Although DF focused pretty much solely on that one area, XSX was also dropping frames consistently in other areas.
Not as drastic, but drops to 59 and 58 are frequent on XSX, while the PS5 is locked 60. They didn't talk about that at all.
Series S should be able to piss this at 4k 60. But life is strange I guess.Exactly. I haven't checked GPU performance charts for this game but I imagine it doesn't take that beefy a setup to run this game at 4k/60 on PC. I would have guessed that both PS5 and XsX have PLENTY of headroom for this.
Like I said earlier, I don't understand the performance hiccup here. If it was just Series vs PS5 you could say it was I/O related but it's the same on One X vs Pro...so I dunno
Nope. PS4 Pro has one advantage over X1X in GPU and that's in pixel fillrate throughput. PS4 Pro is capable of 58.3 Gpix/sec while X1X is capable of 37.5 Gpix/sec. +55% more on Pro.Someone is gonna have to explain to me why this is becoming a trend.
Multiple games now have one area, or one part one level, where performance tanks on Xbox consoles. I don't get why this happens.
What makes this particular case extra interesting is the same problem pops up when comparing One X vs Pro, so it isn't something SSD or I/O related (doesn't One X basically have better everything vs the Pro?). Same problem, same area.
Why is this area of the map only a problem on Xbox consoles, and exist across two different generations?
I would have thought this game would have a 120fps mode on PS5 and XsX. Yet this one part of the map can take the Series X into the 40s, and the One X into the 30s, seemingly at random? Weird.
This port is terrible. Level Crysis remastered.
There are no winners, just everyone lose.
pixel fillrate throughput
DF have been doing damage control like that for every game since day 1, it's not news anymore but it's still hilarious. Obviously, they're the only ones saying this (not VGTech, not NXGamer, nobody else...)
You can't have software issues on every game released on Earth which would each time make the Series X version inferior.
At some point you have to admit PS5 just runs games better and move on.
Older games like these can run at 120fps and above but they're so heavily single-threaded that even on a PC with the latest Intel CPUs it might not be 100% locked 120fps.Exactly. I haven't checked GPU performance charts for this game but I imagine it doesn't take that beefy a setup to run this game at 4k/60 on PC. I would have guessed that both PS5 and XsX have PLENTY of headroom for this.

how the hell is a remaster hitting 49 fps on the Series X? It's a 360 game.

I normally don't chime in on these comparison threads, but this is a great point.
Is there any good reason why this game should be dropping frames on either of these systems?
The difference here is either an unforeseen bug, or really shoddy development work. It's likely that the developers will become aware of this, fix the problem, and then both systems' fans can enjoy great performance across the board.
My point was that they didn't talk much about those random but frequenty 1-2 FPS drops on XSX.Because honestly there's nothing else to really say for the PS5. Its locked 60, no issues anywhere else, the end.
There were only three options:DF have been doing damage control like that for every game since day 1, it's not news anymore but it's still hilarious. Obviously, they're the only ones saying this (not VGTech, not NXGamer, nobody else...)

C´mon man! We´re still on page 1, why u hef to ruin da party?! Wait until we reach page 2 or 3 ... dang it! U hef to respek da rule! of trolling.![]()
DF said its a software issue
That's because 1-2 frames is inconsequential for anything other than console wars.My point was that they didn't talk much about those random but frequenty 1-2 FPS drops on XSX.
Agreed that there isn't much to talk about PS5 here. It's just flawless, and that's about it.
Thoughts and VRR's to Riky.Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo......
We should all stick together here and support Riky in every way we can, things can't be easy for him at the moment. Our thoughts are with you Riky.
Is that the one where you can mod your car and put neon lights under? I loved that game.My only real question is why did this get a remaster instead of Underground?
1-2 frames don't matter to me, personally. But using those dropped frames in reference to that major dip during the zig-zag road might help understand things better. That's because 1-2 frames is inconsequential for anything other than console wars.
Is baffling that things like that pass the Quality Control on X. This game should run at 4k60 with the fans stopped in the X.
Which in turn removes the its the pixel fill rate causing the problem as SX drops below Pro in that section and that has a lot more pixel fillrate than Pro.Nope. PS4 Pro has one advantage over X1X in GPU and that's in pixel fillrate throughput. PS4 Pro is capable of 58.3 Gpix/sec while X1X is capable of 37.5 Gpix/sec. +55% more on Pro.
Likewise, PS5 also has a higher pixel fillrate throughput than XSX GPU by 22%.
So is this a bc game that actually "counts" now? Lol
Wait for the tools

Here is how I'm seeing this: XSX isn't a locked 60. It frequently drops 1-2 frames. Then it drops a lot of frames in that specific area -- which means it's hitting its limitations: either for data streaming (less likely) or for GPU (more likely). If it were a locked 60 everywhere else and dropped frames randomly in just that one area, a 'bug' would have been a more logical answer.
Oh look, another person that didn't watch the video and is looking rather silly now. It's a software glitch that also affects Xbox One X, has nothing to do with the hardware, but I'm sure you missed that because it's more important to console war.
Is that the one where you can mod your car and put neon lights under? I loved that game.
I think you're wasting your time. The issue is exactly the same when comparing One X to the Pro, so I don't think this is hardware related. Is there anywhere the Pro has an advantage over the One X, hardware wise?
Same area of the map tanks performance on both One X and Series X compared to PS4 Pro and PS5. I find it really strange that this is happening.
Nope. PS4 Pro has one advantage over X1X in GPU and that's in pixel fillrate throughput. PS4 Pro is capable of 58.3 Gpix/sec while X1X is capable of 37.5 Gpix/sec. +55% more on Pro.

You're saying then, that it is not on the software side, so what is it that affects both consoles on the exact same spot? On a hardware level, of course, since you're launching suspicion on the assessment that it is something on the software side. That should be easy for you to do.Yes, sure, every time it's a software issue or glitch for DF.
Games run better on PS5, it's okay, your console is still great too.
As pointed out numerous times, it isn't just a Series X problem, the same issue/difference exists when comparing the One X to the PS4 Pro version. It's something exclusive to the Xbox version of the game on across both generations, and to me just doesn't make any sense.
Best post of the thread so far and no doubt for the whole thread.Of course it's a software issue. Games are software. What's stupid is blindly trying to use any one game as a benchmark of the hardware, without any awareness if how the games were made.
This game doesn't dictate anything about the consoles, just like Dirt 5 didn't, just like Hitman 3 didn't.

probalby because undergounr is really old and need remake and they prefer to make cheap remasterMy only real question is why did this get a remaster instead of Underground?
i legit laughed at that excuse. software issue? what other issue could it be? games are software. what are they even trying to say here.Of course it's a software issue. Games are software. Not saying that pixel fillrate is the reason for performance drops. It could be or it could be due to something else entirely. Something the devs should be able to find out if they looked at GPU profiling in that particular scene.I honestly don't know exactly what that means/does. Could "pixel fillrate" explain the performance tank in that one area on both One X and Series X? Otherwise I don't see why the performance difference exists on the One X vs Pro.
Clearly, it's intentional on that version.

Right.And for the X1X too apparently. PS4 Pro > X1X right?
