This means future plot to me. Either post-apocalyptic or far future/cyber vampires:

I prefer the first for TV, but both would make for fun video game concepts.

I remember seeing Charisma in the Asylum version of Fifty Shades, called Bound. Couldn't tell you what the plot was though.

I assume the canonical Season 8 and 9 comics won't be canon anymore.

Do you think Willow’s spell only worked on the potential slayers who were alive at the time?

If they’re all ageing and no new slayers are being activated at birth it could make for an interesting concept.

Buffy was one of those shows I wasn't watching for the storyline. Like I didn't watch Denise Austin so I can perform aerobic and toning exercises.

She had a full nude scene in the movie bound if you are curious, but it was like 10 years ago :lollipop_squinting:
Playboy as well.

She always had a kind of artificial quality to her. Basically a manufactured looking Shannon Elizabeth (though I think Charisma came first so maybe Shannon is just a lusher version of Charisma :p

They should just go and cast a Sydney Sweeney "Tit-Monster" type and put her in a cheerleader outfit and make it a fun lighthearted show, it's hardly rocket science:messenger_grinning_sweat:
Thats what the OG film really was. Sweeney would be PERFECT for that role, basically lampooning 'girl boss' characters of the past 20 years.

Get Nic Cage to play the Rutger Hauer bad vampire, Jack Black as the servile Paul Reubens role, and since they seem to be in everything, make roles for Awkwafina and Common as well :p

Whedon might be a scumbag, but he's the only one who could make that style of quippy dialogue work and not seem completely cringe.

I'll keep my expectations in check for this reboot.

Buffy is pretty much my favorite show, but i don't want this. What was once fresh has been imitated poorly and driven into the ground in the decades since.

Even the OG Buffy peaked in season 3 and dropped off hard in the last 2 seasons. Plus, you need Whedon. Even back then you could see the quality of Buffy drop when he was focused on Angel and the drop in both when he was focused on Firefly.

This will fail horribly.

There's just something about 90's/early 00's TV shows that you cannot replicate any more. You cannot view them without the context of the period: the angsty, edgy, campy, nihilistic but also hopeful time of that era was the perfect recipe for a lot of these shows. Even the way it looks is something completely unique. Not that TV doesn't look good these days but in the case of Buffy or Angel for example you had the perfect blend of 'cheap' while still having a cinematic touch. It's hard to put a finger (or difficult for me to put into words I guess) but all of this is to say that I don't see why you'd need a new Buffy in 2025 or beyond. Regardless the best intentions of people involved.
