After more than 20 years, the story of the Hero of Neverwinter finally continues in this epic new adventure from Luke Scull, fantasy author and lead designer of Tyrants of the Moonsea!

In the Ten Towns of Icewind Dale, the Hero of Neverwinter awakens. Stripped of their recent memories and left to die by a mysterious power, they must survive a dire threat to the dale as they seek the truth behind their abduction. The answers they discover will shape the very fate of the Forgotten Realms.

Explore the arctic wilderness of the infamous Icewind Dale. Fight snow goblins, ice trolls, yetis, and worse as you navigate the frozen tundra and icy wastes and uncover a sinister plot to unleash a rage-filled godling upon the North. Only with the aid of friends old and new will the legendary Hero of Neverwinter be able to recover their memories and prevent the Doom of Icewind Dale…

Features:

An expansive DLC with 10-15+ hours of gameplay
Navigate the world map to explore 14 areas in Icewind Dale including Icewind Pass, the Dwarven Valley, and the Reghed Glacier. Visit several of the famed Ten Towns!
Recruit from 5 different companions for your party, including returning characters from the original Wailing Death campaign as well as Tyrants of the Moonsea
14 new monsters to face off against, including new creature portraits
16 new music tracks and 24 new ambient area tracks bring Icewind Dale to life in all its majestic beauty
An official sequel to the Original Campaign that also ties in with the Shadows of Undrentide, Hordes of the Underdark, and Ossian Studios’ campaigns

I paid good money for this Dynex!
That is not something I expected to see in 2025. Wow.

Very curious if it’s actually good. The quality of original content that Beamdog has done isn’t exactly stellar, judging from that Baldur’s Gate expansion from years back… but who knows? I think it’s cool to see NWN1 getting another bite at the apple. It always had my favorite vibe from that era of CRPGs.

Beamdog is still alive? Wow.

A new official module in Icewind Dale is f'n dope.

An expansive DLC with 10-15+ hours of gameplay

^ for $9. Can't complain. Wonder if this will release for the console versions.

Yeah, I've been waiting for reviews as well. What's quite interesting about this DLC that it wasn't done by Beamdog per se but by a solo dev from Ossian Studios. The guy created multiple free mods for NWN1 and worked on several paid DLCs like Darkness over Daggerford and a more recent Tyrants of the Moonsea

To my understanding, Doom of Icewind Dale is his passion project and a part of the larger saga which is meant to continue official NWN1 campaign and sorts of tie everything with other official expansions. Seems like it was initially just a thing he was working on a side, but managed to secure a licence from Wizards of the Coast and Beamdog to release it as an official DLC to NWN1EE

I’ll probably wait for GOG version but it’s cool that they did this. Their BG2 stuff wasn’t great but whatever Ill take it.
GOG just released it too. You can find it here, I also updated main post for that link

Is this the first time a game company has done a retroactive DLC?
NWN1 itself had several paid expansions released only for EE like Tyrants of the Moonsea and Dark Dreams of Furiae. Titan Quest released several DLCs long after its launch. I think Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning had a similar situation as well. Beamdog also did the Siege of Dragonspear to Baldur's Gate 1

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Neverplayed NWN. Heard the original campaign sucks but that the other modules are pretty cool. Glad to have another one to look forward to.
