I think you're grasping. Account linking is now common for cross platform games. CoD already needs an Activision account on PS for some features. What degradation is there if Microsoft migrates Activision accounts to Microsoft accounts leaving everything else the same?
Are you saying that you'd rather have to login with two logins (one account) to post on gaf - compared to everyone else just using one?

Having a unified login for PC Windows Store/Xbox and needing two for Steam, Nintendo and PlayStation would not be maintaining feature parity as it skews to a better experience in QoL terms for Microsoft. It may seem minor, but when the deal passes don't be surprised if all these tiny issues get served up fast to regulators by Sony to demonstrate that it will be an ongoing process to monitor Microsoft's ownership.

If the announcement gets delayed to this evening (5pm GMT) it has a small chance of getting blocked - but would make sense for them all going home when the US markets open. I assume it was posted on the 5th but in the event of it being blocked by a cloud SLC I assume it was ofcom that tipped the scale.

Ofcom is being silly. Azure has less then a quarter of the Cloud marketshare (even in the UK its not much higher). They are hardly dominating anyone.

It's like any other game. You have one account. It's your main account on PC that can be linked with steam. Console players need to link their NSW/PSN/XBL accounts to the game account. In Minecraft's case, psn users link their PSN account to a Microsoft account for crossplay.

There's going to be zero issues because it's how all games work. PS players only need to link of they want progress off platform. Accounts aren't a feature.

They’re shitting it in purple town :messenger_tears_of_joy: wouldn’t read too much in to loopy lulu - she’s deleted those tweets because she’s had a slapped hand for acting like a teenager.

Yep, it made it clear that what she stands to gain financially is significant for her in one way or another.

(as if that wasn't obvious before based on her behaviour)

Yea I wouldnt read too much into that. I mean even if it is blocked, it will go to appeal just drawing this out for longer.

Honestly man, I really highly doubt that a trillion dollar company's buyout will get blocked. Microsoft is sitting at a trillion for a reason. Do people really think that a company that got to trillion dollars don't have super elite lawyers or financial advisors that haven't warned them or advised them of what might happen and how they need to react and move on if Scenario A, B, or C happens ahead of time? Come on lol.

Edit - Well this did not age well. Haha

They can only appeal based on technical errors and it just goes back to the CMA to re-evaluate. If the CMA block this after making an addendum to revise their workings out then Microsoft are smoked.

To be fair, those same super elite lawyers presented a subpoena that they had to be shown where they messed up.
