I had gone all these years without catching covid. I've traveled, gone to concerts, situations where so many people have been around me, and I didn't catch covid. No idea where I caught it from but I felt like shit sooo bad yesterday. Originally thought I just had the flu, but it got so bad where I went to the ER. Positive test came back. I hope this isn't an indication of how 2025 is gonna be for me

unless you did get tested constantly you can't really know that.

if you had a scratchy throat, or slight fever in the last few years, all of those cases could have been covid.

I had one case where all I really felt was a scratchy thoat and a tiny bit of limb pain. then suddenly as the symptoms where basically gone I lost my sense of smell for a week while feeling fully healthy otherwise

I am sorry your family members died. It affected the obese and the elderly more vigorously. But most people survived.

I had covid once lats year, my symptoms were different to others I know. I didn't lose my sense of taste or smell but I got a really high fever for about 2 days (105* F)

I'll say what I did in another thread: Oil of Oregano, Black Seed Oil and get plenty of Vitamin C. For at least several days with Oil of Oregano take two capsules at breakfast, lunch and dinner times daily and two Black Seed Oil daily. That should help in killing the virus and the vitamin C to help with the recovery. You may likely need Prednisone to restrengthen your lungs.

I caught covid in '21 but while it did lay me out the case of pneumonia that I had caught in '17 had been far, far worse.

Better now than in fall of 2020. The strain is watered down considerably since then, and folks know how to manage it. Feel better and don't sweat it too much.

The Covid lockdowns and how they handled it was criminal, I built up an inventory of Covid tests, hand sanitizer and masks—all the virus meant was to get healthier, stronger, social distance, quarantine when sick and they say the virus is over there’s hundreds of mutations, a lot of people are infected every day and these are people who have healthy conditions, commonsense like washing hands.

Godspeed. I've had covid twice. The first time laid me out in bed for days - The first night was a hellish repetition of wake up->move to other side of bed->go to sleep->wake up->change bed sheets->go to sleep->repeat from step 1 because I kept sweating through my sheets and moving to the other side of the bed meant I didn't have to force myself up to change them. Second time wasn't so bad.

I think I caught it 3 weeks ago.

Had crazy fever and night sweats, aches and pains. The second night I thought I might be in trouble as I had a severe case of the shakes.

When all but the most obvious symptoms had died down, the cold sweats persisted for a few days longer.

Thought it was just the regular flu, but now I'm not so sure. All in all, took about 10 days for me to recover.

Had covid during the worst times, by that I mean in 2021 Delta Covid and nearly died from it and then got one year later and it was like a flu. So chances are you are going to fine, if you don't have some untreated underlying issue. However as always with this shitty virus, don't play a hero, if your breathing gets tougher, go to hospital.

COVID today is not the COVID that hit in 2019/2020. This COVID is very contagious but not as virulent. A lot of people died in the early days of COVID but less do now due the virus increasing its ability to survive; which it has done with perfection and is now endemic in the whole world.

Same thing happened to me back in the summer of 2020 felt perfectly fine but couldn't smell or taste anything. I did have an obese uncle pass from covid though

The vaccines did not prevent COVID from becoming endemic which was the goal of the health agencies that rolled them out. Preventing deaths is one thing but now that it is endemic the number of deaths will be ongoing and forever, similar to influenza

Now we have a disease which exists worldwide reoccurs multiple times a year and could theoretically mutate back to its deadlier form which causes thrombosis, pulmonary fibrosis, and possibly cause another mass wave of deaths.

Had it & got over it with the usual regimen ~ Zinc, Vitamins, Proper food for energy, Nyquil/Dayquil type of OTC meds (since back then they weren't prescribing a damned thing like a ZPack/Tamiflu etc.) and Rest. If I had access to Ivermectin, Monoclonal Antibodies or anything else that has been PROVEN to help I would have. But we all know how that was handled....and they were ALL wrong. Cost people their lives with the BS.

Well isn't the deal it's a bigger concern than the flu if you're elderly or obese? (Not sure what age or what BMI. Possibly immunocompromised) If you're not in those groups I think it's less likely to kill you than the flu is. (People know that the flu kills people, even little kids, right?) Admittedly probably one of the reasons to be concerned about COVID in the US is how many people here are fat. (And I mean morbidly obese.)

Agreed mostly. Part of my point is how there were/are technologies that can be used in conjunction to what you & your physician agree with. If you are elderly or morbidly obese and feel the need to fully vaccinate, then go right ahead. But to limit others while also limiting therapies for yourself (which are NOT harmful) is remarkably myopic and closed-minded.
