I had a strange dream: I was sitting in my old childhood bedroom, then I kinda went dissociative and next thing I see are a couple of corpses on chairs in that room, brutally mutilated. Like their throaths slashed and their faces just horribly mauled. I remember panicking (not really panicking, more like slowly putting the pieces together, the mental pieces not the body pieces), going downstairs, being picked up by authorities and then I just kinda woke up, still actually feeling something like "wow, how could I do that?". Maybe I killed my family? Really strange, puzzling dream.

Overall still less of a buzzkill than dreaming about my ex. I know this sounds like a bad punchline to an overly extensive set up, but I should be so lucky.

Anyways, I'm off to consume more psychoactive drugs, clearly they're working wonders for my subconsciousness.

Quiet today. I've been pecking away since the start of the year at all the required, annual training for work and my particular engagements. A little over halfway done with my CPE (23/40 hours a year done) and only a handful of the almost alphabet-long of client-related requirements left.

Probably playing some Crosscode tonight.

I'm the old dog in here at 56 😁

Looks like someone dug that dog up.

Or as we say here “dug that dug up” !

I knew a guy called Doug who always had a dug with him. He said if I saw him without the dug I was to call him Douglas :messenger_tears_of_joy: actually a true story!

Fun fact about Doug, he had one eye. He fell out a window and lost his eye. He had a glass eye ball! Again true story. That guy was hilarious I miss him :(

Another whacky neighbour I had we all called “The Fast Man”. Don’t think I ever learned his real name. He got his name because he walked so fast! He also talked really fast too. The reason I probably never got to know his name was because he never stopped to talk. You’d see him at one end of the street and the next second he was at the bus stop at the other end!

If I did manage to talk to him he answered me as he kept walking or I’d run after him. I was just a kid at the time. My friend stayed next door to him so we’d some times hang about at the doors and if he came out we tried to talk to him.

And if I saw him as I was looking out the window I’d count and see how long it took him to walk up the street and out of view!

I think he was a doctor or something. Maybe a dentist. I don’t know. He looked very smart all the time and ALWAYS carried a briefcase.

Another character I remember was known as Goofball. He was my friend’s cousin. He was always high on drugs, laughing, mumbling nonsense or trying to sell you things or buy from you.

He was always on a bike every time I saw him. Well, that’s not true. One time I saw him riding a 3 seater sofa down the hill! His “job” was taking things from someone to another! Usually you would hire a van to take heavy items/furniture to someone’s house….but we had Goofball!

If he could manage it then you’d see him with the item on his bike. I don’t know how he never crashed. He’d tie shit to the bike or hold it in his arms while riding no hands. Saw him with a microwave once. And if the item had wheels (like the sofa) he’d push it or ride it instead of his bike!

going to change my phone number :messenger_weary:

when i started my new job I was gonna get a work phone (i was offered one) but decided to just use my own. was going to use my new number for work but makes more sense to make that my personal one. don't need to buy a new phone. i'm already using an eSIM and my sim tray is empty. I think I can add another eSIM which I might do at some point but for now I'll just use the physical sim.

i'm very privacy focused so i'm very careful who i give my number out to and where i use it. the reason i stuck with my own number at work was because it was the easiest thing to do. but i don't like how many people have my number now. so it's time to start over fresh. and a lot of people only communicate over whatsapp which i hate and don't like giving my number to Meta (even though a lot of my contacts have likely already uploaded my number to facebook/instagram etc). so I can now use my old number for whatsapp and keep my new for family and security on accounts.

i won't need much internet data on my old number so can pick a cheaper plan. i think it'll only cost me an extra few £ / month to have a second number.

i was filling my cats water fountain up and she is fascinated by water. she was sitting watching me clean it out and fill it up. she was even flicking her paw under it so i thought i'd have a bit of fun and run some water on her head while it was under the tap. the tap is shit so it's difficult to put it on just a little. i soaked her and she started crying! i felt so bad. i got a towel and dried her off as best i could. i'll need to sleep with one eye open tonight or give her extra treats.

Picked up my bicycle from the repair shop and had a nice chat & coffee with my dad.

That's 2 years older than me. Which month?

Yeah I love it
i need to do some maintenance on my bike!

chain is rusted. going to add more oil to it. tires are down a little. my rear brake needs adjusted. i've noticed i need to pull it harder than the front so maybe it's the cable that has slipped.

was getting some noise off it so i don't know what was causing that. might need to lube up some of the moving parts and potentially adjust the brake pads.

Sup V1LÆM V1LÆM how was the chinees?
didn't buy one. i ended up making chips (fries), cheese and gravy.

Drinking my morning coffee and reading about your colorful neighbors made me smile 😀

Last time I changed my phone number was when in rehab in 2018.

Everyone kept asking me for my number to "hang out" when we got out. It was easier for me to say yes instead of "fuck off" and explain.
No way in HELL would I want to hang out with any of those degenerate addicts. I knew what I was talking about I was one of them! 😁

I only have a handful of close friends and a couple of family members left so it was easy to do.

i've changed my number more than a few times. same for email addresses. i'm bad for emails lol. i have no idea how many i've had over the years. my current one i just started using a few months ago and it's the first one i've paid for.

have been using disposable emails to reduce who i give my email out to. i have iCloud and Proton disposable emails. tried Duckduckgo email but that sucked.

without going into a long story something happened to me (involving a batshit crazy ex) in the past and it made me a lot more privacy focused. so i reduce my "foot print" online as much as possible. no social media (i only really post on here), i'm careful with my emails and phone numbers, use VPNs, privacy focused DNS servers, encrypted emails, custom router firmware.

the only thing i'm working on is ditching Windows but it's difficult. I stopped using my Outlook email and reinstalled Windows without my microsoft account. I have tried Linux in the past and might give it another shot.

another thing i guess i could do is change my smartphone. i have an iphone right now but i'm ballsdeep in the apple ecosystem. was thinking about getting a Pixel phone with GrapheneOS but i don't know man.

not really got anything to worry about but i guess i had some PTSD and it's stuck with me.

It's good to talk about it. Such experiences can leave a ptsd esque imprint that's hard to shake off since it's always in the back of your mind. I've been very open regarding posting pictures and stuff and in hindsight also berieve that somewhat. It is what it is but good for you to open up seeing your a very social person that wears his heart and thoughts on your sleeves.

You are your unfiltered self imo which is authentic and hence respectable.
