Usual rule of thumb: Never trust developer-mode footage. Especially not in a dev diary.
Wait until you see someone playing a hands-on demo somewhere.

No talking protagonist or featured in cutscenes again it looks like, the one thing I disliked about the Outer Worlds

Game looked good. Voice acting seemed a bit weird, but environs and fighting seemed good.
Need to know about world, inventory, stats, etc...
Also need to see if this game isn't woke.... Didn't Chris Avellone get kicked out for a meeeeeetooooo reeee thing that turned out to be false and just woman who were lying to "impress people on twitter"... Those b's ruined a man's career and a studios writting talent is lost.
Outer worlds was shit writing wasnt good and shit woke characters. All the women looked like they were middle aged broads with mullets or men with spikey hair.
Long gone are the days of kotor 2, nwn2, Alpha protocol, and pillars of eternity. I read most of the OG staff is gone.

It actually sounds really great, at least combat when describing it, and then you see it in action where things feel a bit off. Hopefully this is just a bad showing of a good game otherwise you can add it to the pile of disappointments.

Kidding, obviously, but an unvoiced protagonist in these types of RPG's is a must. I am creating my character that I will voice in my imagination, I don't want to hear a single male/female actor's interpretation of what I want to say. Fallout 4 taught the entire industry this.

game looks fine, not sure why everyone is so angry about with the game. It certainly looks budget but if like Hellblade 2 it is a budget title then whatever.. it'll find it's audience.
It does feel like obsidian are kind resting on their laurels a bit lately, the two interesting games from them have been 2 tiny experimental projects from small sects of the studio, that isn't a good sign to me... Remember these guys did the stick of truth, Don't know why they going for budget bethesda games. (i didn't play much of pentiment but i know people do love that game, grounded was fun for what it was, a small survival game)

After I played The Outer Worlds I had a feeling this would be disappointing. Yeah. Wish Obsidian was making Bethesda spinoffs again, the persistent physics and AI routines really bring those worlds to life. Avowed looks like its world will feel about as static as The Outer Worlds'.

Couldn't find combat montage vid from immortals of aveum which is also an fps.
Forspoken combat is really good as far as magic games go.

Each to their own preferences dude. I like a talking protagonist personally and if I’m to create and customise a character I’d like to see them in cutscenes.

World looks awesome, and combat looks pretty decent. I was totally vibing with the trailer before they got to that dialogue scene. Good Lord, that needs a hell of a lot more work. Also the voice didn't seem to fit the character? Obsidian generally knows how to tell a story, so I am hopeful, but that dialogue scene and the character animations knocked it down a few pegs for me.

Its basically Outer Worlds in a fantasy universe, complete with similar semi open world, and RPG mechanics.
Its really nothing like Forspoken, and thank fuck for that.

One of the most boring looking and uninspired games I've seen in a long time. To think I was hella hyped after the very first teaser.
Actually looks genuinely awful. Feelin' sorry for the devs kinda. Shit's giving me Redfall vibes in the sense that I feel like they're forced to beat a dead horse up until it's release at this point.

Have you even seen their previous medieval games? They are grounded like Baldur's Gate. This is just that in first person. It's like countering the next Elder Scrolls with Stellar Blade. They aren't going for the same thing. You're feigning ignorance to troll an Xbox game.

This was pretty captivating, but at the same time something about the combat looked off to me. Maybe it was just missing some "umph" or something? It's hard to tell. But between that and the NPC conversations, it felt like it was showing that it definitely needed time in the oven. Hopefully things look better at launch, I'd imagine they would.
