Football Thread 2014/2015 |OT11| This Is Our Year!

Hopefully Sergio Aguero or Eden Hazard.
Hey what do you got against Hazard?

oh, right

I'll add a few of my own:
- Paying £16m for Balotelli and £4m for Lambert, when none of them fit our system.
- Not selling Borini for £11m, where he will probably now be shipped out on loan then bought for £3m by an Italian club.
- Having Simon Mignolet and Brad Jones as our only keepers, with both of them being awful the season before.
- Paying £20m for Dejan Lovren
- Relying the success of our season on an injury prone striker and a 19 year old winger.
- Allowing Coutinho's contract to expire in 18 months, with no talks ongoing about an renewal.

Honestly, I was very happy with the Lovren and Lambert buys at the time.

There's no fucking way that we can possibly be happy with our choices of keeper, and choices up front for the rest of the season though. Even if we've given up on 4th for some reason, those are weaknesses that will see us soon knocked out of all 3 cups

And we did our best to get rid of Borini. Says everything about how shit he is that I resent him for trying to succeed here.

Balotelli was a massive flop that you could see coming a mile off. Not sure if he played in a 2 for Milan, but he's clearly incapable of playing as a lone striker for us.

We'd better get that Coutinho deal sorted. May not have turned into the player we hoped (thought) he would, but he's still one of our key players.

This is too painful.

I remember being happy about Lambert at the time because of two things: A) we still had Suarez in the squad B) I was looking forward to the link up with Lallana. The thing with Lambert, we was happy him joining, as we always thought he was going to be a third or fourth choice, but by the time we got to November he was fucking first choice :lol.

I don’t think we will be happy with our keeper, but it’s crazy to me to pass up on the chance of Valdes on a free transfer who is massively better than what we’ve got. Unless we have someone else lined up, although I doubt we do.

I agree with Balotelli, in hindsight. Anyone who needs another player to make them look good, is a liability.

I am not entirely confident about them tying up contracts, Henderson and Sterling still need to get new contracts.

Has Arsenal spent any money yet?

Is Cavani coming?

Is Luciano Vietto coming?

Is Khedira coming?

Havent you seen the whirlwind of rumours, we are minutes, literally minutes away from signing isco, saurez and I'm unsure of the other big name we are linked to at the moment.

Medicals pending.

But all seriousness apparantly we have our list of targets, that we've wanted for a long time. Wenger isnt willing to deviate from that list, if they become available they become available and we'll go for it, if not, we will make emergency signing similar to kim kallstrom last season.

Sky trying to drum up hype for deadline day

January deadline day is shit.

Lambert was supposed to be third choice, to start the less important games, play when someone else needed a rest, or come on when we're struggling to break a team down and need an option for long balls and crosses.

Instead, he's been first choice, one of 3 strikers available who each have weaknesses that massively hamstring the entire team around them.

Hope Sterling plays up front against Sunderland. He's no less of a goal threat than the other 3, and we can at least play some decent football around him.

But then, Gerrard will be playing so it'll probably be slow as fuck regardless.

Hopefully the prospect of being captain can keep Henderson here, because if I was him I'd be getting pretty fucking disillusioned with being shunted to wingback, especially when it happened the game after his best performance of the season in CM against Swansea.

Messi cuntyness over the last few days is further proof Cristina is a much better person and much better footballer.

He is just 1 balondor behind Pussi and looking at both forms, Cristina will equal him next year and surpass Pussi as the greatest footballer of my time!

Valses is on an 18 months contract with the option of another year.

Linked to Krul as a back up keeper.

We know where this is going.
