Without Niall Quinn I'm not sure who will stop him at Sunderland. He gets average teams into the Europa League places for a couple of seasons then leaves behind an almighty mess when it turns out he can't take the team any further (Champions League, cup wins). I don't rate him at all and was very relieved when the board went for Harry and put him on a tight leash with a strict wage structure and spending limits. I'm not sure O'Neil could succeed at a club like Spurs or Arsenal where the club must make a profit to ensure continued success and investment on the pitch.

You've just described Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth.

Vital is overstepping it just a tad.

I dunno man, we were in freefall. The man saved our season. We got a very good deal on Bent.

As for O'Neill to suggest he is solely responsible for Villa woes is silly. he quit/had his contract broken because Villas board & CEO went around him over player sales & purchases. He didnt leave a sinking ship.

He is a smart manager who is exceptional at motivation and counter attacking football who has a weak eye for squad rotation.

At Villa his biggest problem was buying older players on long term expensive contracts for immediate impact which given the pressure he was under to have an immediate impact is not crazy. About half failed to work. Shit happens and we are dealing with it this season, we will be pretty much through it after the summer though.

At Sunderland hopefully he has learnt his lesson or the board will keep a close eye on his spending.

I'm glad someone beat me to that. Thanks Rodvik. I said earlier that the next fiscal year will show improvement over the previous two, and that hopefully financially Lerner has figured out how to maintain stability. Regardless of what you think of MON, he ran Villa a bit recklessly and we are paying for it. And don't pretend like Bent wasn't important for us in the second half of the 2010-11 campaign. It was a good purchase.

Also, Badstuber looks very similar to Arshavin.

The asshole Shepard part or the bioware shitty direction part? :p

Ashley 4 lyfe

'cos of the femshep running animation. It's like she's been at a cucumber for a whole 2 weeks and her minge is like the burnt roast beef you used to get in the school cafeteria.

Man crushes and no one mentioned this guy? For shame.

How can something so ugly be so beautiful? A beast in pink.

Don't know how I missed this, but yep. I didn't want to start following a bandwagon team. Loving Manchester United doesn't mean much when you say you've been following them since Ronaldo was on the team.

An American supporting a side outside of the top 3 makes you the coolest poster on this thread by default.

Welcome! This is the Mass Effect thread though!

Badstuber looks, talks, plays and behaves like he's some farmer's kid from the Alps.
I don't get people praising him as THE defender.

I don't think anyone outside of Bavaria (and Löw) does. I'll go cry in a corner if Löw plays a Badstuber/Mertesacker pairing at the Euro with Hummels and Höwedes on the bench.

Any Mexico supporters in here(Regulus and others) happen to know the roster/potential lineup for your game against Colombia tomorrow?
