Astrobot for sure, Plucky Squire and maybe Penny's Big Breakway (that's more tough, but it's a colourful amazing game)

But if you can, get a Switch to have more options. There's a lot just by Nintendo itself

Oddballers (PS5), it's couch coop and it's absurd.

Now, I have not watched the video, maybe the review says it's bad, but with the kids it's still fun.

I would recommend math books and logical reasoning puzzles.

Astrobot is not going to help your kid in the hellscape they are going to grow up into.

BUUUUTTTTT...cynical asshole aside; you should check out the PS1/PS2 classics that you can get from PSN. Lots of educational games on that platform, a bit dated sure, but there is a much larger pool to fish in esp for younger kids who may not care about graphical fidelity.

Some gems my nieces loved:
The Ape Escape games
Spyro (mentioned above)
The Disney infinity game. There was a version that you could buy that included all fo the characters and all of the content so you could work with your kid a great theme park with them.
Rugrats
SpongeBob

The issue with certain kids is that Astro bot games or platformers in general may not be as easy for them to grasp or stick with.

My son loses attention on games like this as a 7 year old easily.

Yet give him a platformer game on Roblox with his own avatar and he will play for hours. Or Minecraft he will build and build. He enjoys FallGuys as well.

The big thing with a game like Roblox or Minecraft is you need to sit there with them or play with them. Roblox even with all the parental settings on can still be a bit devious so you have to monitor the play session. Too much in your face use robucks to buy a jet pack bull shit when you fail a level, and you have to insure they don’t use any chat or voice by turning it off.

I like Roblox a lot but it is your responsibility.

I’ve tried Nintendo games and the only one he remotely liked was Mario Kart and Google’s Retro Snake Game.

Edit: my son did beat both sponge bob games, and we did do it takes two together as well.
Sackboys big adventure is great me and my son played it lots of fun
