What if Tommy Fisher knew the exact XsX specs but not the PS5... he threw out "ps5 is more powerful" type leak to get people hyped for ps5 and then self banned to avoid the meltdown when the XsX became true but the ps5 did not?

Sony and 2.0Ghz? Here we go again with hair dryer and vacuum cleaner noises.
XsX does NOT HAVE Wifi6![]()
Regards to the CPU clock I meant to say the 3.8 clock was NOT expected. This isn't it.
Well from bloomberg we know they have premium cooling system so hopefully that helpsSony and 2.0Ghz? Here we go again with hair dryer and vacuum cleaner noises.
How have they moved from the 12TF angle if that in fact was just them stating 12TF and the actual specs are even slightly above that (12.14)? They weren't stating 12TF and also stating "most powerful" alongside with it. Really if anyone was taking that interpretation, it was us.
We also know that console specs alone don't mean anything if the games aren't there, so I'm assuming MS are getting specs out of the way mainly to put a spotlight on the games once the time comes for those a little later this year. Whether or not they've been speaking specs this soon as some hint they have the more powerful system could never be absolutely gauged anyhow, nor is it really ultimately important whether that turns out to be part of the case or not, because it wouldn't have been the main motivation or factor, either.

I may be talking out of my ass, but didn't the new promotion material (ignore tech specs, those are not promo things) ignore the 12tf?
And I'm just purely talking marketing here. MS is pushing the power angle, not the game angle. They may have that one up their sleeve, but historically PS has had the better exclusives. If they don't nail the power angle, it WILL backfire hugely.
My opinion is: this is a very risky marketing strategy that can backfire. I don't care if it does, because MS selling 10 or 100M means nothing to me, but it will mean to them.
I couldn't read the rest of the sheet.

