Tell me, what Life path are you planning to undertake, and what kind of playstyle are you aiming for? Also Male or Female V?

I had my mind made-up with going with Nomad Male for first playthrough because of the (cliché?) popular reason of seeing Night City for the first time through the eyes of a character who’s also new to Night City. Tempted now to go with Corpo first (gender TBD) because it feels like I know the least about that lifepath from all the media that’s been released so far. Give me a sniper rifle that shoots through walls, a badass katana, and stealth and hacking attributes and I’m golden.

I got banned from the other forum because "dismissing transphobia". We are forced to say something about transphobia, or we are banned, it seems...

NeoGAF will be my new home to talk about this game. That is the only thing i want, to talk about the game that im expecting for about 8 years.

Please, be welcome! You aren’t the first and aren’t the last :)

I’ll be going with a “evil” corpo playthrough first. Don’t care about anyone else, just trying to get to the top of Night City. Will be resorting to gunplay as least as possible. I’ll see if I can talk myself out of every situation. If I can double-cross someone on the way, even better. Keanu will probably hate me.

second playthrough will be the “paragon” Street Kid where I’ll be fighting against the system. Keanu will probably love me.

There is a dude that says he finished the game in 22 hours. What do you guys think about it?

Many reviewers played the game for 16 hours, and most of them say they feel they haven't scratched the game surface, and this dude completed the game in just 22 hours? I have my doubts, unless he made some sort of speedrun.

My first playthrough will be a Female Nomad. I think i will enjoy to see Nigh City from outside and then finally entering the city.

For the second i will play with a Male Corp.

The guy at the other forum that was playing the game has finished it

Dude wasnt really happy with the game while playing, but at the end, he said "wow"

Said that it was emotional.

Not really spoilers, but just about the game length: -

According to what I read. He played on easy and pretty much main pathed it, which is why he managed to finish it so quickly (22 hours). He acknowledges that it would take a lot longer on higher difficulties and if you engaged with more side content (of which there is apparently tonnes). Also multiple endings (as one would expect).

Welcome Revenge Revenge

Sorry to hear that duder. If you want to vent about that, in particular, there's a thread for Era talk here: -

I dare say the regulars there will enjoy you telling the tale of your ban.

However, with regard to CP2077, what platform are you playing on, and more importantly what are you thinking for your V?

Pfft Paragon Street kid? They're no space for Robin Hood in Cyberpunk, just Robbing in the hood.

My idea of the character is to choose corpo life path, and then use all this knowledge against corporations.

I think I will be using long range rifles and melee mixture. Maybe also hacking.

Or choose nomad. I don't know now.

Street kid i save for the third time I play the game if it is good enough to justify it.

Not long now. Although i would be more calm knowing there is not going anything weird with the reviews...

As I just posted, he played on easy and hardly any side missions, and acknowledged that he missed a lot of content. He said on a regular playthrough he would expect it to take a lot longer. Plus the game has multiple endings.

Personally, unless they were playing for review (and I can't imagine they were as they'd be breaking embargo) I think they were looking to be first. Personally....if you've got a gourmet meal on your plate I don't see the point in rushing it, but that's just my opinion (I spend a couple of hundred hours on my first TW3 playthrough).

Thank you, that might be a good reason. I also believe CDPR said something like Side Quests will take more time than the Main Quest. Also that the side quests can change the main quests.

Im going to play it on PC.

I have a GTX 1070 Ti, so no Ray Tracing. That feature will have to wait for me.

For my V, im going first for female because i liked the voice acting more than the male version. But i will also play as a male in my second playthrough.

I agree tho lets focus this thread on the game not offsite drama right?

Don't worry about it dudes. it's been reported.

Yeah, I think that albeit the main storyline will have some impetus to it, there's going to be a lot of opportunities to digress and adjust things through side quests.

I'm in the same boat (same GPU as well). Ideally, I'd love to play it on a 3000 card with that RTX goodness, but right now with the Rona and financial uncertainty, it isn't the right time to commit to that kind of an outlay, coupled with really wanting to hold out for the Ti Cards. I'm hoping that they've planning on at least on DLC release next year as I figure that would be a good opportunity to do another playthrough.

That dont bother me tbh, if some finishes the game in only 20 hours. when I play an open world game that I enjoy witcher 3, mad max, ghost of Tshushima so on I do everything all side quest before main quests. Don't even use fast travel. So I know I'll get 70 hours plus.

My first char will be a female Net runner who likes hot sweaty lesbo action. for the footage I've seen the female voice is better then the male voice.

I can't wait till next Friday.

Imagine playing the game so rushed like this... So happy I’m not a reviewer and I can just play the game on my own tempo and have my first experience with all the intended patches.

