I bet there are leering eyes at Sony headquarters right now. Not that I agree that this is the strategy they should take, but EA would be quite the pickup.
It's truly terrible, BF 1 & V in comparison are 10/10 games. Still playing both, but I've sold the gift, which was given to me, in form of 2042 (I like that person less now)
Imagine making Mass Effect and Dragon Age exclusive? Not that it would really move any needle, because I don't think it would but the salt would be fun to read anyway. But, no, I don't think this will happen.
This Battlefield was the "easiest" one to make. You just had to do BF3 + BF4 with some cool maps and better graphics, That's it and it would have sold millions because people were tired of World 1 and 2 BF games.
So what did DICE do? Fuck everything up. The new operators or whatever the fuck they're called, big ass maps and a very shy list of weapons made sure that this game was dead on arrival.
I'm probably underestimating EA's catalogue but I'm not sure buying them outright would be all that desirable. With EA developing so many sports focused titles, the licenses are expensive and a league could force you to go multi-platform a la the MLB and Sony.
Jesus chrIst. I feel like mods to pin a page showing market cap for all the major publishers + platform holders so we stop getting dumb threads like these.
