A search on the US game ratings board’s website shows that one of its latest rating decisions is an M for Resident Evil 6 on ‘Xbox Series’.

Resident Evil 6 was originally released on Xbox 360 and PS3 in October 2012, blending “action and survival horror” to deliver what Capcom called “an epic and dramatic horror experience”.

The game was then ported to Xbox One and PS4 in March 2016, alongside ports of Resident Evil 4 and 5, with graphical enhancements and all previous add-on DLC included.

Capcom then brought Resident Evil 5 and 6 to the Switch in 2019, again offering all previously released DLC.

The rating of a new version suggests Capcom may be about to re-release a new current gen version of Resident Evil 6, perhaps with further graphical enhancements to take advantage of the current hardware’s extra power.

The fact the game has already been rated also makes it all but certain it will be a remaster, rather than the full remake Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 received in recent years.

Pretty pointless, I've played RE6 on PS4 and visually it looked good. A remake would be a good way to make tons of changes to the story & gameplay, making the game less like a Michael Bay flick.

I don't think there's much they could improve over the Xbox One/PS4 version.

it's an old engine, and they probably didn't add modern graphics features like RT to it just for this remaster

The game needs a total remake similar to RE2 and RE3. RE6 is the worst main series game by a mile and Capcom has the chance to retcon elements of the game and redo the story to improve it and better line up with RE7 and RE8. There is no need to rush out a remaster of the same crappy game with slightly better graphics.

I also feel the same about RE5. Most of that game was good but the last third of the game is horrible, especially everything involving the villains. Just retcon it and redo it while you have the chance.

Best RE to replay outside of 4. Just because the concert, movement and location diversity is so good. Not best overall, just best for replays. Not counting remakes.

Its awful, and way too bloated. Game takes over 20 hours to beat. Hit animations and overall feel is just very bad. Bosses sort of die automatically since all AI partners fight it together.

I rather replay RE5 which honestly isn't bad. Especially the DLC and Mercs is good.
