I'm not sure who they are trying to sell this device to.
People like me; Enthusiast that doesn't mind to "waste" money to get early access to technology passed down to casual enthusiast for half the price a year or two later. No big deal.

With that said, I'm not saying I'm going to buy it, need to dig more into the matter first. First and foremost I'm just interested in a new gen good solid tethered pancake headset to drive my flight sims and racing sims.

Anyway, I have to say it's a weird timing for Apple to come out with this right now. But I guess they want to start build experience to not miss the consumer wave in a few years.

Hahaha.

Apple unfortunately can't put a gun to people's heads like national governments could. I'm sure they would salivate over the prospect of being able to if they could.
Most of the consumer demographics that are into their products, seem to voluntarily wear them till this day.

They've only mentioned AR, spatial computing, eye, hand & voice controls, when others are close your eyes are displayed to and they to you. Some neat things like 3D camera included (And indicated when you're recording to others nearby) but I guess that means you gotta be wearing this thing when "living" your experiences you want to "relive" in 3D later on the device. Zero things gamers care about. I suppose you could potentially game on the giant 3D movie screen but meh. Edit: 100 + Apple Arcade titles available to play in this mode (with standard game controller support). Meh.

:goog_unsure: really? where do you live where you still see people with masks?
We see them on those who move from certain other cities/states. They tend to stand out like a sore thumb down here in the south, lol. A buddy was on a business trip to Portland as well, and it was every other person still, as of a month ago.

Pretty impressive tech. Surely the eyesight tech will allow you to customise your eyes to emojis etc?
2 hours battery life is shite though lol

This makes me miss Steve. I wonder if we would have gotten foldable thin apple phones with him instead they want to sell a wall-e future to us

They are including advanced audio in the headset removing the need for accessories, that's got to add $500 to the price alone if not more.

This device is really making every other attempt at a headset look like a damn toy.

This thing's going to be like $5k+ at this rate.

This is impressive stuff waster on AR.

Lol this will be 5000$ if headphones alone were 500.

Seriously... this makes psvr2 look like a piece of garbage (which it was for me since I hated the comfort and lenses and returned it)