Sony filed the patent last year for a cartridge looks similar to XSX expansion cardhttp://www.pushsquare.com/news/2019...tion_cartridge_upgradable_ssd_storage_for_ps5
Sony and 2.0Ghz? Here we go again with hair dryer and vacuum cleaner noises.
Microsoft have locked their specs down, and are ready to manufacturer... Sony will have too, but if Sony remain silent then I would think the PS5 is less in power over the XSX and Sony.
The die leaks to the XSX have been correct... The leaks of the PS5 die have been smaller, smaller die less CU's
That's why I think the PS5 will be 9.2tfs 36CUs, high clock hence elaborate cooling solution.
The CPU in the XSX is locked at 3.8 which was expected... Will be interesting what the CPU on the PS5 will be clocked at
I would love both consoles to be close in power.. But I just don't see it, until Sony confirm one way or the other![]()
If XsX does not have Wifi6 then PS5 wont have it either!!!
why????????????????
The leaks have not been correct at all, at least the "github" ones you are basing yourself on. The CU count for the XBox was 56 (probably 4 disabled, meaning 60 total) and the clocks were way lower. The PS5 leaks are for a regression test, we don't know if it's the full chip.
In the end, the PS5 may end up being 9.2TF, but the leaks are not correct in regards to what is now known.
Well to be fair its sonys fault they got so close to MS . Do you want them to drop the opportunity to reveal xsx to cover rdna2 for ps5 when sony hasn't talked yet ?I had some respect for John, I mean I loved the guys retro work. But deflecting what he was asked about DF covering PS5 and RDNA2... now here he is parading the Series X. Dont worry DF, now we know why you want to keep touting Github and RDNA1. Or even GCN.
13.5 for games. They stated how the resume feature works and that game state is held on nvme sdd. Also 100gb of data is paged in a way for quick access to be used as a virtual ram (cache) for texture streaming to alleviate ram capacity concerns. Cool if it works well. I expect something similar for Sony.- 10 GB for games
- 3.5 GB most likely used for the resume feature
- 2.5 for the OS
So we effectively have 10GB for games. Is this going to last a whole generation?
Oh boy he is allready exposed and had loosing his face badly same goes for Amateurelite formerly known as "Proelite"He'll still be on B3D claiming this site is full of fake insiders who don't know what they are talking about though......
As we all know you are reading this, R600/AbsoluteBeginner, you're a clown.
Everything makes sense know
Castlevania exclusive on PS5
Or I'm crazy.
Totally, this was the biggest surprise since I don't think anyone saw it coming.Regards to the CPU clock I meant to say the 3.8 clock was NOT expected.
Yeah I'm imagining ERA mods, admins and "favored posters" are pretty mad right now that Tommy didn't post that leak over there. Of course it's super-easy to say in hindsight tho I can't deny it's kinda tasty seeing karma do its thing.
I don't know why they'd need to reiterate 12TF when they have established that already weeks ago, and the DF video gives the number anyhow. Dunno what promotional material you're talking about, I've just watched the latest DF video on it.
As far as exclusives go, honestly I think it's debatable because it depends on how far we're going back, and whether you count only 1st-party studios or throw 3rd-party exclusives into the mix. Sony definitely had the better exclusives this gen overall in most areas, particularly single-player story-driven games, but they didn't start this gen off very strongly outside of say InFamous 2nd Son; it took until Bloodborne and Uncharted 4 for the 1st party games to hit a consistent quality.
And if the news with Naughty Dog's shitty work environment (and questionable junior-to-senior team ratio and turnover) news is true, then we shouldn't go into next gen just automatically assuming the state of 1st-party titles between Sony and MS will stay the same as it's been this current gen, either. Especially seeing how a lot of top Sony talent are now at MS studios like The Initiative, and we've already seen what really good teams like Ninja Theory can do on small team sizes and simply modest budgets (people tend to forget Hellblade only had like $12 million for its budget and a really small team size, probably smaller than Shenmue III's, even).
So that front is actually up in the air going into next-gen.
Well to be fair its sonys fault they got so close to MS . Do you want them to drop the opportunity to reveal xsx to cover rdna2 for ps5 when sony hasn't talked yet ?
Lets be realistic
Yup.OK guys. Man up.
Which posters out there bashed Tommy Fisher as a no nothing troller? Time to apologize.
The guy's TF, CU count, RDNA and even GPU clockspeed were spot on.
On the plus side for you Sony fans, if he's this accurate for SeX, his PS5 claim of 13.3TF might be true too.
You forgot Silent Hill(s).WTF WTTTFFFFFFFFFFf WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
No way it's true, that would be too good to be true
But for fun:
"So calm this spooky night. A symphony of rumors - not one, but two - return from shadow. A resistance to dart home as black monsters escape twisted hills to wander lands and syphon souls. Filter your candy collections, soft from solid, and be eco-friendly. Have a metal Halloween. "
So many well know & iconic games you can get from that Bluepoint tweet:
Castlevania Symphony of Night
Syphon Filter
Metal Gear Solid
Demon Souls
Twisted Metal
Eco-Friendly = Ico?
still for hard to believe Sony would buy the IPs from Konami, i think they still do some money from those in those Pachinko machines. Tho i can see a deal for an exclusive/ or time exclusive game like they did with Crash Bandicoot Reboot.
Xbox One X dev kits used the whole chip with all CUs active.
meaning it would make perfect sense for git hub tests for dev kits to run 56CUs while the final retail hardware only has 52 active.
clocks can change all the time. it makes sense to slowly raise them and see if the system still runs stable enough.
nothing in today's news changes anything about that leaked GPU test.
active CU counts and clock speeds are the easiest to change, you can literally change that with the push of a button.
so months old tests using lower clocks isn't something that's in any way impossible, and since MS uses all CUs in dev kits it's also not at all weird to see tests with 56 CUs active
You would like to think that I'm sure.Microsoft have locked their specs down, and are ready to manufacturer... Sony will have too, but if Sony remain silent then I would think the PS5 is less in power over the XSX and Sony.![]()
Actually, they have started calling it 'The' most powerful console. You would like to think that I'm sure.
But one company is in a rush to get their information out before the other.
If what you said had any sort of truth to it, 100% sure they would be shouting they have built the most powerful console ever from the roof tops. Yet they aren't.
Still only referring to at as "our most powerful"
Sony's silence is simple, they don't feel like announcing while the world is suffering.
They were due to announce in Feb, plans change. MS are using their silence to get as much mindshare as they possibly can as they know even if PS5 is less powerful (Which they currently don't think will be) PlayStation as a brand are going to steamroller anything they've announced to everyone other than hardcore gamers.
You really think MS wanted series x to be laid bare before the end of march?
Well, let's start by ascertaining that once you fire a marketing plot, you stick with it. If you are selling 12TF, it needs to be slapped everywhere. Just look at Apple as a very big example on marketing and (subpar) quality.
As for games, another discussion, another place, but interesting that you say a lot of Sony staff moved to MS and then all the news regarding the "shady work environments". I know they exist, but I find the timing amazing.
Anyway, let's hope for two equally powerful machines that can provide us with amazing content for 6 or 7 years.
So what you are saying is that stuff changes all the time and that the GitHub leaks regarding the PS5 may not correspond to the actual true console. Good, just to be clear.
Also, it makes no sense to be testing the full CU count on a lower clock when YOU KNOW you will need to cut 4 or 6 CU's for yield reasons. It's like testing a car in a wind tunel with a super duper spoiler, tune the aero, and then remove it and release it.
Pretty sure it's Demon's Souls. Even Jason Scheier is hinting at it.I think Bluepoint Games are just trolling us since they've been hinting at ton of games. They are probably just having fun with all the rumours. I think they are remaking Silent Hill which fits with their re-imagining comment they made a while back.
I agree with thisAlthough I prefer PlayStation over Xbox, I wasn't inclined to believe PS to be 13TF. I was expecting something 11~11.5 this whole time. But this Tommy Fisher dude leak is bothering me.
How the hell did he nailed GPU specs down to the dot? That's not a guess. It would be the luckiest guess I've ever seen.
We have three options.
He either had the exact numbers for XsX but just an idea for PS5 numbers based on a few sources.
He had exact numbers for both, somehow.
He had for XsX but not for PS5 and is just trolling everyone.
I am going with the first option. I think he made PS5 numbers based on a few sources, but final spec won't be what he said. It will be close, tho. But over 13TF? That's hard to believe.
