Castlevania showrunner, with X-Men 97's studio, and Capcom oversight. I guess we'll see...
doing quick research, not at all. they were just doing animation services (for an american production), which is like, the most common thing in the korean industry

Apparently the original Devil May Cry anime didn’t do a very good job getting Dante’s personality right. So hopefully this new one fixes that.

Studio Mir is usually solid so if nothing else at least visually it should be nice

Not even for this?

Man I hope this does well so they keep the budget high.

Just like Chainsawman, the manga is good from the beginning but it isn't until a few arcs into the story when it gets REALLY good

Plays with kids toys, in the adult gaming world
I've been saying this since the first game came out but Dante is such a try-hard made by committee
early 2000s "mr.coolman" Vash from trigun meets Sephiroth poochy type character I couldn't get into the early games at all
Vergil somehow works though he's badass wish he was the protag or hell even Nero
I'll give this anime a shot and try to ignore how much I just don't like Dante

My point is that Studio Mir was responsible for the animation of X-Men 97. Not exactly sure what point you're trying to make.
that there is literally nothing to worry about their involvement here, it's not like they had any creative say on X-Men, AT ALL

Just because they didn't write the show doesn't mean that their involvement is unimportant. I'd put "animation quality" pretty high on the list of things that matter when making an animated work.

Also, to be clear, I don't dislike Studio Mir's work, generally speaking. I suspect that the new DMC will be competently animated, at least, even if it may be lacking in other areas.

Yeah, that show was dark, aloof and brooding. Every episode was also exactly the same template so it got stale quick. I liked it purely for the vibe, but it wasn't compelling. Great opening credits song!

I know, I don't think their involvement is unimportant, they're the actual animators, of course. But again, it was just animation services, which is a common thing in the Korean industry with American-produced animation (which is not even animated in America!), they're not part of the actual production crew of the series. They just animate what they're told to, they have no creative input on the project.
On the other hand, they're actually involved in DMC first and foremost, though with Western ""writers"" at the helm.
