I didn't know G4 was back until the backlash to this Frosh person, then when I saw Sessler was in on it, I knew I would never watch it to begin with. Funny how all the good ones from old G4 (Pereira, Webb, Munn, Kayleigh, Chobot) apparently did not want back in.
Sessler is a mistake of a man, which is a shame because he was alright during the 2010s.

Yep, Blair Herter went on Twitter after the Frosk rant and said if you don't like what she said then don't watch because we don't want you as a viewer. I was out at that point and funny enough, he's no longer there. I think they even removed her rant off their channel. Little too late at this point, damage has been done.

i used to love G4. and i tried to tolerate the new version cuz i really like Kevin Periera and Xavier woods still. But there was only like one new tolerable person. the rest seemed like esports commentator rejects and ppl i wouldn't trust to sit the right way on a toilet seat

I used to adore G4 myself. It was the pinnacle of everything I loved about culture in the early 2000s and in the 90s. Everyone was excited about movies, tech, games - they would make dirty and crass jokes while also giving fans exactly what they want.
Sadly none of that returned. There are a few great folks at G4, such as Jirard and Xavier -but the rest have either checked out, are too high on their own supply of insufferable slacktivism, or have gone on record saying they are only doing this for a check.
Good riddance to this “new” G4 is it does end.

Their market could have been guys like me who remember the old G4 and would be willing to watch more curated content than sift through thousands of YouTube channels.
If they actually approached it with the same tone 2000s era G4 had there would be a market for corporate backed gaming journalism without all the Kotaku style political bullshit.
Instead they chose to come almost right out of the gate with the whole female victimhood bullshit and sank it they did.
It's insane to me they did what they did, it's insane to me that they would ever address weirdo internet comments, it's the fucking internet folks, you're always going to get mean or weird comments, how people haven't learned to just ignore that shit I just don't understand, but people have made careers off of grifting with that shit and I guess they thought G4's audience would be the same audience that would fall for it, they thought wrong, but it's also insane they would think that, who would like 2000s era G4 content and also be sympathetic to modern "muh female victimhood" bullshit? We're talking G4, the channel that shoved a bunch of hotdogs in Munn's mouth, right? The fact they so badly miscalculated who their audience is so badly is insane.

Frosk never broke new ground with her outburst, I've heard the same shit echoed from women for years. The only laughable thing about it was her being shoulder to shoulder with hypocrites as she vented, and perhaps her believing anybody gives a shit to be preached at over opinions on toys in the first place.
There is more brain power in a grasshopper than what was ever leveraged by the collective writing staff behind a ton of G4 media.

I hope Attack of the Show survives. It's pretty much just like it was on the original network, just with some new faces surrounding Kevin and some adjustments given the realities of how the world changed between 2010-ish to now.
I gave up on X-Play months ago. I couldn't care less if it goes away. Sessler was barely around, which is understandable - apparently both his wife and him have some health issues. The rest of the hosts seemed barely interested or informed about games, which reveals that their producers (writers) don't know much or really care about the hobby.
All in all they seemed a little top heavy. I know they have multiple revenue streams and all, but they simply had too much staff given the active viewer counts of their flagship shows.

Also, G4 was pretty good back in the day when they didn't take themselves or gaming too seriously. The skits from Kevin, Morgan Webb, Oliva Munn, Sara Underwood and others were the reason to tune in. Kevin and Olivia in particular had great chemistry. Same when Adam was paired with Morgan.
