Nah. It looked relatively easy to make. They were banking on Splatoon gameplay being moderately successful on non Nintendo devices. The bet didn’t pay off but the rationale makes complete sense.

Why are you lumping in Foamstars with games made by Sony first party studios?
Zero single player Sony games were impacted by Foamstars. It’s a Square Enix game.

Its same philosophy, they chasing multiplier money instead of focusing on something else that ppl acually are willing to pay for.
Fortnite player doesnt wanna spend his time and money on game that isnt fortnite, but gamer who loves/plays singleplayer games will definitely want to keep buying/playing new ones after old one is finished

Im not mate, my PS is for exclusives and theres not been anything that intrests me for a while, been playing other stuff but will be jumping on for Ghosts of Yotei and hopefully theres some more stuff im into they havnt anounced yet.

Just on the surface looking at Splatoon vs Foamstars gameplay clips, Foamstars looks like a busy mess. Splatoon has shit squriting everywhere, but the paint is pretty flat to the ground or wall. Foamstars is giant wads of foam everywhere making it look like youre playing in piles of ice cream.
