For those of you who absolutely adored FF7 Rebirth, where does it rank among your favorite games of all time?

JokerMM

Gay porn is where it's at.
I'm only addressing the people who Loved Rebirth

OG FF7 is in my top 10 games of all time, so there is bias here on my part, but rebirth for me managed to beat it and then some in almost every aspect
i know it has the benefit of being based off an already great story and great music, but it was just executed so damn well. Deep and emotional character dives added so much. Apart from any nostalgia factor - the combat system is amazing. Graphics are incredible, soundtrack is amazing. Voice acting could not have been better. Open world aspect done very very well.

my top 5 games ever are now this:
1-Bloodbrone
2-FF Rebirth
3-PoP sands of time
4-mario bros 2
5-Dark souls 1

TGO

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
It's the most fun I've had with an FF game for a long time.
It sits up there with the original, FFVIII, X & XII.
Now I just want a new FF of that pedigree or a Remake of VIII or X as I believe they're the only ones that will come close to it.

Its way up there, easily in my top 5.

1. FF7 Original (nothings going to top it, too fond of memories)
2. Skyrim
3. FF7 Rebirth
4. Civ 5
5. Half Life 2

I hope all future FF's use it as their template. The combat, the towns, the map, just follow your own work square!

I expect Part 3 to be even better with the full map and high wind, and my favorite scene in all of gaming is still to come (The release of the Weapons)

I'm looking forward to eventually trying this. I played the first FF7 remake and was generally whelmed. Good combat but hated most everything else.

I rarely hear people praise the first though. I've heard the second remake is god tier multiple times now.

I doint' even think he cracks my top 10, but it definitely is in my top 15. I personally like it a smidge less than the original FFVII.

It’s not in my overall Top 10, but it is in my Top 5 Final Fantasies:

5. Final Fantasy IX
4. Final Fantasy VII Remake/Rebirth
3. Final Fantasy VII
2. Final Fantasy X
1. Final Fantasy Tactics

I actually would’ve ranked it higher on the list if Rebirth didn’t crap its pants at the end with that headache inducing ending.

It's lame and boring. The graphics were incredible, but the game suffers from the same pitfall that every graphically-awesome Final Fantasy suffered from: poor execution on virtually everything else. The game feels as slow as Red Dead Redemption 2, the characters are annoying, and the story in this "remake" is so much more boring than it was in the OG even though it psuedo-follows along with the OG's story. This is a prime example of bigger not being better. I got to Chapter 9 and then haven't had the energy to pick it back up again.

Couldn’t give a fuck i had more fun with all the titles compared in the OP with a single game called Dave the diver

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?

Did Retardis ala Noctis forget to teach you how to read?

I haven't finished it yet (PC) but it's going to rank high

The amount of content is amazing. I had a huge smile on my face when I discovered a new batch of refreshed mini-games

2. FFVI
3. FFIX
4. FFVII Rebirth

Never touched the originals, so no nostalgia factor here and 7 remake is on my personal shit list, was really surprised by how much ive loved Rebirth.

Hard to rank it tho, itd do poorly if i did best games ive played list, but if i did a favourites list itd be near the top, its probably the most enjoyable game ive played or at least the most enjoyable one i can think of and i gave it some effort.

It is up there in my top ten.
What SquareEnix should be doing is making new FFs with this level of quality and care. (XII, XIII, XV, XVI are not close, imo ofc)

Hmm so safe to say I adored rebirth. I gave it goty and wrote a long rant about how great it was in the goty thread.

But I don't put games in my all time list quickly. I need them to sit for years and see if I still like them as much or more with time. Rebirth is also part of the remake trilogy so I think whatever happens with part 3 will shape how I reflect on rebirth.

I only a few years ago rotated P4 and DS1 in to my top 5. So it currently would be something like:

1. Dark Souls
2. Deus Ex
3. Planescape Torment
4. Persona 4
5. Heroes of Might and Magic III

I don't think it beats those 5 but I'm overly fond of Rebirth so maybe it will end up in a top slot with some time. I've already played it twice on PS5 and Pro and platinumed already so just gonna sit back and wait for more crazy mods before replaying again on pc.

Great thread cause we can just say how great rebirth is

I like this question. FFVII Rebirth is almost perfectly what I've always envisioned a FF should be.

Among my fav games like WoW, KHII:FM, Witcher 3, Mario 64, Mario Kart 8/DS, Smash, Atlus, it's likely in my top 10 maybe top 15. It is nipping at if not among legendary competition.

Not even in my top 50, top 5 would be

Morrowind
Fallout 3
Skyrim
Fallout New Vegas
Fallout 4

It is within my top 5 for JRPGs

FFIX
FFIV
Star Ocean Till the End of Times
Xenosaga
FFVII Rebirth - I actually haven't played the game myself but seen a good amount of scenes, perhaps it could actually be 3rd, or even 2nd once I play it. Doubt it'll beat FFIX for me though.

It's one of my favorite games of this gen but I don't think it would get into my top 10. Maybe into the top 20.
It was really fun and there's a lot to love but it also has some obvious flaws in the world design and I continue being unconvinced by some of the story changes.

Not even in my top 50.

It's great but its scale and ambition is still not there. Look at what the hell the Xenoblade series is pulling off ancient hardware. It puts to shame what Square Enix is throwing out there in relation to scope and scale. Graphics ain't everything.

For the record, I adore the game for what they made in Rebirth compared to what Remake was and how limited it was, but both games should've been way more ambitious in scale than what we actually got.

Top 3 FF games alongside OG FF7 and X. Top 10 JRPG. Probably wouldn't make my personal top 20 though. Probably somewhere between 20 and 30.

If they learn their lessons from Remake and Rebirth, iterate and improve on what made those games great and trim down a lot of the fat and the unnecessaries and take some of the criticism and feedback on board about what didn't work, Part 3 could be an all-timer.

Other than the mini games (not all of them) I've been having an absolute blast fully immersed in the story and saddened that I'm almost at the end. I look forward to the final chapter immensely. FF7 Rebirth is definitely in my top ten games no question about it.

My top 10: 1: Witcher 3 (PS4) 2: FF7 original (PS1) 3: Uncharted 2 (PS3) 4: Zelda wind waker (GC) 5: Horizon Zero dawn (PS4) 6: YS 8 (PS5) 7: gears of war 3 (Xbox 360) 8: Forza horizon 3 (Xbox one x) 9: Halo combat evolved (Xbox original) 10: FF7 rebirth (PS5 PRO)

imagine been this desperate to validate an opinion, that, you don't wanna other people criticizing the game on a internet forum...

Rowan Atkinson GIF
Every FF7 Remake/Rebirth thread consists of the same exact people screeching the same exact criticisms and cry as if Nomura molested them with his rusty buster sword. I mean, i think most FF7 Remake/Rebirth fans would agree that most of the criticism is valid but I cant really blame OP for wanting to filter that shit out just this once. Its so fucking tiresome.

Both those games have had terrible endings. They really should have just made a "straight" remake instead of this weird retelling. Good on them for trying something new, but I don't think it's adding a lot to what FF7 originally was.

You might just not like Final Fantasy.

As someone for whom FF7 is their favorite game of all time? Technically it's better and should hold #1 for me, but the nostalgia wins out for the original. My top five in no particular order after #1 are Rebirth, MGS3, Suikoden 2 and SOTN.

I don't do lists, but Rebirth was fantastic.

Had it's detriments of course, but had a ton of fun with it. The combat system is great, the OST is chef's kiss.

Looking forward to the last chapter.
