6048 damage for Ken/Koro with full resources but i still feel like I should get more >=o

So anyway, this weekend should be fun for Asian tournys, I should watch some Thaiger uppercut to see what Itazan has been up to with his chars.

Thaiger uppercut was so good last year, looking forward to that one more than any other.

Apparently you have never been around people who have played smash bros.

Smash been ruining sticks since the 90's. GCN controllers in particular. I'm surprised the 3ds isn't on fire.

I've only had two Gamecube controllers in the entirety that I've owned the damn system. And I only got the second one because I had to send away my Gamecube for repairs and they gave me a new one. Both of them were in perfect condition, both of them survived Melee and Brawl.

Maybe Smash fans are just reckless?

The faster characters tear sticks up

Fox is the worst

It might also have something to do with me thinking that Dash Dancing is one of the dumbest things ever, so I never did it even when I dabbled with Fox or Falco.

Every single person, who I have encountered that has smash bros, has at least one to two weird game cube controllers.

Its either the c stick dont work at all.

The analog sticks don't got rubber on it,

Or the analog stick is chucnky and slow, and you can tell because their hand on the character select screen move slow as shit.

Either you play smash by yourself, or you have Stockholm syndrome-ed yourself into believing you have perfect controllers, when they are in fact in the worst condition. The sticks don't even have the stick, its just the ball, some of the buttons are missing the button part so now you gotta press inside the hole where the button was.

You be like " its still perfect tho" they be like " beef pls, my hands you controller got me bleedin' I think I got tetanus ".

I don't roll my face on my controllers, and I certainly don't mash. I remember finding it weird that a friend of mine was SHOCKED that my L button was still springy when I let him borrow my controller (this was in 2011, and I had gotten the controller around the same year Pokemon XD came out in 05/06). Just because you can't take care of your shit doesn't mean I can't.

EDIT: Speaking of weird analogs though, two of my friends went and modded their controllers to have the actual sticks swapped out. One friend has a GCube analog where the C-Stick is, and the other has two C-Sticks. We all thought it was hilarious.

That was the best, lmao

I don't know what it is about Smash games but everyone that plays them - from the most casual to the most competitive - look like crazed, autistic chimps, break-dancing on an electrified fence, when playing on those controllers.

Even when you're not doing anything particularly technical, the inputs per second are so high, some kids' hands will look like they're succumbing to shock therapy while you look at the screen and they're just dashing across the frickin' stage with Bowser.

Nah you roll it in nails and shit, thats how you got the tenanus on it, got nails and stuff sticking out of it. Thats the stick, a rusty nail. Dude crying like " i wanna go home " you like " Its perfect, play the game" giving him the stare.

The two c-sticks controller is the most optimal for smash bros.

Seriously though, was the two analog stick controller way better? That seems like that would be several thousand times better.

It took a while to get used to, obviously (since we were so used to having a tiny analog for the C-Stick). It felt completely natural and amazing after a few days though.

Went through 5 gamecube controllers. My main was Sheik.

I know the pain of destroying a gamecube controller. I mained Shiek too and loved playing Day of Reckoning 2. I came up with a special way to mash the A button and it got to the point where the color near and A and B button were fading out, if I can describe correctly, I would strum it with my index finger's nail like a mad man.

I'll still never forget the day that I was playing the torture scene in Twin Snakes, and I pressed the A button so quickly, the game thought I was using a turbo controller and gave me a game over. I think that's the only time I ever really "mashed" my controller, and even then it was just a technique I learned with my thumb & index finger to win those types of minigames.

Beef, we ourselves learned the hidden arts of mashing. We are the chosen ones!

Damn, maybe it was because my main was Samus(and I was casual as fuck) but I only broke one of my GC controllers.

So, is "Sm4sh" what's going to take us to the next level/get us all esports/save the FGs? EVERYONE I know(that play games, that is) is hype about it.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I'd predict:
* People who already play smash seriously will pick it up. Some will love it, some will stay with melee, a couple of people will switch to Brawl, randomly, just because they can.
* People who play it casually will buy the game on 3DS, play it twice and never touch it again.
* The new generation of kids will look at the characters from games 25 years before they were born and go "when's minecraft?"

So overall I'd say it'll replace Melee and that is about it. Luckily Melee is a better integrated part of the FGC these days, so that should at least continue to build because I don't think it is topped out just yet.

Anyone who is well informed with PM, what's the matchup like between game & watch and ganon? (in their opinion since the game is still growing)

Hopefully we'll see more people playing the game and doing the transition to other oponent oriented games.

And holy shit, it took 5 years but Mike Ross is finally doing safe jump setups!
