No fucker outside a few hipster wankers will use this for home computing, or watching movies, or any of the other brainless shit they tried to sell, instead of VR.
Right along this product.Oof 3500
This is clearly not a gamer's device, the audience is different than here at gaf. So I think the people who can afford it will. It's just that very few can..No fucker outside a few hipster wankers will use this for home computing, or watching movies, or any of the other brainless shit they tried to sell, instead of VR.
For the tech it houses 3500 USD is a fair price. It's also not the most expensive product shown on the conference. We will see how it does.
Yeah id you look at what MS had. This Vision Pro is so much more powerful and advanced it’s really not that expensive compared to other high end AR/VR products.
Maybe you can pause and swap batteries. There's a 100 Wh limit on the size of battery you can take on a plane, so I don't know how airlines would feel about you bringing on a bagful of them for a long flight.Very cool tech, but I am laughing at the ad where they show someone jumping on the sofa or on a plane watching a movie but it has a two hour battery life.
only the gif is realIs this real? Lol.
Juzt like phones they need apps for itBut….what is it for? Netflix?
Massively wrong there, plenty of other companies have been doing that for years.Just making a fucking light, cheap headset that plays triple AAA games and experiences at high fidelity, you morons. Nobody wants your big screen floating in space, or recording your kids in 3d horseshit.
And it’s a closed ecosystem. I used to complain that VR is like playing mobile games because devs don’t invest properly in VR. Well, this IS mobile games. Literally. It’s the iOS and Apple Arcade library. Playable on a $3499 device. Probably $4k+ at my location. And that’s starting at…Apple are going to go right alongside Meta with losing billions on AR/VR.

A lot of people can afford it, especially people in this forum. Have you seen the TV threads? It's just that its a stupid price for what you get. This is clearly not a gamer's device, the audience is different than here at gaf. So I think the people who can afford it will. Is ten a hard number to beat? This thing is gonna destroy the PS2VR in sales.
I'm just going to quote myself from March. Before everyone that waddles into this thread has the same fucking out of touch meltdown that they always do here are some prices of similar devices aimed at businesses and professionals.

Apple has been working on and developing AR/VR for at least 6 years. A trillion dollar company that has made that on consumer products knows that their new product line won’t be a hit with the masses if it’s totally unaffordable. I expect a base consumer version to be 699-999 depending on how aggressive they want to get to build a user base.
I think a lot of people are missing the fact that this is not just an headset, it is a working PC.
Yeah I know, I'm one of them. But since I'm only looking for an even more niche headset (new gen tethered pancake headset for PC simulators), I don't see much use in it for me. It's also Apples foot in the door for the future, a V1 device in a walled garden.. So.. yeah.. IDK..A lot of people can afford it, especially people in this forum. Have you seen the TV threads? It's just that its a stupid price for what you get.
I have a working PC that doesn't require me to have bloody great big headset strapped to my face the entire time.
This is not how VR is going to succeed.
