Death Stranding 2: On The Beach Releases June 26th, 2025

Just saw the trailer. He went full Kojima this time.

Is that Luca Marinelli from The Old Guard?

Italian Snake, goddamn he looks good. Holy fuck, Kojima doesn't fuck around.

With MGS3 remake special edition pre-ordered and the steelbook version of AC Shadows on deck.....I yet again seek the collectors edition of Death Stranding 2

(If GTA6 even comes out this year, that will make another special edition)

I doubt BF6 is coming out this year and doubt they'll have steelbook, for some time I don't think they did special editions like that as I vaguely recall getting the BF3 special edition on PC that came with a dog tag
I still have that to this day

Keep in mind that footnotes like this do not rule out it being the PS5 Pro version being shown. It's still a PS5.
What he's saying though is why does it mention in-game cinematics specifically in the first line.
The capture mentions that the video is a mixture of in-game cinematics and gameplay. And that it was captured in PS5, which also is mentioned in the official screenshots.

Normally when captured in PS5 Pro is mentioned as PS5 Pro, but yes: it could be PS5 Pro. But not PC.

Yeah but I think Unknown soldier is asking why the distinction. Let me swap the sentences around so that perhaps it becomes clearer.

"mix of in-game cinematics and gameplay. In-game cinematics captured on PS5"

He's asking could gameplay be different for them to state it like that, so for example captured on PS5 Pro and in-game cinematics PS5.

I simply love Kojima. Death Stranding was my GOTY when it came out. Incredible experience. He has gathered such a talented team of people around him and then going all in on his vision for the next piece. Great respect for me and I wish more would dare to follow in his foot steps - do not compromise when it comes to creative content.

lol at all the border references in this trailer. Kojima is so done with American politics lol. I wonder if this game gets cancelled on twitter.
Covid - we should connect back together, get out of our bunkers.
Now - it was a mistake to connect because people are using it for bad purposes, border issues, USA guns problem, etc.

Kojima goat.

Media blackout for me, I want to save my feeling complete utter confusion about what the fuck is going on for the actual game not a trailer (took me a while to sorta figure out the first one). I just hope we don’t get shit as frustrating at BTs hauling your ass out of your truck and dragging you a mile away then having to fight a mini boss all while BB/Lou is crying non stop. Also delivering packages to Conan O’Brian really sucked because his bunker was in a really annoying spot.
Watching Kojima trailers and hype is part of the game release!
I will go on blackout before release.

I tried with the first game - but the story was so impenetrable and the balancing heavy shit thing really wasn't doing it for me. I think I could even have tolerated it if it was a plain walking simulator, but having to walk while balancing a bunch of shit even took the fun out of that. Maybe I'll give it another chance. Did the story in the first game eventually amount to something?

Day one. My most anticipated game this year.

Yet another one of their fantastic "innovations" that has left a lasting impression on the industry.

Wasn't it one of the third party publishers that did it first?

I feel like ubisoft or ea started early access. Still it sucks.

Back on topic and hype. If they announce a special edition pro for this....im going to struggle to not invest.

Honestly, the first game is easily in my top games of all time. Can't fucking wait!

Looks amazing... but will this be 30fps on PS5 consoles?

I wonder when the PC version releases - especially since Kojima now owns the Death Stranding ip

Trailer is nice.

One thing I don’t like about good trailers is, playing the game is completely different experience to watching the trailer.

I get into game expecting it to be mind blowing but first 10 hrs am doing fed ex deliveries. Not cool.
I been a day one Metal Gear fan and I also played the hell out of ZOE but I was disappointed personally when I finally got the chance to play Death Stranding a month or two ago. I uninstalled it about two hours in, I thought it was absolutely terrible.

The fact that I'm more excited to play a Metal Gear remake than a new Kojima game is crazy to me.

Thought it was already confirmed to have the standard 60ps Perf and 30fps Fidelity mode setup that Sony favors?
Think it was in a PS Blog post awhile back. Could be wrong though.

I want the special edition, but I want my physical copy too.
I would have bought the CE, but this is simply not a Collectors Edition.
What am I supposed to collect? A redeemed license that's sitting on a server somewhere and I have no control over its whereabouts or use?
No thanks - this is just disrespectful towards collectors and the target customer, scummy Sony at its best.

There's a physical release for the standard edition, but yeah, the collector's edition only gives a download code (they did the same thing with their past CE releases: SM2, GoW:R, HFW).

Strange marketing when the CE which comes with a digital download code is listed in the "Physical Version" section.
I mean according to that logic, a postcard with the code stamped on it and send to you would be a physical version of the game

None of the Sony PS5 collector's editions came with a disc. Ragnarok, Forbidden West, etc. Just a download code. This isn't new.

Wow what a slap in the face for the fans. “Here buy this expensive junk you hoarder”.
I will wait for a PS5 disc regular edition and be happy with it… but suspiciously no pre-orders yet. Don’t let me down Kojima or I won’t watch your 30-minute segment in the Jeff’s Awards show this year.

I played DS1 for 20+ hours. Something in life came up and I was out for a month. When I came back to DS1 I couldn't get back into it. Too many systems and sub systems and controls are badly explained. The story and side stories are all so vast and convoluted that it was impossible for me to continue.
