sony fan.

And since both consoles will be similar in terms of performance, it hardly matters if XSeX should be a little weaker - the difference will not be very big.
