Cheapest place in the UK, now, I've never used Google Music before, I am assuming I can download the tracks to my PC and burn them to disc?, or is there somekind of draconian DRM.
Edit : 7Digital have a 320kps version for £4.99.......what bitrate is Google Music?
If you wanna say this album is samey then that's your business but IMO nearly every track on this album has synths powerful enough to have been a hit record in the 80s. Lyrically, this album is pretty much treading the same water as the first, but to be frank I'm not listening to Chvrches records for profundity, I want to fuckin bop and bop I shall.

Listening now and this album is incredible. I'm only halfway through but already there are so many good tracks. Martin's High Enough To Carry You Over was fantastic.

Unsurprisingly my shipment was delayed. Considering the luck I've had with vinyls this year...

I kinda feel the same way, but the more I listen to it the more I'm liking it. Definitely more a grower than the first for me. Also even though the sound is similar in general, I almost feel like this is a more mature album. The general mood is different I guess.
Then again I didn't absolutely hate Purity Ring's second album.

I love all the singles (never ending circles, clearest blue, leave a trace) but the song that stands out to me is Empty Threat.
Some other great songs on the album. I'd say it's as strong as their debut. A good amount of great songs but some not so great. Gonna need to spend a bit more time listening to the album start/finish. I really can't get into the songs where the guy sings.

Looks like ordering the 11-track regular CD from Amazon gets me Autorip for the 14-track special edition.
As great as that deal is... might just cancel that and go buy the 17-track CD from Target later today.

It's not as in-your-face catchy as some of my other favs on this disc but god damn it the melodies and harmonies in Down Side of Me melt my god damned face. There actually isn't another track on this album more worthy of being its longest than that one.

Make Them Gold is sonic perfection to my ears. This album is priceless.
Sad that they ran into production problems and my vinyl will be delayed. They did send out a download for the trouble though.
I agree rhythm wise, at least with most of the first half of the album(standard), since I haven't gotten through it all. Mind that I love Mayberry's improved vocals throughout. Keep You on My Side throws the similarity off and is more reminiscent of Erasure and such. I'm loving that track. I'm also really liking Doherty's track and Make Them Gold. Album is amazing so far.
It is similar to their last album, but different enough and shows enough growth for me to not get bored by it.
It reminds me in a way of R.E.M.'s beginning. There was Murmur and then Reckoning came out a year late and sounded very similar, if a lot cheerier.
Now...a third album of this sound might not be my cup of tea. But at the moment I am loving it.

Going into this album blind. My copy from Amazon won't arrive till Wednesday tho, total bummer. I played the fuck out of Bones of What You Believe. The disc still has a spot on my car's CD player and hasn't come out since I put it in there. lol
Could not agree more. 'Down Side of Me' almost-immediately became my favorite after those first few listens of the NPR stream, and every day I listen to it I get reminded why: the atmosphere it establishes, sonically, is nothing short of haunting.
Loving 'Playing Dead' and 'Bury It', and absolutely adore how the album ends just right after it with 'Afterglow'. Lowest point of the album for me has to be 'Make Them Gold', and even that one is charming as hell.

Just made the time to listen to the whole thing. It has more slowish tracks than BoWYB, unfortunately.
Leave a Trace, Clearest Blue, Keep You On My Side, and Empty Threat are gold. I can't see myself getting tired of those for a long time. Never Ending Circles, Make Them Gold, and High Enough to Carry You Over are pretty good. Right now I feel like the rest are just OK. The instrumentation for every track is 100% on point though. Outstanding sound.
EOE isn't a total homerun like BoWYB, where every single song is good at worst, but it's still very solid. I hope I'll like the various bonus tracks I haven't had a chance to hear yet.
