I have that Zojirushi rice maker and it's fantastic.

When looking at the amazon yearlies (even if the year is still young) it's always amazing that 9 of the top 20 items are giftcards or memberships. 2015 were 7 of top 20.

No wonder retail games are in decline. Taken into notice that you can also buy cards in every second cornershop and of course charge your account by credit card it must be enormous money that is made there.

Can someone who knows the math make a quick and dirty guess how much xboxone and playstation4 earn each month through subscriptions alone (worldwide roundabout install base, forget about exchange rates, no discounts)?
Thank you

That trend shouldn't be too much of a surprise. The average amazon customer is already digitally inclined.
Sure, but sending parcels is still the centerpiece of their business I guess. That's what made them huge, and that's what makes amazon different from the rest of the digital economy.
I can imagine those cards pay often stuff that is per se digital (subscriptions, netflix, downloadable indie stuff and so on).

They get a small percentage of digital code sales as well, no reason to not get in on that action.

And I think a lot of people are still afraid to give their CC info to Sony or Microsoft. Theft aside, no one wants to worry about PSN+/XLG re-upping automatically.

I am 100% digital this gen, and using Amazon cards means tax free games and I can get them from my US account which has a wider selection than my Korean one. I think many of our European brothers and Sisters do this to save A LOT on their digital games as well.

I trust you.
But I am not sure if you or Gaf in general is representative. 100% digital is a minority still.
I would love to know how the money from the cards is used, split between subscriptions, paid services like netflix and games.

Yes, PS4 was the best selling console of last year, but by only 5,000 unit.

Honestly, like i said, i'm surprised there isn't still the > 3 million PS4 annunced in UK, that's why i said is for sure super close to those numbers. I think there is a very strong chance for happen by end of January.

If PS4 is still < 3 million by end of this month, there is some of wrong.

PS4 over 3 million in UK.

I KNEW IT!!!!1!111!1!1!!1! :p

EDIT: And yeah, XB1 well over 2 million. Both sold ~5.5m combined.

Ah the day you will all figure out the mind blowing information about XBOX

I think kev is telling the truth guys. He usually doesn't keep the joke going for this long unless it's about MAUs or The Last Guardian.

Going to flip my prediction for an Xbox win in December instead.
