I try not to judge, but do any of you ever stop and think, "Wow, I am emotionally attached to my video game console of choice" or do you not even realize it?
please explain? I did explain my reasoning. Please explain how you get an extra 4 million shipped compared to him.
That entirely depends which 6 countries those are. It could be the difference between 100k - 300k units for all we know. we won't know until MS financials are provided.Oh sorry i missed 2 countries
Still the difference of 6 countries is not going to make a huge difference.
This post isn't worth the time you put into it man.Come on man.

Why is it that only the Sony Super fans are so deeply concerned and desperate to know Xbox numbers?
I doubt most of them are major Microsoft investors and even if they are Xbox is such a small part of that multi-trillion-dollar company as to be irrelevant. I also doubt the majority of them even own a Series X or S. So why do they care so much? Is it because they want to be sure their precious is selling more than Xbox? I think we can all concede PlayStation is selling more than Xbox and slaughtering Xbox in the all-important UK boxed sales numbers as well.
The only conclusion I can draw is that any indications that Xbox is also doing well makes them angry, offended, suspicious and:

You need internet connection for your console to work. The question you and others would have to ask is, "do gamers want to only play games if they have a constant internet connection at all times?" And how would that work in all countries around the world?
Why would they need to separate them? The series S is never going to sell and nobody wants it.It's getting so desperate for them they are now demanding that they separate Series X and S for some strange reason
12 million is a very impressive figure, hopefully we get some hint of Gamepass numbers soon.
Microsoft has no announced cross gen games left. Halo was the last.Hopefully the speed at which these next gen consoles are selling ends cross gen development as soon as possible. I wanna see what these machines are fully capable of.
Really, Microsoft is ending cross gen development before Sony? That wasn't the narrative e3 2020.(glad I can still play horizons on my ps4).Anyways I would love to see most 3rd parties jump fully onto next gen only titlesMicrosoft has no announced cross gen games left. Halo was the last.

I would like that smoke pleaseCan Microsoft reach 1b lifetime? I'm not joking. Microsoft actually said that.

Still is, people are buying them due to scalping. So they don't get screwed either way. Last gen also lasted so long that people have not really been able to play proper 4K for a long time.

... nine years ago, before the Xbone imploded causing virtually everyone except Phil Spencer to be removed. Stop the low effort troll posts, unless you thinking dredging up some of Sony's amazing PS3 quotes is somehow also relevant in 2022.Can Microsoft reach 1b lifetime? I'm not joking. Microsoft actually said that.

The world is on the internet. We play multiplater games online. We have games, that only works online. And these 3rd world countries you keep mentioning, play these games.
Gta online, is the biggest online game, a long side minecraft and roblox. And 3rd world countries play these games.
Microsoft is transitioning first to Next-Gen only games before Sony. Who would've thought?
They can afford to to that so quickly because of XCloud. Xbox One users can play next-gen only games because of it and the games will still run at higher framerates than native ones.
Pretty sure he means ending cross generational first party support outside of xCloud. It's funny because MS never claimed to 'believe in generations' like Sony did yet they are stopping first party cross gen first. This is actually not true at all. Sony had launch games that were next-gen only. MS did not. I think you're confusing supporting last-gen consoles with "transitioning to next-gen only".
I think he's saying Microsoft doesn't have anymore 1st party cross gen games coming out, while every Sony 1st game in 2022 is cross gen. This is actually not true at all. good luck getting patches for your ps5, or any of your games. No I do not! I can take my PS5 to my grandma's home (that has no internet) and connect it to a TV via HDMI and play by games. We don't NEED to be online to play our games. Why do you want to be controlled so much by corporations?
Sorry to hear that.Guys, I got covid. Fk me. I shouldnt have went to Toledo. Now I have to quarantine myself for 5 days.
You know why. Lol.What are you going to do with numbers? Shove it in to other side group?
Honestly, why do you guys care about numbers this much?
its ok. I should have been more careful. Luckily I am vaccinated.Sorry to hear that.
Yep, I don't understand it. Sony will always sell more consoles, so they can sleep easy knowing that that amazing sales game will always be exclusive.
They have nothing to worry about
If MS were so serious about gaming, like Sony, they would have bought studios left and right. They spent $7b on bethesda like its nothing. You know why. Lol.
And what's funny is that these guys still try to literally put Xbox in the same "box" that Sony and Nintendo are in. When they've literally gone as outside the "box" as you can get! Lol
I dont understand what you mean.If MS were so serious about gaming, like Sony, they would have bought studios left and right. They spent $7b on bethesda like its nothing.
Sony and Nintendo have to talk about it. Not for their users, but for their shareholders, since those 2 are big part of their business. While MS on other hand is giant, that xbox division is insignificant to the eyes of the shareholders.Sony and Nintendo talk about theirs. Not surprising on a enthusiast forum people want to know actual hardware sales for Xbox and not PR and estimates.
MS isnt interested in xbox. We seen that, during xbox one era. No 1st party investment at all. Once they decided to invest in, they suddenly have 23 studios. That is a company, that want to keep xbox like little toy.I dont understand what you mean.
Sony and Nintendo have to talk about it. Not for their users, but for their shareholders, since those 2 are big part of their business. While MS on other hand is giant, that xbox division is insignificant to the eyes of the shareholders.
That is the difference between nintendo/Sony and MS.
Sony and Nintendo don’t have to make it public. They can keep it in privacy with the company and shareholders. They talk about it because they have nothing to hide regarding sales.
There’s only one reason why MS doesn’t reveal hardware sales anymore and everybody knows why.
Let’s not play dumb.
They cant hide it. They have to share it, during the quarter earnings. You cant hide that.Sony and Nintendo don’t have to make it public. They can keep it in privacy with the company and shareholders. They talk about it because they have nothing to hide regarding sales.

