As long as they stop sales of Xbox by spreading this message, it could very well cause the desired outcome they are looking for.

I think the issue is that they built the brand around their most extreme fanbase. Its why they are running into all sorts of issues. If they catered to more main stream gamers things would probably look very different for them.
