Literally seconds after I posted the thread.

Single player, multiplayer, 3rd party, indie, GAAS. Not bad at all. Lot of variety.

There are some I'm locked in for already like Dragon's Dogma 2 and Prince of Persia.

I'm definitely curious to see what Concorde ends up being. If it's a graphically impressive space multiplayer game it could surprise people.

Both Persona 3 and Metaphor missing from the montage. Atlus must have exclusive marketing with Xbox.

WOW! The remakes and 3rd party titles, i'm SO EXCITED!
FFVII Rebirth, TLOU2 Remastered, Helldivers 2, Rise of the Ronin, Foamstars, and Silent Hill 2 are either exclusives to PS platforms or at least console exclusives to them. And all of this i mentioned (except Silent Hill 2) are coming ou until the end of March.

So yeah...good line up.

This is going to be another great year for PS5. Many cool games announced and we barely started the year, so more will be announced later.

The music of the trailer was pretty bad btw.

Minimise exposure to the players most likely to full-price buy your games. Genius strategy again from SEGA.

Nice edited trailer but there is nothing there really exciting imho.

I agree with comment above that this looks like a garbage tier year.

My most expected game on PS5 is currently death stranding 2 but unfortunately it does not appear in the video...

not that i'm not interested in others (silent hill 2, dragon's dogma 2), but it still just looks like the year of stellar blade to me...

Nice early lineup doubt I'll get to even a third of those games but I'll play them eventually last of us 2 remastered and sh2 are my only day ones

Does anybody else think all these games are going to come out in the 1st half of 2024? Most of those games are already given a release date of January - March of 2024.

Or maybe a smart move? Cos they know hardly anyone on Xbox will pay full price for their games. So on one hand accept a hefty check from Microsoft and on the other sell the games for full price on Playstation.

Fucking garbage tier year.

Announce some AAA 1st party games, christ.

Naughty Dog is in a bit of a state. Insomniac all super hero junk. The rest seem a ways away from releasing anything since they're all prioritizing visuals so much.

So you might as well join the 3rd party master race.

Tekken 8 and 7R are slam dunks. DD2 is highly likely to be awesome. Stellar and Ronin are dork horse entries. So yeah, looking good here.

...it's the 4th of January.

It's weird how we've come to expect megatons delivered 365 days a year, but this is just a little commercial for products already on the calendar. There'll be a State of Play or something sometime.

And you say "announce some AAA 1st party games", but publishers can't announce what they don't have. People were angry that Sony didn't do a Future of PlayStation Showcase for over a year after PS5 launch, but then if you look at the actual games announced and released over that time (outside of the games they already announced at the PS5 reveal like GT7 and GoW:R and Horizon 2,) they really didn't have those games. Publishers have culled drastically in how many titles they produce, and games take way longer to make than in the past. Yes, Bend and Asobi and Sucker Punch and others have projects they are working on, but none of them are ready to show, and they weren't ready in 2021 or 2022 when everybody was asking why they weren't announcing all these AAA 1st party games; seeing in 2024 that none of those games are out still makes it clear why they didn't show.

(Similarly, Xbox announced a dozen or so games in 2020, and it seemed like that promised to be just the start of an avalanche, yet three years later, not only have there been hardly any new games announced afterwards, those 2020 announced games are not out still and in many cases haven't even shown again in playable form.)

It’s always a mistake assuming past fans will automatically buy your new games without putting the games in front of faces. Especially in a period with stronger IP like FFVII.

I have to look up the name of Metaphor every time, I can’t remember actually watching a trailer for it.

Microsoft continuing to hand out checks for a niche on GP is less reliable than selling to a majority of fans.

Looking good. Tekken 8, FFVII R, Dragons Dogma 2, Rise of the Ronin will probably eat up a lot of my gametime this year.

A lot of games I'm cautious about for sure, but I'm certainly hoping for the best across the board. I'd love for this year to be even better than the last.

They haven’t announced a new AAA 1st Party game since Wolverine in 2021. 3 years now. Not one of their studios has anything to show? It’s garbage management over there. We have no idea what’s coming after Spiderman 2 other than Wolverine… from the same studio.

If they weren’t so focused on stupid GAAS trash and multiplayer trash, they’d have something to announce

Games take between 4-6 years to develop. All of their premiere studios released games at the end of last gen and beginning of this gen. Good chance this year we'll get announcements for Ghost2(after Ronin releases) and whatever new IP Naughty Dog is working since 2020. Games take time. Sony has done a decent job filling in the gaps with 2nd and 3rd party games