Going forward, Microsoft will no longer give quarterly sales updates for its Xbox One hardware. Instead, it will give metrics related to its Xbox Live gaming service. According to the report, the company is focusing more on engagement than console sales as a measuring stick. In reporting its earnings yesterday, Microsoft said Xbox Live monthly active users were up 28 percent year-over-year to 39 million. (The company did not indicate how many of those users paid for Xbox Live Gold instead of the free Xbox Live Silver membership.) It also said hardware revenues were down an unspecified amount, and blamed the decrease on falling sales of Xbox 360 consoles.
PlayStation 4 significantly outsold the Xbox One to start this console generation, and the gap between the two has been projected to increase significantly in the coming years.
Microsoft won't reveal Xbox Live active users going forward as it focuses on Xbox Game Pass
We're about to get even less information.
What you need to know
It's a shame that Microsoft isn't going to reveal more information. Hopefully, this is going to change as the next generation of consoles starts in 2020. I personally think Xbox Live Monthly Active Users was a good metric because we knew how many more people were playing games on Microsoft's services every month.
- Microsoft is changing the way it reports its gaming figures.
- Xbox Live Monthly Active Users is no longer a useful metric says the company.
- Instead, Microsoft will disclose overall revenue growth which includes Xbox Game Pass.
- Total gaming revenue will still be filed with the American Securities and Exchange Commission.
Ideally, Microsoft should reveal the number of Xbox Game Pass subscribers. This could be the real test going forward because a consistently-growing count means that the service is succeeding. Now, it'll be even harder to judge how the division is doing on an individual basis.
I suspect there is more truth to this than many think. Not really, most casuals dont care about exclusives at all, they never have and never will, as long as little timmy can play minecraft, roblox and fortnite thats all that matters to most normal families
They cant hide it. They have to share it, during the quarter earnings. You cant hide that.
MS business is azura and windows. Xbox is a side business. They make insane amount of money from their service, azura, and windows. Xbox hardware sales means nothing to them.
Maybe you need to read patch notes for the ps5 or any patch games 1st. especially those day1 patches.Yes, but you don't have to download and install patches to play games. Plus being able to connect to the internet at "MY" leisure is different than having a company force me to stay online.
Steve palmer was the ceo for MS in 2014, and Satya become the ceo after that. You sure? Because MS used to ALWAYS talk about sales up until 2015.
Again, the company is going for subscription model. Xbox is tiny business, and their hardware sales means nothing to their shareholders.I don’t care what Xbox means to them. They use to show Xbox sales and now they don’t. There’s a reason for that.
Sony and Nintendo don’t hide hardware sales meaning they put together under hardware and services or something. Sony did exactly that during the PS3 generation. Shareholders still know exact sales but the public doesn’t.
Dude, let it go! It's been seven years and you're still whining that Microsoft doesn't share numbers! You whining on a message board is not going to change that fact. Let.it.go.You sure? Because MS used to ALWAYS talk about sales up until 2015.
It's been seven years. You need to move on too.I don’t care what Xbox means to them. They use to show Xbox sales and now they don’t. There’s a reason for that.

Ok I'll bite. Why?There’s only one reason why MS doesn’t reveal hardware sales anymore and everybody knows why.
Let’s not play dumb.

They are going full mode for xcloud and subscription service. That is someone that doesnt give a crap about hardware numbers. You dont go to that business model, if you care about hardware numbers.
Ok I'll bite. Why?
Let me ask you this question? How convenient, a perfect excuse as to why hardware sales aren’t shown anymore.
They can have a different approach to business all they want. That still doesn’t explain the lack of real data. Which anybody with common sense can see why they don’t talk about it anymore.
