Worse teams have surely made it that far, yea, take South Korea or Turkey in 2002. But I don't think a worse team than 2006 Germany has ever managed to win the whole thing. Of course it's difficult to make meaningful comparisons between different ages, but all World Cup winners teams, regardless of their actual performances during the Cup itself, were world class teams filled with top level players, while that German team had one such player (Ballack) and a couple of promising youngsters (Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Podolski), alongside a squad consisting of simply mediocre players, they were nowhere near World Cup winning level. And they didn't win it, being deservedly defeated by a better team, so all it's good.OK, you lost me here. First you're talking about overperforming and now this? Please, I'm sure there have been worse teams to get that far. And giving that German team that performed very, very well throughout that entire tournament, home advantage or not, a dubious honor such as that is a little too much.
Supporting Germany but will not be sad if Argentina takes it. Messi deserves a WC.
Wow don't need to be that humble.
Brazil just didn't really play as a team this tournament. Individually, there's still a lot of class.

What are you smoking? Di Maria's goal was wholly created by Messi's movement. Messi was the only player creating Argentinian threads coming from deep in the right, moving up field and then tossing it over the top to Lavezzi, Perez or Higuain who had a ton of space because De Jong was facing up Messi the entire match.Nobody deserves a WC. You have to go out there and take it. Messi hasn't done that and has been carried by the team these past few rounds.
Just read in the Dutch news that Coca Cola held a Fifa sponsor pool party last night in the German player hotel with diner and live music that kept going, there was even fighting among the guests .
German team was not amused .
Has Brazil recovered from the meltdown he had yesterday?

My jersey with three stars on it will become outdated in a few hours.
Spain's reign ended. Germany's is about to begin.
I think Argentina will park the bus and will play anti-football, hope I'm wrong.
edit: Countdown for those who need it.

Granted I know little about the details of football, but I thought Netherlands was on the decline? Aren't most of their players getting up there in age?
Germany has such a good pipeline of young players. Plus we"ll have Reus back!
