Avowed Key Art: Does it Mean Anything or Just for Looks?

The most common piece of media I see for Avowed is this key art, which also looks to be the box art:

Does this actually directly tie in to the game or did they go with it because they think it looks cool?

It's probably to do with your character and, supposedly the "choice & consequence" part of the game, at least, in my opinion. The skeleton represents the player character and what's inside it represents the difference consequences that come from its actions. Your character, your playthrough, your choices, your rules. It's kinda looks weird and funky at the same time!!!

Godlikes in Pillars of Eternity are born with a blessing (or curse) by a divine intervention by the gods

PoE had 9 sub-types, but who knows now if they didn't expand it as I think the plot of the game will have some false gods or something.

Not even all of the PoE Eoran Pantheons have their godlike in the lore yet, on top of Avowed potentially adding to that.

So it seems Avowed's art is a melting pot of all godlikes

It's cool as fuck. No clue about the game but their history is solid at worst. It also reminded me a bit of this game.

This game is quite amazing. I've played it during the holidays and had a great time. It's very bizarre but once you get accustomed to the color schemes it's actually kind of comfy.

Mad Elder Scrolls vibes. The game gets shit because the combat is basic as hell but honestly the game is all about the exploration.

Unironically one of the better games I've played in 2024.

There are certain aspects that I like — the skeleton and usage of color are interesting.

The pose sucks. Especially because it makes the left forearm look like it is jutting out of the stomach instead of being connect to an upper arm connected to a shoulder.

Well, he got out from under the non-binary badly tattoed grubby tentacles of MS/Bethesda and has been with Raphael Colantonio in Wolves, now he's making an inmmersive sim with them, so in my book the universe balanced there WONDERFULLY. 🙏🏻

I think it looks cool and better than "generic dude with explosion/shotgun" etc.

I stay with my principle and values. Im not interested with this game what ever sales and awards it receive. There is already a push for gender ideology since they already said it will have pronouns and they even bash Elon about his stance against twisted gender ideology.

I know a lot of people are half joking about it, but in all seriousness, given the art director's commentary/controversy, there's basically 0% chance it's not intentionally gay/bisexual coded.

There are some inmmersive sim royalty at WolfEye apart from Raphaël Colantonio, but having Chris Avellone as a Master of Shadows (you'll see when I point him out) creative designer/director is massive. I mean, First Person Shooter Inmmersive Sim RPG is what they're making per Colantonio.
