The reason most Xbox fans dont post in this thread anymore is because the specs and features of the Series X have been out for months. Microsoft left very little up to the imagination. Sony on the other hand was very quiet on that front, leaving much to be speculated on. Silence breeds speculation.

Xbox fans were out of this thread long before all of this "good news" was even revealed about the PS5. They didnt just all of a sudden stop coming by recently. It's been like this for months.

This thread has been a Sony discussion thread for a long time. Very often it degenerates into shitposting about the Xbox Discord, Timdog tweets, resetera drama, and just overall shitting on anything Xbox. I've read almost every page of this thread, trying to sift through the trash to find actual nuggets of PS5 info.

It's just not a good place to talk about Xbox. That's why you see a lot of the Xbox news being posted in other threads. Im not complaining because I still check this thread every day, but you're being really disingenuous as to the reasons why there are very few Xbox fans in this thread anymore.

Would be nice to put this thread to rest and reboot it into something where specs and analysis can actually be discussed, and something that leaves all the schoolyard shitposting and meme warring out.

Imagine how stupid is to say that I am disingeneous for sharing my point of view about a very subjetive matter in the same post where you share yours.

Evening folks, so the mods have been chatting about the future of this and a few other threads in the same vein. Most of the rich details have now been revealed and we are looking to reboot the thread - maybe after the MS 1st party event. We're looking for a few people to overhaul the opening post and make fair cases and summaries for both platforms. Ideally this would be a collaboration between xbox/sony fans or people who are impartial and can do a pretty thorough job in being fair and objective. We realise this is a heavily linked thread so we're not making this decision lightly. It will also ideally serve as an amnesty for the scalps it has claimed, as things went a bit crazy. We thought we'd drop the suggestion here and see what people make of it first though?

I would really appreciate that as long as the OP is beeing updated regulary with facts, postsnippets,videos explaining tech and so on.

If you look at the stand standing up it looks like the stand is slotted and the console rests in the middle so to use that stand on a curved surface without it sliding off that side would need to have notches. My Guess is it either says PS5 or Sony with recessed lettering and the stand will lock into the words

Wasn't that the reason the PS2 had it's specific design as well? I'm thinking it was PS2 or the original Playstation that some people had issues with if they put it on carpet.... But yeah, not a great idea to put your electronics on the carpet, for sure.

Considering i will own both over time lol don't mad at me for Sony having a lackluster launch line up so far. GoT or the last of us 2 of made for a great launch title. Just like last generation GT6 should of been a ps4 game. i had a ps4 at launch but you warriors are the best i am only loyal to me and my wallet. I have gotten systems launch day from Sony to 3do. Been there done that so i can judge on what Sony announced as thier only first party launch title.

Yep. Exclusives and great games coming with more systems getting sold. Why throwing out 10 extremely good and expensive games at the start while "only" 4m consoles are sold and they can't reproduce new ones so fast?

If 80CUs can reach 2.2Ghz with BigNavi then PS5 is playing safe with the same clock in a 40CUs chip.

Are GT games interesting to casual gamers? By casual i mean those who doesn't usually play racing simulators. is there something besides really cool car physics and realistic tracks? Is everyone plain it competitive in multiplayer rather than single player? Is it fun without a wheel? I am thinking of giving GT Sports a try.
I hope Sony releases something more about Destruction Allstars soon, for now it looks more fun too me, I was always more about far-from-realistic racing games.

Destruction AllStars looks like something we'll have a blast in it. It's funny and relaxed, something to laugh about it and enjoy! I had lots of fun with Rocket League, and I believe this one might be PlayStation's most successful title! Funny thing when your car gets destroyed you can even fight on foot, lol, until you get your next vehicle: Some screenshots I made, not clean but gives the idea

I think it's the Rocket League/Fortnite big threat if released for free and monetized instead through microtransactions.

that's bs there's no way 80CU can go at 2055Mhz unless there's freezer on card. just look at xsex 52CU at 1825mhz so in reality 80CU would be around 1600Mhz.

Cerny even said in the GDC talk that they could have pushed the clocks way higher without issue, that they capped it at that number because the logic could not keep up with the clock speed.

I think we will see a lot of paradigm shifts in how the logic is written going forward as I/O and clocks increase.

Well, nothing on the level of what PS5 has shown to date, so it's the most powerful gaming device out there until proven otherwise, which is unlikely. Hence, the Xbox June event runaway. I can't wait for xbox event in July!

Yea I don't want to derail either so I'll end it here, but you may have good experiences with the surface, but part of my job involves physically repairing computer hardware. I've seen more surfaces fail than any other laptop including budget toshiba ones. My own experience has these as being pieces of shit but you may have had great luck and never experienced any hardware failures with them, and that's cool too.
