Acosta needs to start, full stop. The only issue is where do you put him? Next to Bradley? Then you're relegating Dax to the bench as a depth option. That said, I think Bradley and Dax need to fight it out for that #6 spot. It'll be good for both of them.
Dom is going to be a good depth option, either to come on as a sub at the end or start when Jozy or Wood is injured or whatever.
Corona has improved immensely from the last time we saw him, holy crap. There's going to be a serious fight for spots in the midfield.
I think Morris would make another good super-sub. He's got speed and he's not bad on the wing. He's not good enough to start yet, but who knows how much he'll improve going forward. Right now he at least warrants a bench spot so he can be thrown into games and run at tired defenses.
Zusi remains a solid options off the bench at that spot. He's been getting a lot better at playing that defensive role lately.
All that said, out of everyone who played I think only Acosta swiped a spot on A-team. I'm interested to see if Miazga gets any playing time, pretty sure he got called up, and if he can impress. He's already shown a lot of skill and ability.
TFC has not looked good so far. Need to pull themselves together in the second half or they will concede.
Heh, Galaxy getting rolled by RSL.
The ref was awful all night. He blew a lot of calls both ways. We'll see if SJ appeals the Bernardez red card at the end.
The only MLS team Wondo has faced and not scored on is Minnesota at this point and the Quakes have one more game against them this season. Wondo is now 16 goals behind Donovan on the all-time leading scorers list, too.
Did you only watch the last 10 minutes?
We need this. Badly. Drinking a beer then heading in. At least Schweinsteiger isn't in the 18.Big win, now let's go Portland. Kick Chicago's ass.
#HeapsOut
only seeing this now. Thanks for reply.
I agree with pretty much everyone everything.
Yeah, Corona 2015 Gold cup (iirc) did nothing but tick me off since he apparently thought he was Messi. Now he showed some actual ball control which is exciting.
You already saw what I saw about Acosta. I do agree it's going to be interesting to fit all these guys in though.
I'm still down on Morris due to not seeing enough progression but yeah he should make the bench for us.
Hopefully Miazga has gotten better. Where did he get loaned to again? Vitesse or something?
Regardless, our second CB spot next to Cameron is open imo. So anyone can show up and impress.
What a goal from Reyna. Good win, and I'm glad to not have NYC nipping at our heels.
Chicago though...
Chicago though...
Cannot wait to see our new CB. Also we should sell Adi to a better league in the offseason. He can't get calls. He's either too physical or the fouls on him aren't "hard enough" because he is so big. It's terrible.Hard fought draw in Portland
I want that Gold Cup jersey so bad. It's so irritating that they are a limited edition thing, and it's even more irritating that they're so expensive.
I know! I hope they do a replica. It is my favorite USMNT jersey since the sash
I found a large at a local store. I just can't decide on if I should pull the trigger or maybe buy an asian knockoff. I really should save my money, as I'm going to Japan in two months.Where can you even buy that jersey?
EDIT: Oh, it's sold out already.
Cross post from the Gold Cup thread:
Peak CONCACAF: Florent Malouda is ineligible for Gold Cup; French Guiana coach insists he will play against Canada regardless
If he does play, like the French Guiana coach says he will, then it *should* be an automatic 3-0 victory for Canada. Which means that this could actually happen. Utterly bizarre.
