They should retitle this movie to:
YOUR OPINION V SOMEONE ELSE'S OPINION.
Movies are subjective, just because you like it doesn't make it good. Neither does it mean it is bad if everyone else doesn't like it.
The only thing close to a metric of quality for movies is how they hold up over time. And I doubt people shouting at the moment care enough to wait a decade to see how a film holds up lol

Going out on a limb here and going to say based on how MoS held up, this will not.

There's always those handful of people who come into a thread about review scores and want to bring up this irrelevant nonsense. We all understand that entertainment is subjective; you aren't making some grand point that no one considered before you decided to post.

wow. I thought for sure it would climb close to 50% after the initial wave.

Don't know how this will play out...

This night we'll see the first showings worldwide, so more mainstream media outlets will have their reviews up by tomorrow morning or tomorrow afternoon.

By tomorrow night, we'll have most of the reviews up. Are these new reviews going to be more positive than traditional critics? Less? usually, critics that see the movie at normal screenings aren't as favorable towards the movie.

So.... Gezus, it's going to come down even more.

I didn't realize until now that Zack Snyder was the director of Watchmen and Man of Steel (and this movie, of course).

That's quite a contrast, at least to me, because I adored Watchmen and hated Man of Steel.

Welp, think I'll hold off on this until it hits Redbox, and retreat to the TV shows for now.

I can see Aquaman failing harder than Green Lantern due to James Wan/Jason Mamoa. And hell, I like Jason Mamoa and even enjoyed the new Conan even though no one else did (I'm a big Robert E. Howard fan and have read all the Conan stories.)

Then there's Flash going for the dark and gritty thing (and casting someone that I don't see doing the role justice IMO). Something just looks off with him at the premiere, I don't know. Maybe it's because Grant Gustin does such a great job, I just don't see it happening.

Justice League Dark headed by Guillermo, who will almost certainly go off to direct something else instead, and possibly a Colin Farrel Constantine...

Suicide Squad...eh I was looking forward to Leto's portrayal, that's about it to be honest.

I've never been a fan of Ben Affleck, so I guess this will be his swan song for superhero movies after this (if the movie tanks as bad as it sounds it might).

Wonder Woman sounds like it may be the Captain America equivalent of the DCU, so I guess there's at least that.

Then the Lobo movie they're going for....hrm, I take back wanting Karl Urban in that, hope he stays away for his own sake.

I guess I was foolish for being optimistic with this, having gotten into comics/DC in the past so many years more heavily and with the TV shows doing so well.

I guess the only hope at this point is to move the Flash movie way up and retcon the whole thing where he goes into an alternate Earth, permanently.

Seems like maybe a Flashpoint Paradox movie would have been a better fit for this movie in particular (BvS). Would make sense if it was Thomas Wayne. I'm also not a fan of Batman or Superman, was just going to see it to support DC/WB's idea with the hope of other movies later with heroes I enjoy. But at this point, I'm not sure I want the ones I like to show up in the DCU movies at all.

DC/WB just seem to be going about this all wrong, just like that MOBA they made that's already shut down (and Marvel Heroes still going).

Money talks and bullshit walks, so I'll vote with my wallet. That's the only way they'll get the message.

I'm not really sure what your point is. Why are you in a review thread if you have no interest in the reviews?

My friend just saw it. She said it was one of the best comic book movies she has ever seen! She cant quite tell why she likes it so much tho..

Thor 2 is her favorite Marvel movie

That's the point of RT. 37% of critics enjoyed the films.
If you like it, you're the 37%. If not, you're the 63%

Really disappointing to see all the negative reviews. I'll probably end up waiting for Bluray. It is true that reviews are subjective and that I may like it while others don't but there is a such thing as consensus and it seems the consensus is that it is kinda bad.

Will this movie be this generations waterworld?

Obiviously the movie is not as bad as the score indicates (but only because the first half exists, the second one was pure shit), but its really a boring movie.
Batman was the best thing.

This is the OT now, I guess?

Rotten Tomatoes scores don't indicate how good a movie is anyway. It's not what the score means.

LoL That spoiler sucker punch!! Haha

Really wish i could just pluck out Batman's first fight scene and see it for free. I'm hoping Batfleck shines and they hand him the director chair for the next bats movie and he just goes ham sammich on the shit. Like.... clayface or Ivy or some such good n crazy shit.

Y'know, you really have to hand it to WB. After MOS' critical and commercial underperformance, they didn't just respond by doubling down on Snyder as director of the sequel. They didn't just appoint him the creative mastermind of an entire shared DCCU spinning out of that sequel. No, they did all that *and* they set such an aggressive production schedule for said shared universe that by the time its first proper entry came out, they had no less than three films in post-production or late pre-production that were (probably) too far along to significantly alter.

It's too soon to pronounce this plan a failure; it's entirely possible that BvS will prove critic-proof enough to break $1B worldwide, or whatever other number is necessary for everyone involved to keep their jobs. But either way, it's not exactly smart management to take such a massive gamble.

Visited Rotten Tomatoes. Real shock is that Cloverfield lane was at 90%. Thought it was just decent, well acted/directed but kind of boring/predictable. Looking forward to BvS this weekend, even if it's not great I imagine I'll get some reaction/enjoyment from it.

That's the part that hurts the most, that Snyder has so much power in the dccu. How many chances well he get? He's like the perfect example of failing upwards. This is like some comedy where you find out his daddy is the helm of the studio and gives his son a cushy job for no reason.

10 Cloverfield Lane average score: 7.4

Crashing this plane... with no survivors!
So far the RT consensus is only 9% higher than a movie where Green Lantern fights Ken Griffey on nerve tonic and anthropomorphic diarrhea.
