Football Thread 2014/2015 |OT11| This Is Our Year!

Do we know why the other bloke wasn't charged?

I think the events was that she slept with the other person willingly whilst fell asleep. Ched then came in and had sex.

So he didn't have consent but also the jury didn't believe that he could reasonably believe he had consent as well.

Bolded is the important part.

Lovren is fit for tomorrow.
I can't believe how bad he's been. I remember watching the Spurs game in August, and he played with very little composure - racing over to Sakho's position, challenging him for a header, making them both lose out, making Spurs one-on-one with Mignolet sticks in the mind - and I thought, "Oh, he'll be great when he beds and composes himself." But he's got worse. Lovren and Balotelli in the one window, I can't.

I hope he starts

It's both hilarious and sad that Can is a better CB than he is currently.

We've got a lot of shopping to do in the summer window. Got to find replacements for Gerrard and presumably Enrique and Johnson, Lucas if he ends up going. Hopefully Wisdom and Ilori can step up.

That's not including a striker or keepers either.

Ugh, Vapiano is so good. Go off the internet bud.

Sneijder officially not coming

Sensational start to 2015!

Great, I think that Juve shouldn't make any silly purchases now. Ultimately, I can't see Juve winning the CL this year, and the worse they will do in the league is second. It would have been stupid to pay for him and his high wages, only to look for someone else to take him in 6-18 months.

However, this is all assuming that Juve actually look to strengthen the squad with world class performers in the summer, who can take them to the next level in the CL.

I fully expect Juve to only sign the Gilardino in the summer

When does Sneijders contract run out? He should just come to Amsterdam when that happens

Good little bit on Mick in an article about Daryl Murphy/Darren Bent:

In a season in which Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe is depicted as the hottest young British manager around, Boro’s Aitor Karanka has become synonymous with continental sophistication and McClaren continues to rehabilitate his reputation as an exceptional coach, the resolutely unglamorous McCarthy seems rather the odd one out.

Yet pound for pound he has arguably done a better job than anyone. The only fee this increasingly flexible tactician has invested in a first teamer since his installation just over two years ago is the £10,000 invested in recruiting Tyrone Mings from Chippenham Town a year ago. When Aaron Cresswell swapped Ipswich for West Ham last summer, a promotion push looked unlikely but, since replacing Cresswell, Mings has established himself as the division’s best left back. Indeed he is so good that Karanka and company will be praying a mooted move to Arsenal takes place this month.

Ten grand spent in two years and they're second in the league. Madness.

Not if it costs money

Because he costs money

You must strive for more. Keeping a player like Vidal for another season is celebrated as a victory. Thats not the Juve i grew up with.

Sadly the problem isn't Juve. The league is dead. At least they seem to be strongly looking at going back to 18 teams, which it was at for most of the successful period of Serie A. Plus, a few more teams are starting to look at investing in their own stadiums. This should mean more revenue directly to clubs, and make the stadiums more fan friendly, so will bring back people to the stadiums.

Hopefully, this will make the league more competitive and attractive for top stars.

McCarthy is an excellent manager in the Championship. He is as close as you can get to guaranteed success in that league imo.

He's done a cracking job at Ipswich.

I'm pleased, because it keeps the attention off our man Stuart Gray, who's is this seasons secret success story in The Championship. For us to be tenth at this stage is almost miraculous.

True Story. In the 00s I was always afraid of Juve. We always lost against them. They were THAT big team. Great players. Boring stadium but almost impossible to win there. They were so far ahead.

All invested in F1.

I wish I was kidding

Fuck Ferrari and forza Lamborghini

It is hilarious that Ferrari paid Raikkonen more than any footballer would in a season NOT to drive for them, and then bring him back a few years later. I am sure Alonso and now Vettel earn pretty much than any footballer, too.

Ferrari is dead, time to wind it up and make a bid for Messi.
I pray for a return to the glory days of Ferrari :(((

Downed a glass of milk without realizing the date on it is Dec 29th.

RIP Carbo

goodbye

seeing as there is a lot of sunny going around on here recently, I offer my advise in the form of a quote.

Dennis: Hey you guys! I swallowed apple seeds!

Dee: So what?

Dennis: Are they poisonous?!?!?

Charlie: Are you kidding me dude? They’re EXTREMELY poisonous!

Dennis: Should I make myself throw up?

Charlie: I would throw up NOW.

I wish i could find a gif

Carbo that would be an awful and anti-climatic end to your wild life

Quick, go buy a Samurai sword and seppuku, it'll sound much cooler in the funeral
