New PM Justin went into a subway station this morning to shake hands and take selfies.

#manofthepeople

Haha wow, I take that metro to work everyday

Lmao the complaints in this thread are random.

"...he went to comicon"
"...he's taking selfies"
"...he had a life"

So the fuck what? How does that make him less qualified? He's smart and passionate and the Liberals platform is extremely progressive. Liberals also have the best cabinet ministers so he'll be surrounded by really good people.

It's a helluva better than this, that's for sure. :D

To be fair I'm pretty sure those comments are jokes/not serious posts.

But then again this is NeoGAF...

It's cheesy as fuck, and probably a bit naive, but I'm proud of my country again, and I didn't know how much I missed that under Harper.

Was emotional last night because of this. I'm so proud to be Canadian but I hadn't been over the past few years, let's hope Justin can make the change.

I have had two friends who visited Japan. One liked it, while another cited it as, and I quote, "the most xenophobic country in the developed world". Depends on the area I guess?

Ehhh not really, and if that gaffer doesn't like Justin that much. Japan is definitely going to jump on Trudeaumania 2.0, he is Justin-kun after all, he is totally chou ikemen.

Hell the US is jumping on Trudeamania 2.0 now.

I haven't seen the US care about us like that since ever, well during my lifetime. Lmao

They had their one chance and they blew it. It will literally never happen again in my life time, so yeah, there's no point in voting anymore.
Don't be so dramatic. You have no way of knowing that.

I never expected Gilles Duceppe to be defeated in my riding in 2011. I never expected the orange wave to happen, period, even if Jack Layton was popular.

You never know. There might be a huge scandal erupting with the Liberals again in the next few years, there might be a new super charismatic leader taking hold of the NDP.

You never know. Don't give up, man.

Ah, Jean Chretien. How I miss you.
Yeah I kind of miss him too. Not so much anymore now that Harper is out, but I have oddly fond memories of his verbal blunders, his atrocious accent, his protester throat-grabbing shenanigans... xD

I like this one myself - Craig Oliver hits the Harper absurdity out of the park.
Nice one. I like this Craig Oliver gentleman. Seems like a sensible man.

Illness is the doctor to whom we pay most heed; to kindness, to knowledge, we make promise only; pain we obey.
This is our generation's first true representative at this level. Let's see how he does: if he succeeds this'll be the way forward for all nations when our culture finally becomes a part of the established culture.

He promised to look into the disappearance of many native woman that were being kidnapped and murdered along the Highway of tears.

This is something that has been completely ignored by everyone up until this point and I really applaud him for finally doing something about it.

Its been long enough that people have ignored this.
