i had a Plasma TV between 2008-2014 and i abused the shit out of that thing by playing games.
the only burn in i got after 6 years was because i was dumb enough to leave news channels on during the night because i couldn't get to sleep in a quiet room lol. i had no idea WTF burn in was until i saw the news ticker burn in. absolutely no burn in from playing games.
burn in is a real problem for OLEDs but like i said before it'll take 500-700 hours before burn in appears. if you think you're gonna be playing a single game for that amount of time then yeah you need to accept the fact that burn in is likely to happen. i wouldn't be playing games like Destiny, Rocket League, Fortnite which you can sink hundreds or thousands of hours into. if you just play a game, maybe replay it 2-3 times, and move onto another game then you'll be fine.

I have the morning off work on the 10th, but sadly this is so I can do an exam in the morning for my qualification, but part of me is wondering if instead of returning to work straight after if I should just spend an hour or two with this game

Because it's simply an excellent game. Just like GTA V back when it got released. The only way this game could flop is if there are countless bugs on release. The story and gameplay won't disappoint.

i've got this week off work
will be up at midnight to play.i started ignoring new stuff a while back. i only watched 2 episodes of Night City Wire. have tried avoiding any new information. i did buy the World of Cyberpunk book which i haven't finished yet.
i just want to go into as blind as possible and discover stuff on my own. i couldn't help myself watching the 48 minute gameplay but that's OLD footage now so the game has likely changed a lot anyway.

Anybody else already think of their build?
I was thinking of going:
Nomad: Rifle build. Basically a sniper cause of all the open space which probably made nomads prefer a rifle or any long distance gun
Street kid: guns blazing on close quarters. Pistols and shotgun build
Corpo: espionage so more on stealth, hacking and melee so it’s quiet.

Wednesday: go to shops to stock up on food/drink. sleep at 2-3PM and hopefully get a good 8 hours sleep to wake up at 10-11PM. i'll likely be in here until the game unlocks and then i'll be dead to the world until monday.

Going on a rampage of course to see how it stacks up against the GTA’s. Next thing will be a murdering spree, wanna see them limbs flying and brains splatter and yeah you know the usual stuff! I will just be testing out the game’s physics as that’s what matters to me most...

I have to work from 8:00am-5:00pm. Our Amazon deliveries haven’t been coming until late...like 9:00pm. My Patriots are playing Thursday night. And my job denied my request for time off Friday because they hate me for some reason. So I’ll probably be calling out Friday and looking for a new job between missions. I'm sure many of you already know everything in this video, but it's something to watch to pass the time. For those who are still getting a GTA vibe, I suggest you give it a watch. The biggest thing to note is the fact you can't just steal any random car when you start the game which is a staple to games like GTA and Saints Row. That alone makes it very different than what some might be expecting. It's very much going to be an RPG through and through.
I haven't been following every detail they released so there was actually couple of things I learned from this video.

I've been waiting for the game for almost 8 years, can't believe it's coming this week.
I bought RTX 3080 for this, and will get PS5 version later when it's released.
Witcher 3 is my GOAT and I've finished it many, many times so of course I have high expectations.

Work, grab food and snacks, hit the pipe, hopefully not fall asleep before midnight lmao. Have Thursday and Friday off so I'll act as if I'm 19 again and just play the game, eat trash throughout and smoke doobies.

i've actually never got around to buying a copy of the Blade Runner movies. i've seen them of course but just don't have my own so i'm gonna buy them tomorrow.
i can't wait to watch 2049 on my 4K OLED. when i saw it in the cinema it blew my mind. this scene was amazing not just the sights of the city but the sound. oh god the soundtrack of this movie really is something.

I was the same but with PS5 and X. Finally decided to go X today as it has Dolby Atmos support and will be getting a Dolby Vision patch in a month or two.
Give my new CX and new Atmos set up a good run!!

As much as I love Ludwig Goransson it is a disgrace that he beat this soundtrack in the Grammy's with fucking Black Panther.

The gameplay loop in an RPG involves aquiring resources and experience to put into disciplines that allow you to complete challenges. In a game like CoD, that loop doesn't exist because everything is scripted in advance. They and not the player get to decide what skills will be used in a given encounter.
That's basically the opposite of a systems driven approach.

I work overnights, so my shift starts 30 mins before the game drops. I am working from home due to covid, so I will fire it up during my breaks/lunch, then play full on when my shift ends.