Its still a very good Gpu if we play at 1080p ;)

Let's see how things go. Maybe when the DLC's are released, we already have a new Gpu with Ray Tracing support hehe

Also, for my first playthrough, i don't wanna go to Google searching what are the consequences of my choices, to choose the better one. I want to choose them with my heart and blind. First time i played The Witcher 3, i went to google many times to check the consequences, and because of that, i believe i missed the best part of the game.

Indeed. I'd be the worlds worst game reviewer

Editor: 'Hey Kad, we've assigned you to review CP2077' '

Me:

3 days later

Editor 'Hows it going?'

Me: 'well, I spent the first day creating my V, I spent the second just exploring the game world (and locating all the stools I can sit on) loads of screenshots in Photomode. (I catalogued every one) , and the third day I did the initial mission 6 times because I wanted to try out a few different things'

Editor 'Ok so when do you think your review will be ready?

Me: '2022 ..maybe'

Didn’t IGN guy said he didn’t reached the game title until 6 hours in and said that it is a slow RPG and people shouldn’t get into it expecting an FPS? 22 hours seems very low even if he went for the main story only and we are speaking RPGs generally and we know CDPR games above average RPGs in term of length. Yeah something is not right.

Well one of the journalists who played for the 16 hours and focused almost exclusively on the main quest, said he thought he was around 2/3 through the main story. So the main quest may be quite a bit shorter than The Witcher 3's. I am still hoping it's 30+ hours if you take your time.

haha the game that is set in a world where you can be who ever the fuck you want. Where you can create a character with a female voice and have a dick. Where a trans person made that person because it has a deeper representation that they should actually be totally okay with. Those people keep finding it transphobia lmao
they can't be reasoned with ever

I think it depends how you approach the game, really. I have no doubt you'll likely be able to rush through the main questline and beat it quickly, but I'd rather take my time, do everything the game has to offer and take the world in.

Either way, 22 hours is a lot for me, I don't have as much time these days. That would last me ages, and I already know my playthrough will be much longer because I like to see everything the game has to offer, and I'll spend a lot of time just driving around Night City.

Indeed. I'm going to be wandering around soaking everything up. I know not everything is going to be accessible and all that, but having seen some of the leaked footage, Night City seems so well realised it's really scratching my explorer itch something fierce. I really wish I'd taken Thursday and Friday off now...

The level of detail in the City seems insane. When you just look at certain parts of it, and see how much there is to explore you begin to really understand how huge the game will be.

The beauty of the game really is going to be all the side quests I think. Looking forward to it. I've actually been playing Deus Ex recently and it's got me super in the mood for it.

Far from it. I think most of us are just: -

Probably a good choice really. I think there's been a lot of unfair comparisons levelled at the game pitting it against GTA V where is reality what CDP are really delivering is deeper Des Ex style experience on a much larger and more involved canvas. I liked Deus Ex games, but you always felt the edges to the environments, and it was something you had to look over (lack of vehicles driving around and barricades everywhere), but with this, albeit they're still clearly going to be there, it's going to be less intrusive and jarring in that regard.

Came here from resetera hoping that people just discussed games and whatnot. This topic has me doubting that

Unfortunately a decent number of reseterans darken this forum as well, like rats in the attic, hard to detect and eliminate. Best you can do is use ignore, my list of blocked on GAF is massive but the site as a whole in nowhere near as shitty as era.

Before the 'exodus' GAF had turned into a shitty echochamber, it was a real cesspit, but most of the people who made it like that are now strutting their stuff at era, which means GAF is slower but more palatable, imo anyway.

There’s always a speed racer. I remember people saying they beat Death Stranding in like 10 hours while my playthrough took 80+. For some people, games are Pringles and they chomp them so they can get to the next “thing.”

they did say the main story is apparently shorter than Witcher 3 - so it could be possible someone finished it quickly like that. Imma take my time tho - just still torn about which life path

I agree. I don't really get the GTA V comparisons. The only comparison you can really make is the fact you are driving around an open-world. Literally nothing else feels remotely similar to me. This game seems like it will be much more fleshed out and deeper than any GTA game. If you have played GTA, you will notice Rockstar doesn't really flesh out their world too much. They have some side stuff, but it is few and far between. Very lacking in places to explore inside as well. Cyberpunk just seems like Deus Ex on a larger scale which I love.

I always felt that way about Deus Ex too. It's open, but you only really have levels to explore with boundaries. The skill tree in this game gets me really excited. I love figuring out my own build. I think when I saw this way back I was sold:

Yeah I made the mistake of looking up a few choices outcomes when playing Witcher 3 - I’d never played a game where your choice has that major of an impact and got kinda worried I’d fuck my self in some way lol. It also took me quite a while for that game to finally click in my head as being as awesome as it is - had trouble getting through the first few levels. Definitely expecting a similar sort of thing and will not be doing any checking outcomes for this
